bye bye mr.terry
He knows he should be grateful for this opportunity but honestly, he was disappointed. It's his third day interning at Stark Industries and he's been either stuffed in an ‘office’ that was actually the equivalent of a broom closet or he's been running around with stacks and stacks of coffee in his hands. Not exactly what he had expected out of his internship.
On his first day, he was excited to hear that he had been assigned to the R&D labs. The intern director, Mr.Terry, had told him that he ‘wasn’t mature enough to do what the others were doing’ and then proceeded to basically shove him in a corner with a stack of paper to organize and a list of every R&D intern’s coffee order. In Peter’s opinion, it's a load of bullshit.
So there he was, bored out of his mind, spinning around in his desk chair. He had finished the stack of papers on the first day and had even taken the time to correct some errors he had found. So now all he could do was wait for FRIDAY to alert him that someone wanted coffee- and oh lucky him! Peter sighs as Mr.Terry peaks his head through the doorway of Peter’s broom closet/office.
“Hey Pete, if you’re looking for something to do, could you get everyone some coffee?” he asked, holding out the company credit card used specifically for coffee runs.
Peter plastered a smile on his face and took the card from his superiors hands. The moment his head popped back out, Peter’s smile dropped. Might as well ask FRIDAY if there was anyone else who needed coffee while he was out.
“FRIDAY?” he asked out loud
“Yes Mr.Parker?”
“Is there anyone else who might want coffee while I'm out?”
“Dr.Silva from the higher R&D labs does. Shall I send her order to your StarkPad Mr.Parker” FRIDAY’s irish accent has started to become a constant in Peter’s life in the past three days.
“Please, and call me Peter.”
“Of course, Peter”

Unsurprisingly, ordering 20 coffees from a small coffee shop is slightly humiliating, but the cashiers seem to understand the apologetic look on his face every time he’d slid a paper with every coffee he needs onto the counter in front of him in the last three days.
He sits down somewhere close to the pick up counter as he waits for his order, scrolling on his phone
Peter sighed and quickly shoved his phone in his pockets. Luckily he didn’t have to figure out how to get twenty fucking coffees back to Stark Tower because the lovely cashier had but it all into bags. What an angel. He thanked the cashier and left with four paper bags in hand and started his trek back to work in the June heat of New York City.

Peter relished in the cool air of Stark Tower for a few moments before starting his walk to the elevator. He had twenty impatient interns waiting for their coffees and he really didn’t feel like listening to Mr.Terry complaining about how long it takes him to get coffee, so off he went, delivering coffee like a goddamn uber eats driver.
He had almost forgotten to bring the last coffee to Dr.Silva, but thanks to FRIDAY reminding him, he was once again in the elevator. The higher R&D labs were for official Stark employees and were on the floors 10 to 15. Dr.Silva was on floor 13. Higher than he’d ever been in the tower.
The sleek elevator doors opened and he was met with the sight of what he considers heaven on earth. The lab was spacious with various desks a bit all over the place and a handful of people scattered around. There was a white board in the middle of the room with what seemed to be a formula scribbled onto it. He stared at it from the elevator for a few moments and saw what was wrong with it almost immediately. The positives and negatives were reversed in two places. An error in plain sight, but the hardest to find.
He was snapped out of his thoughts by someone, most probably Dr.Silva, walking up to him.
“Hey kid, what are you doing up here?” she asks, slight confusion as to why a child is in the higher R&D labs in her voice
“Oh- uh. I had to go on a coffee run and asked FRIDAY if anyone else needed coffee and said that you did so-, he paused to pass the last coffee to the woman, here you go.”
She took the coffee from his hands and thanked him, and right before she turned to leave Peter decided to do the stupidest thing he could and spoke up.
“By the way, you reversed a positive and a negative in the formula over there.” he said, pointing at the white board in the middle of the room
Oh god he was going to get fired for sure-
Dr.Silva raised an eyebrow at the literal child in front of her.
“Would you mind showing me where I messed it up?” she asked, not an inch of annoyance or insincerity in her voice.
He nodded and the two walked to the white board in questing. A woman with fiery red hair passed him a marker and he immediately got to work explaining where she had messed up and even gave some suggestions to improve the formula. The two were deep in conversation when FRIDAY interrupted them.
“Peter, Mr.Terry has asked that you get him another coffee as the one you gave him was lukewarm.”
Peter sighs.
“Isn’t there literally a microwave in his big ol’ office?” he asked
“Yes. I recommended that he microwave it but he refused.”
Motherfucker he hissed under his breath. Dr.Silva looked at him in confusion.
“Wait, why the hell are you going on coffee runs? Shouldn’t you be working in a lab or something?” she asked incredulously.
Peter was too tired to sugar coat his distaste for Mr.Terry.
“Mr.Terry thinks I’m too young and don’t have the capabilities of working in a lab even though I’m an official intern and should be working in the lab. Instead he decided to shove me into an ‘office’ the size of a broom closet and make me go on coffee runs.” he said
Dr.Silva balled her hands up into fists, a look of determination on her face.
“There is no way I’m letting your talented ass rot in a goddamn broom closet because Terry is insecure. I’m coming with you.” she said, not leaving any room for Peter to argue and stalking over to the elevator, and to be honest, Peter didn’t want to argue anyways.
In the elevator the blonde haired woman turned to him with a scarily calm smile
“What’s your name kid?” she asked
“Peter Parker, ma’am.” he answered, earning him a small nod
The moment the elevator doors opened and Dr.Silva walked out with an angry look on her face, every intern turned to Peter as if to say what the fuck did you do to anger her?? and all Peter could do was smile a bit, ready to see the 5’4 woman unleashing hell on his boss.
“Leonard Terry I would like to have a little chat.” she said, pushing her way past Mr.Terry and closing the office door behind her. The last thing he saw was the fear in his boss’ face.
The moment the door closed one of the interns he's closer to, Cass, turned to him with wide eyes.
“Parker what the fuck did you do” she said
He just smiled
“Oh I didn’t do anything. Mr.Terry though? I’m surprised he isn’t dead yet.”
Another intern, Owen, choked on his coffee at his words.
“I’m kind of scared of you now. You didn’t poison my coffee did you?” he asked jokingly
“Of course not”
It was at that moment that Dr.Silva walked out of the office, a small smile on her face as she turned towards him.
“C’mon Parker. You’re going to shadow me from now on.” she said, starting to walk away, leaving Peter to speed walk a bit to catch up with the short woman.
