Chapter 12: The Fall Of The Avengers
Location: Sokovia
"Wait, Captain Rogers, before we leave for the states, can I get something? It's of sentimental value," Pietro said.
"Fine, make it quick," Rogers said. As Pietro ran out, a missile hit him, blowing him up. Wanda rushed out, crying, "Pietro."
She arrived and started to tear the missile apart until she saw something, a device. She pressed on it and fell to her knees. "Mother, you failed to save me. So I killed Uncle. This is what happens when you let Stark and Jarvis kill me," Ultron said.
Wanda let out a scream of rage. A woman and her son were walking by, but she was flung back into a wall with her son, killing both. Wanda's energy expanded so much it crushed Sokovia.
The Avengers, seeing this, got in the Quinjet and flew out of range.
"Hey, Cap, are you sure she's stable enough to be on the team?" Sam said.
"Don't worry; she lost her brother. Not that I care about her, but she will make a good weapon against Stark and the mutants," Steve replied.
"True," Natasha said.
"Stark will pay," Clint said.
Unknown to them, after Wanda's little anger tantrum was over, a man arrived and heard what happened. Steve consoled Wanda. He was enraged. He saw the bodies of his son and wife flung against the wall.
"You heroes, all of you are fake. You'll pay. I will destroy all you heroes," Zemo yelled.
A year later, Malibu Mansion
"Sir, we have received word that the U.N. has approved a bunch of documents called the Avengers Accords. This comes after their countless disregard for borders and the destruction they left behind when the Avengers attacked in Lagos, Nigeria, killing 11 Wakandan relief workers and injuring 44 other civilians. This is followed by a request from the United States Department of State to sign the Avengers Accords," Jarvis said.
"I see. What does this mean for Iron Man and other mutants?" Tony said.
"In simple terms, nothing. The recent mutant rights movement is still too strong for you and the other mutants to be affected. Plus, only the Avengers are going where they do not belong or have not been invited. So you are not affected," Jarvis explained.
"Well, good. Have you made a profile of my Mutation yet?" Tony said.
"Yes, sir. I have received the results from your X-gene test. It says that your power is not just Armor creation, but you also have the following:
1. Decipher: While armored, Stark can scan and assess genetic history, physical makeup, and current medical conditions of individuals.
2. Weapons Creation: Tony can transform his armor into various weapons, including energy blasters, swords, shields, and more, made of different materials or energy types.
3. Energy Absorption/Manipulation: Tony can absorb and control various forms of energy, including magic, and create energy shields capable of blocking powerful attacks.
4. Access to Quantum Realm: Tony can enter the quantum realm without the need for Pym Particles, Magic, or equipment.
5. Cyberkinesis/Technopathy/Mechanokinesis: Stark can mentally control and manipulate technology, computers, robots, and advanced hardware.
6. All Speak: He possesses the universal translator ability, which allows him to understand and be understood in any language.
7. Weapons of Mass Destruction Creation: When required, Tony can create devastating weapons of mass destruction.
8. Auto Defense: His body automatically generates armor, making it virtually impossible for him to be wounded or killed.
9. Superhuman Strength: His strength is far superior to any human.
10. Enhanced Durability: His durability is far superior to any human.
11. Invulnerability: As stated by Thor, his armor is impenetrable.
12. Immortality: He is immune to aging.
13. Telepathic Resistance: You are completely immune to telepathy.
And there is more, sir, but we still need time to process and see what else you can do," Jarvis concluded.
"Great," Tony said.
"Sir, President Frost has arrived and is on her way up," Jarvis said.
"Let her come. Also, send the files and information I gathered on the Sokovian twins," Tony ordered.
"Understood," Jarvis replied.
Emma arrived at the room where Tony was.
"Hello, Ms. President," Tony said.
"Call me Emma, Tony," Emma replied.
"Very well, Emma. Please take a seat," Tony said.
"Thanks. So, I am here to tell you the X-Men have agreed to bring the Avengers to justice. They are protecting an assassin for Hydra called James Barnes, otherwise known as the Winter Soldier," Emma informed.
"Really? Well, I can't wait," Tony replied.
"Sir, it seems most of the Avengers have been captured. Only Steve Rogers and Bucky Barnes have escaped," Jarvis said.
"I see. Hack into the Quinjet, see where they are going," Tony said as his armor formed around him. "Sorry, Emma, as soon as Jarvis knows, I'm going."
"No wait, I will go. I am not just a pretty mutant; I can fight too, you know," she said.
"Never said you weren't, but fine, you can come. Jarvis, do you have a location?" Tony asked.
"Yes, sir. Siberia," Jarvis answered.
"Alright," Tony said.
"Tell the X-Men to meet us there," Tony said as the two flew with the Iron Legion towards Siberia. Eventually, Tony and Emma arrived in Siberia. They walked in to see Steve Rogers and Bucky Barnes, their targets there.
"Steve Rogers, put your hands up. You are wanted for breaking the Avengers Accords and past crimes of breaking into countries, mutant discrimination, and more," Tony said.
"Mutant?" Rogers yelled.
"Yes, mutant," Tony said.
"You are the worst. You are not a real hero, not a real mutant, you are an abomination," Rogers roared.
"I may be an abomination, but at least I am a hero. You are not a hero, and not a good man. You are an idiot," Tony replied.
"How dare you, I am the greatest," Rogers yelled.
