Truth and Forgiveness
Big Hero 6 was still standing around the entrance to the closet. It had been a good 10 minutes since Hiro's outburst, Baymax was still sitting beside him. Patiently waiting for his friend to be better.
While the situation was not ideal, Minimax just had to suggest, “This Is Extremely Emotional, So To Make Everyone Feel Better, I Shall Travel To The Kitchen And Create The MINIMAXIMUM Toasty Chocolate.”
Fred shot up, forgetting his worry long enough to mention, “Don’t forget to add the mini marshmallows, ok Minimax?” His smile disappeared when he saw the unamused looks that were shot to him by his friends.
Hiro gave a short laugh at the comments and attempted to stand, even if he was a little shaky. Baymax noticed and helped Hiro out of the closet and towards Fred’s exotic bedroom.
When they arrived Heathcliff offered some animal-shaped cookies though no one was in the mood, not even Honey Lemon was intrigued.
“Alight kid, explain.” GoGo was stern, though worried but she did add, “Please.” That put a shock on everyone's face, even Hiro looked up at her with his tear-streaked eyes for a second before looking back down.
“Alright, but it's kind of complicated so this may take a while, so just give me some more time. Please.”
They all agreed and after about a very awkward and silent 5 minutes Minimax came in shouting, “Your Minimaximun Tiny Marshmallows With Warm Chocolate Is Ready!”
Fred shot up though but sat back down when Hiro cleared his throat indicating that he was finally ready to explain his situation.
“Ok, so um, after the incident with the energy amplifier and the fact that thanks to Obake, who had Baymax kidnap me and hold me hostage against my will until I agreed to be his student..”
“Wait, wait, wait, he wanted you to be his student!?” Wasabi interrupted with a shriek.
“And you didn't think to tell us this, because... ” Fred stated with a bit intrigue bit overall confusion.
Hiro shrunk down a bit at these responses, “Forgot? I guess? Anyway, the point is… I think he’s alive.”
Everyone was just frozen, thoughts racing through their minds ‘How would he be alive?’
‘Why did he want Hiro as his student?’
‘Where was he now?’
‘Why does Hiro think that?’
‘Where’s my lunch?’ Sorry that was Fred’s thought at least.
Hiro stood up and got their attention and then he began to explain his strange dreams, the visions, the constant paranoia that someone was watching him. They were still in shock but they all took in every word.
When he finished HoneyLemon had tears in her eyes and without thinking, went in for a big hug. arms outstretched but,
“Wait! No! I’m sorry! Please! I regret it! I won’t do it again I swear! I won’t ever join him!”
Once again everyone was in shock. HoneyLemon quickly stood back and put her hands down.
Baymax attempted to go towards Hiro, to hopefully calm his panic, but was held back by Fred. "Hold on dude, give him some room."
Hiro looked up and was about to leave again though blind panic, but noticed that Heathcliff was blocking the door this time. Probably Gogo’s idea to stop him from running.
He took a deep breath and before he could relax again Wasabi came up to him slowly and stated, “Ok man that was weird, and I am usually not the nosy type but you really need to explain what that was about.”
Hiro reluctantly nodded and sat back down near Baymax, who rapped his large arms around him for hopeful comfort.. ‘Should I really tell them I am getting picked on 'cause of my mistake? That would be best, but would they hate me too? No, no they are my friends they’ll understand.’
“Alright, so I’ve been having nightmares about you guys hating me because I helped Obake create the star that almost destroyed the city and you guys told everyone in SFIT about the fact that Obake only ruined the final projects just to get me and my energy amplifier, and then other students started bullying me because of it and while that actually happens and most of it isn't just in my head Obake keeps showing up and I can see things that I don't remember happening but it just looks really convinsing. Oh an-and I no longer had any friends and I kept telling myself that I can’t leave the school 'cause you all and Tadashi worked so hard to get me in, and I have to stay here forever even with sudden backbreaking work from Prof.Grandville and I have live out my days being alone and having these stupid dreams about Obake possibly being alive.”
He took a deep breath and looked at his friend. He was speaking so quickly that barely anyone heard him but it was still understandable. This was a problem.
“Well it seems like you are having crazy random dreams and now you are afraid that Obake is back and we will turn against you?” Wasabi said with a stern look but one that was also very worried and kind.
“Well ya, that's one way to put it.” Hiro was still shaking a bit but was starting to calm down. Baymax staying silent and just patted Hiro on the head.
This was bad, really bad. The team needed to do something fast.
“Alright first things first.” Fred said a little too excitingly due to the immense tension in the room, “I say that to help Hiro, we need to find Obake and bring him to justice and then we can move onto phase two!”
Everyone shot him a glare about the whole faze two thing but he wasn't wrong.
“What if Hilo’s dream aren’t just random dreams?” Everyone turned and looked at HoneyLemon to understand her claim, “I-I mean look at the evidence, Obake wanted Hiro to be his student, he disobeyed and destroys his work, now what if Obake is alive somehow is giving Hiro these dreams to try and lure him back into a trap?! I mean we know he can do something like this since he gave us those contacts with our worst fears.”
Once again everyone stared and to be honest her claim was not as far-fetched as it may seem. Hiro sat slumped back into his spot wavering a but as her stared off into space, skin growing a bit pale.
He suddenly stood up, escaping Baymax's hold and his friends thought he was going to leave before. But he just turned around to face Baymax.
“Baymax, bring up the picture of the Conspiracy Wall please,” Hiro stated a determined look in his eyes.
“Which One Specifically?” Was Baymax’s answer though Hiro did not seem fazed. Everyone was just surprised, Fred, being a little disappointed that Hiro was doing not just one Conspiracy Wall without him.
“The one about Obake please.” Baymax brought up a photo of Hiro’s very messy but very detailed wall with photos of Obake and other villains who were close to him.
“Alright this is all the info I have on Obake so far and what HoneyLenom said did get me thinking, Obake wants me to find him so that he can lead me to a trap. Thus the dreams because he knows that I would want answers while trying to keep you guys safe.”
“Alright so how do we stop him without you getting into that villain’s dirty hands,” Gogo said as she spoke up. Everyone was in deep thought until Heathcliff turned on the news.
“Bluff Dunder here, Momakase, and Noodle Burger Boy are destroying the city.”
They all looked at each other more confidently now that they were at leaston the same page.
“Don’t worry Hilo we will protect you and the city, We Promise,” HoneyLemon said.
Hiro looked at her gratefully, then to the rest of his team who gave him a reassuring smile. “Alright then, Team Let's Suit Up! Again.”
