Summary
Gwen is having The Worst Day Ever™. Luckily Miles is there to make things better.
Note
I'll be so honest with you guys, I was writing a sequel and I started to hate it like halfway through, so this one is really short 😭😭

Gwen marched up the stairs and slammed her door.

Ugh.

Everything was going wrong! She had got a B on a biology paper that so clearly deserved an A. Her dad keeps on picking stupid fights with her, and she still hadn't made any friends at her school since Peter, despite her actively trying to now.

All she wanted to do was mindlessly doodle for a bit, just to calm down. She sat at her desk and pulled out her phone, texting Miles to come over. Maybe they could have another drawing contest? It was pretty fun last time.

She took out a sketchbook and a pencil in anticipation of Miles' arrival. Unfortunately the universe was in fact not on her side, because the minute she had her favourite pencil in her grip, it snapped.

So did she.

Luckily, or rather unluckily for him, Miles chose this exact moment to enter her dimension again.

" What's u-" he started, only to have his spider sense warn him of the incoming pencil that was headed towards his head. He catches it and throws a perfect rebound shot into the bin.

He really wants to point out how cool that shot was, but Gwen has completely retreated to under her covers, and he can hear little sniffles coming from her direction. Priorities, Morales.

"I got your text..." he tries, walking towards the Gwen shaped lump in the duvet.

"Just go" she says sadly.

This was so... unlike her? She's usually even more chatty than him, especially when she's upset. And she's definitely not the type to internalise things, usually it's all rage and spiteful words.

Huh.

Now that he's really thinking about it, she wasn't quite acting like herself yesterday either. She kept snapping over the tiniest of things, and, yes maybe he was being a bit of an idiot yesterday, but usually she finds that endearing.

What could be making her act like this? She's almost acting like he does when he hasn't been allowed to indulge in his headspace.

Wait.

"Gwen? Can I uh, come in?"

Nothing. Okay, different approach then. He grabs the teddy he had won her at the fair earlier this week and gently slides her under the duvet.

"...can Sprinkles come in?" He asks, hopefully.

"...Okay" she says softly.

Miles resisted the urge to coo and focused on comforting the little.

"What's wrong, pretty girl?" Miles (or rather, Sprinkles) asks.

"Jus' had a bad day" came the muffled reply.

She sounds so sad, and Miles mentally promises there and then to make her feel better.

"A bad day?" He gasps dramatically "Well you know there's only one way to solve one of those?"

"Uhhh nooooo?" She says, but she's giggling now.

He quickly lifts the duvet off of her, and begins tickling every inch of available skin. He is as merciless as he is thorough; lingering in sensitive areas like her ribs and her belly.

"A-ah, Miles s-stop" she attemps to say, but she's laughing so hard it doesn't quite have the desired effect.

"What did you say? More?" He teases, amping up the pace. He looks for signs that she really has had enough, but finds none. So he continues his tickle assault, finding himself laughing alongside her.

After a chase that involved running on several celings (her upstairs neighbour was truly going to hate them), Gwen starts begging for a truce.

"Okay, okay we can have a truce. For now..." he replies, smiling down at her.

She breathes a dramatic sigh of relief. God, she was so adorable when she was like this.

Both of their spidey senses go off, and the moment is lost. They both look out the window and see a man holding a woman at gunpoint.

"Wanna patrol?" Gwen says, sounding distinctly more grown up.

"You sure you're okay to go out there?" He said, concerned.

"Yeah, I mean it's fine, it shook me right out of headspace. Thanks by the way, for uh, taking care of me and stuff" she rambled, blushing. "It was really cool of you".

Before she could overthink it, she rushed forwards and planted a quick peck on his cheek.

"Right, so uh, let's go." She said, already digging around under her bed to find her supersuit.

He just smiled at her.