"Greatest?" Emma asked. "You're a racist."
"Shut up; we are heroes. The man called Zemo is the one who framed Bucky, and he's the one who will activate the other Winter Soldiers," Steve yelled. As he and Bucky ran into the Hydra base, Tony and Emma followed, catching up. They saw Zemo, who explained how Wanda killed his parents, so he will take revenge by having heroes tear each other apart. He then played footage of Bucky Barnes killing Tony's parents and told Tony and Emma that Steve knew.
"Tony, are you okay? I am here for you," Emma asked, pulling his head into her breast.
"No, my parents. Barnes killed them, and Rogers knew," Tony cried as he got angry. His X-Gene started sending so much energy the suit got stronger and faster.
"I'm with you. Let's avenge your parents, Tony, and bring Rogers in. I will use my power as President
to make sure he never sees the light of day ever again. He will be in a prison so deep that not even an ounce of sunlight will reach him," Emma said as the two charged at Rogers and Bucky.
Bucky threw a punch at Tony's chest, which Tony grabbed and ripped off the arm. Bucky yelled in pain, and then Tony punched his face, sending him flying into a wall. Steve got up and used his shield, which Tony dodged. Tony then blasted a repulser, causing Steve to lose his grip. The shield went flying, and Steve quickly tried to grab it, but it was kicked away by Emma, and Tony hit Steve's chest, making him cough out blood.
"That was for my mom, Rogers," Tony said.
"And this is for hurting Tony," Emma added, holding Steve, allowing him to watch.
"No," Steve screamed as Tony's armored arm transformed into a sword and stabbed Bucky in the heart. Bucky fell to the ground.
"You're a monster, not a hero," Rogers yelled.
"I may be a monster, but a hero who protects his friends and family. I may not have acted like one, but now. Now, I am the true Iron Man," Tony said as his eyes glowed.
"I will kill you," Steve yelled as he charged at Tony, who simply raised his hand and blasted a hand blast, ripping off and sending Rogers arm flying into a wall. T'Challa, who had watched Barnes' death, got mad and rushed at Emma, punching, and freeing Steve.
"I will help you avenge him. I know Bucky was innocent of killing my father, and now I can't repay my debt of helping the X-Men capture him," T'Challa said.
Tony caught Emma bridle-style. He looked at her, and she blushed. "It seems like another one supports murder. Let's end him, Em," Tony said.
"Yes, we will capture T'Challa, who freed the criminal known as Steve Rogers," Emma said.
"I hope you know what you've done, T'Challa, by attacking the President of the United States," Tony said as he aimed a repulsor. But suddenly, he saw code. The anger he was feeling after seeing his mother's death had unlocked a new power from the X-Gene. Unknown to Tony, this was the cosmic perception. Tony was in the sky as his brain tried to catch up with the information he got from cosmic perception. He did not know what was going on.
"What's this? I see code," Tony mumbled. While this was happening, Emma was being beaten by Steve Rogers, who got his shield and T'Challa. Tony's mind was still comprehending what was going on, and he was in the sky, so the others couldn't reach him. Tony's mind caught up, and he saw Emma about to be killed as Steve drove the vibranium code. Tony looked at the code of the shield and unknowingly erased the part of the code that allowed vibranium to exist.
The shield in Rogers' hand that he was bringing down to kill Emma disappeared. The suit T'Challa had made of vibranium disappeared. The vibranium Quinjet and all the vibranium in Wakanda vanished as if it was never there. Wakandans fell to their deaths because they were on railways in the vibranium mines, on balconies in flight-capable vehicles. They all fell to their deaths.
Steve Rogers and T'Challa didn't know what happened to Wakanda or the Quinjet. They were surprised; their weapons and suits were gone. Emma took this chance to punch them both unconscious.She was in her Diamond form do was stronger than their weak enhancement
"What happened? You looked like you spaced out. Was it because of your mother?" She asked.
"No, I think it's because of my mutation. Something weird happened, but now I am back to normal. So anyway, let's take these monsters to their new home," Tony said.
"Yes, let's," Tony said as he picked them both up by their necks, carrying them like trash. As he walked, he saw a Quinjet land before them.
"Mr. Stark, President Frost, are you good?" Logan asked as they nodded.
"Yeah, we captured the criminals. Could you take them to the Raft, please? I need to get Tony home; he's distraught after what he saw. By the way, can one of you go and get the video player from the base? It contains evidence of Barnes killing Tony's mother," Emma said.
"Of course," Logan said.
"Alright, let's get home, Em," Tony said.
"Of course," Emma replied.
The Avengers had fallen. It was the end of an era. But now a new era had begun. One where the Avengers would not be able to harm mutants or humans. An era where the Avengers would fall to justice, an era where the world would know peace. But this was not the end; this was just the beginning.
Two years later, out in space
"Father, Asgard has fallen, so has Hela and Odin. Ragnarok has occurred. There is a refugee ship that contains the Tesseract. Shall I retrieve it?" Ebony Maw said.
"No, I will do it myself," Thanos said.
"As you wish, Father," Ebony Maw said.
"So, Father, shall we prepare for the invasion of Earth?" Corvus Glaive said.
"Yes. Proxima, we are heading to Earth. Prepare the fleet," Thanos said.
"As you wish, Father," Proxima said.
"Soon I shall correct the balance of this universe," Thanos said with a smile on his face.
