New bonds

Miles made it home. The machine dropped him off on top of his building. He couldn't even be grateful he was so freaked out. One of his soulmates had just tried to kill him. After the other two had betrayed him. His marks burned and he just wanted the pain to stop. He didn't want these bonds. No, he wanted them it was just that the others didn't. It was the others who rejected the bond, not Miles. Miles had waited his entire life to have a bond and now all three of them were broken. Not broken damaged. They could be repaired. Miles laughed bitterly at the thought. That wouldn't happen, all three of them had made that very clear. They didn't want him. Fine then they wouldn't have him.

Miles found himself in the bathroom, shirt off razor in his hand. If they didn't want these bonds then he would just save them the trouble. Your going to regret this, part of his brain says. The bonds aren't broken yet, they just made a mistake, they still want you. Miles shakes those thoughts away. Even after seeing the mark Miguel had chased him like an animal, like a villain. He made it very clear that he didn't want Miles. 'You're an anomaly, you don't belong, you're a mistake.' That is what Miguel had said and neither of the other two had defended Miles.

They haven't broken the bonds yet. The voice argues. Yes they did, Gwen when she brought him to Miguel knowing what would happen, Peter when he hadn't tried to help, Miguel when he had tried to kill Miles. It just wasn't official yet.

Miles parents must have heard him come in through the window because the find him in the bathroom with a razor to his wrist. They try to stop him until they see his shoulder and stomach. They look again and see Gwen's faded mark on his wrist. They have question but they don't stop him. They let his break the final bond. He pulls the razor across his wrist. It hurts but it doesn't bleed. It just leaves a line through the mark which turns black and white like the others. His mother helps him clean the cuts from Miguel's talons while his father sits on the couch waiting for them to come out so they can talk.

Miles explains everything. He starts with the fact that he is Spider-Man. They take it better than he was expecting. They aren't happy with him for lying, but they are proud of him. It wasn't he worst thing he could have been doing, his mother says. They do give him a talk about balance and not failing school. He agrees the work on it.

"What about the marks then?" His mom asks gently. She remembered a time where Miles was so upset to not have any marks. Now he had three that he himself broke. She can't imagine why. She and Jeff had been soulmates. What could all three people had done to Miles for him to break bond that he had so desperately wanted?

Miles told them that all three marks were for Spidermen from different universes. He explained that his interest in physics came from a desire to find them again.

"I did find them. Gwen came to see me." He should have been exited about that but he just looked so sad.

"Turns out she had the ability to see me for the past year. She just never did." Miles had tears in his eyes. It hurt both parents so much to see Miles sad. He deserved what those marks were supposed to represent.

Miles explains how Miguel, the mark on his shoulder, invented a way to travel between dimensions. He explained the sociality and that he was never supposed to be Spiderman.

"Of course you are. Your a great Spiderman, whether or not you were supposed to be Spiderman." Miles smiles and thanks his dad. It was nice to hear someone say it. He then explained about the Spot and how he had run from Miguel.

"I thought they might understand. They have all lost someone, so they should understand the need to at least try." Miles says, frustrated. His parents hug and assure him. His dad says that he will be careful if the Spot reappears. Rio decides that it was time to change the subject.

"I'm guessing that you never showed us your mark because it might give you away so can we see it?" Miles nods. He really liked the mark and wished he could have shown them sooner. His mark is on the back of his right hand. The opposite side to that of his other marks. Even my mark is isolated, he thinks almost laughing at the irony.

He is started when he sees it. It had changed. The outline on the symbol was now green. The lighting was purple instead of blue. And strangest of all was that there was the outline of a sunflower around the whole thing. The outline was yellow. He explains this to his parents when they question his shock.

"Look." His mom says turing his wrist over. There is a mark there.

"That wasn't there earlier." He says. He pull his shirt off and low and behold there are two others. On the right side of his ribs is another mark. It's a spider resting on a yellow chrysanthemum. Miles remembers learning that chrysanthemums represent optimism and joy. He recognizes the spider. It's Pav's. On his shoulder is another. This time it's Hobie's symbol. The symbol is black. The background is a music sheets that is purple.

He looks at the one on his wrist. It a lily of the valley one a background of green binary code. Miles almost laughs again. Lily of the valley symbolize an apology. The universe is apologizing for messing up the first time.

"I know who these belong to." Miles say looking at his parents. Maybe the universe is being nice to him. Maybe they won't betray him. Hobie had already helped him and Pav might.

He explains who the two marks are. That they might help him.

"Who's the other one." Miles smiles. It belonged to the only person he had shown the other marks to. They showed each other there marks. It was the only one he had. Well until now.

"Ganke. It belongs to Ganke."

Hobie hops through the portal. He was so glad his watch worked. He had also made a "days pass". Couldn't have glitching while they were trying to Miles. Pav appears behind him almost immediately.

"Hey darling." Hobie says rapping his arms around Pav. Pav laughs embracing the taller boy back. His universe had stopped collapsing so there weren't any other spiders around.

Hobie had discovered that Pac was his romantic soulmate pretty quickly. No one else knew. Hobie never trusted anyone enough of mention it. Gwen seemed a little to willing to listen to what ever Miguel said. Hell she had betrayed and avoided her romantic soulmate because Miguel told her too. Hobie couldn't imagine doing that. To himself or Pav. The whole thing was made worse by the mark Miles had on his left shoulder. Hobie had thought for a second that maybe the mark would stop Miguel. It hadn't and now Hobie was sneaking around to help Miles.

"Look what if found." Pav says excitedly. He pulls his shirt up to reveal the mark Miles had on the back of his hand. It was a little different but it was definitely Miles'. Hobie smiles. He had the same mark on the right side of his chest. Looks like the universe wanted them to help Miles. Well, Hobie thinks pulling Pav in for another hug, I listened to the universe once, one more time won't hurt.

Pav holds out his wrist the one with Hobie's mark on it. Hobie attaches the bracelet to it. Pav had taken off the watch Miguel had given him so they couldn't be tracked.

"Let go help our friend." Hobie opens a portal to Miles' universe.
