Chapter 6
"You ready?"
"Hell no."
Daisy laughs at Billys regretful response. They had pulled up to the yoga place, a small store in a plain white building. Billy had been quiet on the drive over and didn't miss the side glances from Daisy.
A bunch of newer songs had played on the radio and every once in awhile, Daisy would break out into song and drum on the steering wheel. Billy would smile at the way she flowed with the music. It reminded him of all those nights on stage. It made his heart tug and cheeks burn. It made him feel all the things he wasn't supposed to.
"Cmon, class starts in five."
Daisy shuts the car off and opens the door, stepping out of the car. Billy follows her. The California sun was extra beaming today and Daisy had tied her hair up into a ponytail. It swung as she moved and Billy found himself only being able to stare at the red hair as they walked up the steps.
The yoga studio is, to Billy's surprise, full of women and men. He was scared he would be the only man there but a few different dudes were stretching in corners or having conversations. Daisy holds the door open for Billy as he takes in the world around him. Daisy goes to the front desk and chats with the assistant and Billy watches as they laugh together. After a moment, Daisy gestures to him, making him put up a hand in return. The assistant hands Daisy a little plastic card and she's writing something down when the door opens behind him.
"Uh- Billy Dunne, is that you?"
The voice makes him freeze. Everything he'd been preparing for in this dream was gone. His lungs grew heavy and his body was shaking.
He turns to see her.
"Holy shit. Daisy actually got you to come!"
Camila stands infront of him. Her sweet smile is still the same. Her brown eyes and smooth skin both move as she smiles at him. Her brown hair was now not long and straight as he remembered, but layered and curly.
She was here.
She was real.
What the hell was this place?
"Come here. Give me a hug."
Camilla wastes no time rushing forward and hugging the stunned Billy. There was no way. No fucking way.
Camilla was here.
This didn't feel like a dream anymore.
He could actually feel her, hear her, smell her.
He only just begins to hug her back as she lets go of him, the sweet smile still on her face. She readjusts the yoga mat strap on her shoulder when a blur of red hair almost takes her out. Camilla yelps in surprise and happily hugs Daisy back.
"Nice to see you too Dase."
The two women sway alittle as they hug before both pulling away.
"You will not believe the morning I've had-"
"Oh trust me, I heard her and Jules talking all about it."
Camilla and Daisy lock arms and begin to walk past the still shocked Billy and into the women's changing room. Billy watches the brown and red heads disappear before he finally breathed again. A long exhale is released but his world is still shaky. He plops down on the windowsill next to the front desk and puts a hand to his chest.
A panic attack. He hasn't had one of these in awhile. He had one when he found out about Camila and one again after her funeral. So it'd been a while. His doctor had given him coping mechanisms and some medication but Billy always forgoed the meds. Camilla had always been there to help when they got bad. But he didn't think this Camila would do the same.
This wasn't a dream. He was sure about that now.
But then where the hell was he? How'd he even get there? How had this all happened?
His hand lightly bangs against the window glass as he lays back onto it. He breathed in and out as slow as he could, trying to bring his heart rate back down. The compressed shirt really wasn’t helping either. It felt as if his body was tightening on itself. Why the hell would he even wear these in the first place?
“Billy?”
Camilas voice breaks through. Billy opens his eyes and sees her kneeling under him. Her eyes are full of concern and Daisy is right behind her, something off in her eyes.
“Billy? Billy, can you hear me?”
Billy nods and Camila goes through her bag for a moment. She pulls out a star-shaped packet and placed it in Billys hands. It’s ice cold and brings Billy back almost immediately. She watches as he slowly breathes and blinks, the world around him coming back in perfect vision.
“Billy. Have you been taking your medication?”
The voice comes from Daisy. Her voice isn’t sweet or kind. It’s urgent and demanding for an answer. Camilla hears it too and places a comforting hand on his knee. He almost faints at her touch.
“No. I-I forgot.”
Both of the girls sigh and Daisy seem to grow stressed. He took medication? Why? And why did Daisy seem to stressed? Was it something he did?
“I think we should skip out on yoga for today, hm? Maybe just shoot straight to my house?”
“Camila you don’t ha-“
“Eddies waiting for us and Julia would love to be able to see you guys before she leaves. Besides, you know Annies probably already at the house.”
Daisy nods at her comment. When did that happen? Somewhere between the midst of his panic attack, he’d missed a ton of information about whatever the hell was happening.
“Sure. We’ll follow you.”
Daisy and Camilla both help him stand from the windowsill. Daisy slips their hands together and places a kiss on his shoulder. The contact makes a rush go through him but he can’t stop staring at the brown hair leading them out of the studio.
