Intro
Peter is fidgeting in his chair nervously.
Like he has during the entire practise. It is almost time to leave and he knows Mr. Harrington will tell the decathlon team about the field Trip in a few moments.
Peter can't wait to see their faces. He imagines their reactions in his head already. He eyes Ned carefully in case the boy faints in his seat. Wouldn’t be the first time.
His line of thought gets distracted as the teacher indeed clears his throat to get everyone's attention ones more.
"Good work everyone, before you go I have an announcement to make."
Everyone gets silent immediately and all eyes are on Mr. Harrington.
Peter can feel the anticipation in the room.
Peter's heart starts racing now and he holds his breath.
"As you all know, we get to go on a field trip once a year. I am excited to announce that we got invited to...Stark Industries."
The room changes from silent to chaos. Everyone is freaking out except for Peter.
After all, he planned the whole thing with Tony. A big silly grin spreads over his cheeks at the class reaction.
His Decathlon Team has worked their butts off the last year and achieved great things. So they got invited to a field trip to SI. Peter's second home.
"Everyone listen please SI send us NDAs each of us has to sign. Please take one of those and the usual slip for your parents to sign. See you all after the weekend! Enjoy yourselves!"
They all take the documents needed and rush out o the room. Peter takes his and looks at the two papers.
It will be great!
Jen will be their guide she is great at doing these field trips and is always full of contagious energy and excitment.
It will be awesome and Peter is more than happy that Ned and MJ as well as the rest of his friends will get this opportunity.
Ned has been dreaming of coming to a field trip forever.
He actually has visited the Tower multiple times before and got a private tour from Peter but according to his best friend: 'this is different Peter. Getting an official tour by an actual SI employee is something completely different.'
Peter's murmur of: ' I am an actual employee at stark industries.' are also completely ignored.
So they are doing this.
Monday arrives faster than Peter can blink. After spending Saturday at the tower and going over their plans for the field trip, Peter feels ready.
Now they are on their way to Stark Industries. The excitement is palpable in the bus. Even Flash seems too out of it for his usual bullying.
Everyone talks about speculations of what they might see.
Peter finds it very amusing, since he can hear everything just fine and knows what they'll actually get to see.
Peter's own nerves are high rocketing. There is so much that could go wrong. Tony promised not to get involved but there are enough other factors that could ruin this day for him. For example if his class was to find out about him working here.
Peter doesn't like being in the spotlight and living in complete anonymity at school is a blessing he cherishes a lot.
Well Jen the tour guide knows. She also knows not to show any recognition when seeing him. He trusts her. It will be fine.
The bus arrives and his whole class gasps in awe at the ridiculously high building in front of them. Mr. Harrington tries to get the attention of the young group. When nobody listens to him he decides to just move on. Peter sends him an apologetic look.
They start to move towards the entrance and Peter feels like his teammates would absolutely be jumping in their steps if they could.
"Duuuuuudeee!" Ned elbows him absolutely stunned.
"I know. It's epic." Peter agrees, being blown away himself every time he uses the buildings entrance. It's damn impressive, like what even is his life.
MJ is already skrippling in her book while walking, trying to catch the many ridiculous faces of her teammates.
Peter can't stop smiling. MJ is just wonderful, a little scary and keeping to herself a lot but Peter likes the mystery. He also feels honored she led Ned and him be her "friends".
Ned is about to have an aneurysma by the time they enter the lobby. Peter is trying to calm his friend down before he passes out from hyperventilating, when he hears the tour guide greet them.
Let's say Peter almost joins in with the aneurysma.
"Midtown High, welcome to Stark Industries my Name is Harley Keener and I'm your tour guide today!"
