Chapter 1
Miles Morales doesn't like coffee. He never has and never will. So when Gwen asked about going to a new coffee shop he said no. Too bad his friends were adamant about going.
“Come on Miles, it will be fun!” Gwen asked for the 5th time that month as they sat at their shared apartment, she had been working on her choreography for her dance group before Hobie and Pavitr had texted her to ask miles about the new shop again.
“Eh i don't know Gwen, you know i don’t really drink coffee and it's not like they serve much other than that.” Miles complains as he continues to wash the dirty dishes in the sink trying his best to ignore the conversation. After the third time he just started to zone it out.
“I mean i guess, but I heard that they started selling some baked goods that are really great!” She says messing with something in her hand. “It will be worth it plus the group says they miss you!” She says excited at the idea of seeing everyone together again.
“Uhh..” he grumbles thinking about how long it has been since he has seen his friends and thinking about how many times the other had bugged him. “fine.. but I can't do it this week. The deadline is coming up to present that new mural idea for downtown. I gotta make sure I get the spot.” He says with a grimace before going back to the dishes.
“Ahh thank you miles!!!! Yeah! They are going to be so happy, I can't wait!!” She says before quickly texting the group chat.

“Thank you miles!!! I'm gonna go call and try and plan this!” Gwen says before grabbing her stuff and rushing off to her room with a grin
“Hey! Be careful and make sure to tell them not this week!!” He yells as she runs off “I hope I don't regret this..” he muttering to himself before continuing to do the dishes

“Are you finally ready to go?” Gwen asks from outside the door as before she hears a sudden bump “Did you seriously just fall?” She asks teasingly “Uhhh noooo..” Miles replies from the ground before shuffling around more
“Just go start the car I’ll be out in a few minutes” he says as she hears him moving around “alright but hurry up” she says as miles hears her footsteps fade
“Ugh” he groans as he gets up he's used to falling but it doesn’t mean it won't hurt, he slowly pulls himself up and finishes putting on his pants and grabbing a coat and his bag before rushing out the door
“Finally i thought i might have to leave you” she grumbled before noticing his bag “you're really bringing your work stuff there?” She asks, looking at him with a confused face “you’ll never know when you’re going to get inspiration!” Miles replies with a grin before turning the radio on “You so dumb” gwen says with a fond smile as they start driving.
