I groan silently and look at the clock to see how much longer I have to endure this misery. I would so teleport out of here but I gotta listen to Aunt May I groan again I swear if I hear Flash make one more comment on his stupid internship or anything about me I will go to prison I feel my heavy eyelids drooping when the screeching bell rang
“Thank god” I mutter with disdain I reach for my bag when the teacher clears her throat “Class! Before you leave there is an extraordinary surprise,” Mrs. Daver says with an excited face, “we get to have a field trip to the one and only stark industries!” the kids start yelling and screaming, I scrunch my face in discomfort from the loud noises.
I raise my hand and start talking when I see her nod toward me “How did the school pull that off, don't they usually not accept field trip requests?” I question curiously she raises her eyebrows and looks towards Flash as my mouth forms an “o” shape as I nod. He smirks cockily “You're all welcome”
I see Mrs. Davis, sigh in annoyance “That's enough Eugene, everyone please come get your permission slips and have them signed and turned in by tomorrow.” the class collectively nods and we all grab a slip and leave the class
“Excited about the trip?” MJ questions without looking up from her book as I'm grabbing my stuff from my locker. I roll my eyes in annoyance at that question. “Hell no. This trip will just be yet another excuse for Flash to brag about how he was chosen as Tony Stark's intern like the brat he is.” I say bitterly
“Take that back,” a voice from behind us says. MJ and I turn around to see Ned Leeds, my ex-best friend. Me and Ned randomly started to get distant but one day before homecoming flash was throwing a party but of course, I was not going to go. So instead I suggested we watch a movie, play video games, and have some pizza at my apartment. I waited for Ned to show up for far too long but then MJ texted me and it was a video of Ned, the same Ned supposed to be at my apartment, at the party laughing at all of Flash’s taunts and jokes about me. I was so pissed that he had lied and also laughed at the jokes of a guy that we both hated, at least I thought we both did.
When Ned finally showed up we had the worst argument I've ever had. “What the hell Ned! You went to his party?” I shouted at him
“Get off my back it was just a party!” Ned retaliated with the same loud voice as me
“Yeah by the same guy who tormented us through middle school till now”
“You mean you, he never once tormented me,” Ned sneered “It was always you.”
“And who do you think kept you from being tormented?”
“I never asked you to stick up for me”
“That's what friends do!” I yelled louder than before
“We were never friends!” he froze after the confession. Both of us were silent not daring to talk
“What did you say?” I whisper my voice wobbly from the tears threatening to fall.
Standing up abruptly “Nothing I’m going home.” he says without looking at me he grabs his stuff I can't let it go that easily so I use my magic to bring him back he looks up at me afraid. I chant some unknown words making his eyes glaze over “I never wanted to be friends with you the only reason I did was because my mom wanted someone who would be a good influence and when she met you she thought that was you. All my feelings were fake I never loved you or even liked you, you were just a crossdressing fag that everyone felt sorry for. I just hung around you until I could find actual friends.” I froze after hearing the confession the tears falling down my cheeks a sob caught in my throat.
“Get out,” I say quietly he opens his mouth to object “ I SAID GET THE HELL OUT OF MY HOUSE” I scream with tears bobbing down my face. Ned turns with his head facing the ground to not look at Aunt May.
“Mrs. Parker,” Ned started but was cut off by her glare as she slammed the front door open and pointed. As he stepped out the door slammed on him. She turns around and pulls her sobbing nephew into a bone-crushing hug letting me cry into her.
“What the hell do you want leeds” MJ snarked without looking up from her book.
“You should be thanking Flash for the field trip not talking bad,” Ned says smugly
“Do you really think we give one flying fuck about that?” I say raising my eyebrows mockingly and silently using my magic to tie neds shoelaces together.
He rolls his eyes “Whatever you are just jealous.”
MJ scoffs “Of what? His bigger ego?”
“And his lower I.Q,” I add with a smirk that angered Ned. “Well, as much as I would love to stay and hear you talk about your one and only love flash we have to go so see ya hopefully never.” we both turn and leave as Ned tries to follow but falls straight on his face due to his tied shoes. MJ smirks with a slight breathy laugh. “Hey is it cool if I hang out at your place Aunt May is working late tonight and she won’t get home till tomorrow morning,” I ask
“Yeah I guess but what about the signature for the field trip?” she responds with a raised eyebrow
“Oh easy, Aunt May allowed me to use magic for signatures if needed. Watch.” I pull out the slip and wave my hand as the signature slowly appears on the line.
“Damn Parker you're making me jealous,” MJ says with her slight smile reserved for me. I smile back as we continue to walk towards her house.
