Part 1
Foggy put down his briefcase.
There's no so much things inside. The law firm he set up with Matt went up and down, and finally ends with Foggy's revocation of his lawyer professional qualification certificate.
"You are Matthew Murdock's best friend, while he has been Daredevil as a masked vigilante for years."
Foggy didn't deny.
"And we think it is impossible that you're not knowing anything about it. You should have been accused of covering up, but the procurator decided not to. Still, we have to revoke your license, it is the rule."
Foggy didn't deny that either.
He went to see Matt before he left Hell's Kitchen, He was buried besides Karren, there's no decorate for his tombstone, just a simple, pale cross, in front of it are few trophies, but most of them are flowers.
"They are afraid of been remembered by… you know, by…"
That name was seldom been mentioned nowadays, like the you-know-who. But Foggy didn't hesitate out of fear, he just…… he just doesn't know whether he could hold the hatred of this name, not going too out of control to continue his narration.
"By the Kingpin." He finally squeezed these words out of his teeth. "They're afraid of Kingpin knowing them came here to pay you a homage, and get his revenge.
"I can understand this, Matt, I can understand, life have to go on and they…… they are just…… Matt, but I don't know what I am angry about."
"Actually I knew it deep down, Matt, but……"
"Matt, I don't know why they hasn't changed anything. I don't know why they are so indifferent to your death. No one DARE to come to your funeral, no one DARE to mourn you, no one DARE to do anything, no one DARE to fight back!"
"Like your death worth nothing."
"Matt, there's no one dare to go outside at night now, Hell's Kitchen became worse and worse, robbery, murder, rape…… the gangs became more and more active and reckless, Kingpin's force has wildly increased…… Matt, if feels like everyone is blind, and no one could see hope."
"You remembered Gladiator, right? He came up again, just before you dead. Someone looked for him, they want him to take park in their criminal career, so they stimulate him, made him became the Gladiator again. But been brutally kill by him."
"Now the police has controlled the Gladiator, but he was accused of murder."
"Matt, life has to go on, but why people would rather bearing than fighting back? Why nobody does anything when Bullseye killed you, why they so fear?"
"I have no idea of this answer, Matt, and I don't want to know it. And that's why I plan to leave The Hell's Kitchen."
"I'm disappointed by this place, Matt, maby I'm not such brave either."
Part 2
I was told that that lawyer got his license back at San Francisco. That finally make sense, he always a very nice and serious man. As for me? Those who revoked his license in New York is the real Punk. He didn't do anything wrong! Anyone who is a human would have done this. I mean kept a secret for friends or something like that. I mean, these are not murder or something, and people even will do these either.
Of course, I am too certain for that, asshole could be everywhere, so Murdock…… he's a very lucky man to have Mr. Nelson. But he worth it.
I may gone too far, so let me tell you something about Hell's Kitchen recently. It's hard to find times that's quiet, there're more and more people came here to mourn you Mr. Murdock, they will even pray, pray for being braver. And yes, we are fighting back now.
Maby realities are not so beautiful as it sounds, and the truth is it's really a little bit ugly. We began with guilt, with blood on our hands. And the blood wasn't come from the villains, it came from our long-gone hero. Our indifference finally leads to a bitter consequence, and we will still suffer, because of our cowardice and weakness.
We endured, we put up with it for a long time. The media and the police together glamorizing for a peace picture, but everyday there are more and more innocent life die a violent death in the streets. We used to take the guardian of our heroes for granted, and we take our selfish as an excuse to not fighting for ourselves and others. So now we are losing more and more things that we could have. Rights, choices, and even Lives.
Our waken is simple but irony. I mean, there's one day, we, all of us, suddenly thinking: How could we endure life like this?
How could we endure these tramples, these insults and those reckless plunder?
How could we face the long-gone hero, and how could we face all his sacrifices?
How could we tolerate these without doing anything, how could we not saying anything about it, how could we turn a blind eye to all these things?
Should we wait for slaughter after we lost the hero who used to protect us, and gave up what the hero used to fought for?
So yes, we finally started fighting back, with guilt, shame and anger. We set up a fraternity with the leadership of other vigilantes, we organized teams that not in control of the police station, and established our own radio stations, so that more people won't have to live under the oppression and domination of the media. We resist, we fight, and we expose.
Also, I was told that Mr. Nelson will come back soon, and New York will resume his license. And as for the Gladiator, I heard that Mr. Nelson will defense for him.
Marr, can I call you Marr? Or Daredevil?
Hell's Kitchen is getting better. We have lost a lot, but things are getting better.
