Chapter 1
Rain pattered on the street, making the apshalt shine with oil runoff while litter floated and drifted along the road. Due the storm, not many civilians were out, most huddled inside likely bingeing their favorite show for the umpteenth time, which sounded really nice to Pavitr at this time. Maybe some chai too, to take off the bonechilling cold of the rain.
No matter. He had Spidermaning to do and a girlfriend to get back to. He just a few minutes left and then he could just…be. Unfortunately, it seemed the multiverse had other plans.
A prickle on his side warned him making him shift his body in the opposite direction to dodge a bullet aimed directly at his torso. Still, he felt it graze and scrape part of his suit and skinaway. This caused Pavitr to softly swear under his breath, exhausted. Why was the universe always after him, he grumbled to himself. He looked around, deducing where the gunshot must have came from and saw a hooded figure in alleyway. The area had the proper angle too.
Pavitr swung onto a rooftop looking over the alleyway the person was standing,wary. The figure looked fearful and looked at the pistol in their hands with abject horror. Their hand were shaking, which caused them to drop the pistol. With a hucciped sob, they sprinted awya, muttering apoligies under their breath repeatedly. Pavitr could just barely pick up the numerous Sorrys with his enhanced senses.
Welp, that gave more questions than answers.
