To be honest, being a superhero was a lot easier than you thought it would be maybe it was because you worked with spiderman no. 2 or  whatever and you didn't have to face the burden of keeping the city safe all on your own like the first spiderman did.

You called yourself Midnight. You're not really sure why you picked that name, it didn't own any sentimental meaning to you, it had nothing to do with your abilities... it just felt right to you at the time.

And it was better than your other options, don't ask me what they were, just know they were pretty terrible.

Your first time meeting spiderman wasn't really how you thought it would go. Everyone in the city already knew their was another hero who emerged out of nowhere after spiderman no. 2 did and started kicking the low-level criminals asses.

There was even an article about it in the news forums and newspapers having the headline New Superhero Midnight: Blessing or Curse. The civilians were wary of you, they only trusted spiderman but you didn't let that deter you. You knew if you took some big shot villain who really threatened the safety of the city you'd wouldn't be seen as a threat the media made of.

But you weren't strong enough to take down big shot villains like Spiderman took down Kingpin on his debut (as you liked to call it). You had only one super power, you jump pretty high and far, you could also kick and punch stuff with your immense strength.

So you went for the safest option, you decided let go of your lone wolf reputation after five months and seventeen days of being Midnight and decided to meet Spiderman no. 2 for the first time.

Around ten pm, a middle aged lady withdrew a fat wad of cash from an ATM machine. Unbeknownst to her, a car was parked across the street with three armed robbers just waiting for her to finish up so they could attack. And you, was perched on top a building watched silently and patiently as the masked robbers held her at gun point and demanded for her to hand over the money as well as anything else of value.

"Please! This is all I have left!" The middle aged lady begged. "My son... my son is at the hospital, I need this money to pay the hospital bill!"

"No can't do, mam." One of the robbers said. "So you unless you wanna join him at the hospital, I suggest you hand it over." He punctuated his words by pressing the gun even closer to her head.

The poor woman was forced to let go of her money, after all her life was worth much more than a few thousand bucks. At least they still let her live, some people don't get that previledge.

"Any minute now..." You whispered, if Spiderman didn't show up before the men made a getaway, you'd jump right into the scene and take down those guys. You hated the frightened look on the poor lady's face, you wanted to replace it with a look full of relief and happiness.

Just when the men were about to run away, he finally showed up. You let out a sigh.

"Wow," he said, like it was just any other Thursday night. "How you guys even sleep at night?"

"S–spiderman?" One of guys stuttered at the sight of the masked hero.

"Uh uh, that's me." Then a web shot out of his wrist and snatched the lady's purse right out of one of the robbers' grip. "Seriously though, she just told you that she needed that money for her son's treatment and you just don't even care at all?"

Spiderman only had a moment of silence to reply him, then one of the guys pointed a gun at him and pressed the trigger. A gun shot echoed though out the alley, and it turns out, this hero knew how to dodge bullets. He swung up and above them, knocked the gun out of the guys hands and knocked out the guy as well. "Let's make this quick, yeah? I've got somewhere to be."

Suffice it to say, Spiderman was successfully beating up and webbing up four, no five robbers at once. The last dude stealthily crawled along the ground trying to make it to the gun spiderman had dropped, by the time Spiderman had webbed three men one to the wall of the building you were perched on and was now fighting the forth guy which was ridiculously tall and buff, the last guy grabbed the gun and that's when you knew it was the right time to make your big entrance.

You jumped down from the building and with a swift and precise roundhouse kick you knocked this guy halfway across the lonely street.

"Midnight?" Spiderman whispered, somehow caught in a headlock with the big guy trying to strangle him with his large beefy arms.

You turned around and Spiderman thought he was right, besides everyone who saw you could attest to the strange eye color you had which led to the speculations online of whether or not they were real or just eye contacts. The man dropped his guard a bit due to the fact another masked hero had dropped out of nowhere and was staring at him like he was next on her list.

Spiderman took that opportunity and elbowed him on the ribs then punched him in the face when he was free. The large man landed on the ground unconscious.

"So, you've heard of me." You said rather happily, as if the fact that you were the topic of plenty controversies was somehow something to be proud of.

"Have...uh, have you been here this entire time?" He said, white...(fabric?) eyes staring up at the top of the building where she jumped down from.

"Of course," You walked over the lady and handed over her purse with a smile she couldn't see due to your mask, "here you go, ma'am. Please try not to make withdrawals at night anymore especially in lonely areas, it's really dangerous."

"I will," she said, aged eyes brimming with tears of relief. "Thank you so much, Midnight."

"What about me? I beat up almost all the bad guys!" Spiderman exclaimed.

"Oh, thank you too." The lady added.

When the lady left, Spiderman narrowed his mask eyes at her, "So you were up there while that woman was being held at gunpoint, why didn't you jump in to save her?"

You shrugged, "it seemed like a stressful situation."

His mask eyes widen abnormally, you thought it was amazing how it perfectly reflected his own facial expressions, your previous mask prototypes couldn't do that at all no matter how much you tried, so you eventually forgot about masks that completely covered your face and later went for the black mask that only concealed your neck to the bridge of your nose, leaving your eyes and forehead open for the public to gawk at in hopes they could discover your secret identity.

You let out an awkward laugh, "I'm kidding, I was... waiting for you."

"For what exactly?"

A police car zooms past with it's sirens blaring, you instantly feel on edge. "Can we talk someplace private?"
