-Enid, do you have plans for this weekend? - Wednesday asked while her fingers pressed the keys of her typewriter, taking the wolf out of her thoughts while she read a magazine from phone. Enid looked up from her and looked at her gilfriend slightly confused.
- I don’t think so. Why do you ask? - Enid left her phone on the bed and walked in the direction of the black-haired woman who had her back turned in the opposite direction. Wednesday could feel those steps that were slowly approaching towards her and before it arrived, she turned around to face the girl. Enid put her hands on Wednesday's shoulders.
- Don't be scared, but...- the girl paused before continuing speaking.
- Ok, never say that again because I'm definitely going to scare myself. - replied the blonde opening her eyes more than normal. Wednesday took a long breath and continued speaking.
- You see, my parents seem to be too happy to find out that we are girlfriends. - Enid outlined a big smile. The girl felt very accepted in that strange and gloomy family, much more than she had felt in her own.
- No one can resist my charms. - Said the wolf trying to sound serious, which didn't work out because she let out a big laugh when she saw Wednesday's look.
- Sure, you're irresistible. - the girl replied as she took one of Enid's hands and caressed it. - The thing is that they want to have a party to present you in front of the whole family. - Wednesday could see the panic on Enid's face, this was definitely a great pressure on the wolf's shoulders. All her life she had sought to fit in everywhere, her mother was obviously never happy with this and was largely to blame for the feelings of inadequacy that Enid felt from time to time. Wednesday got up from his chair and brought one of his hands to his girlfriend's face to try to calm her down.
- It's part of a long tradition, you know. It will only be a few people, nothing to worry about. You already know half of them. - Wednesday was right. Enid already knew her family very well and got along wonderfully with them, she could do the same with the rest. The wolf smiled and closed her eyes as she felt the touch of Wednesday's hand on her skin and leaned her face closer.
- Alright. - replied the blonde. - Tell your family that they must be prepared and ready to receive my charms. - Enid had learned to use funny phrases as a defense mechanism against certain moments.
-Thanks for accepting.- Wednesday looked Enid up and down. - Now I will have to call my mother, give her the good news and put up with her monologues for 2 hours. - said the girl as she returned to her seat to continue writing.
- Don't be mean to your mom. I think she is great.- Enid replied as she went back to her bed.
- You say that because you haven't lived with her for 16 years. - said Wednesday typing on his typewriter.
- Oh, you should see my mother, you wouldn't last three days in that house. - joked the blonde taking her cell phone.
The next day, Wednesday contacted Morticia through the crystal ball she had been given. The woman was really happy to talk to her daughter so she received her with a big smile and warm words of affection. His father was also in the same room so he took the opportunity to greet her.
- How is my little poisonous scorpion? - Gomez asked trying to appear in the image of the crystal ball, without success.
- Concentrated on delivering on time all the tasks that they decided this week and overwhelmed by the lack of imagination and inspiration to continue my novel. - replied the girl with a serious expression.
- Ah, the funny life of the teenagers. - Gomez sat right next to his wife.
- Wednesday darling, I'm sure you'll get through this writer's block, I don't doubt your intelligence to finish those tasks either. - Morticia fully trusted and knew her daughter's capabilities. Wednesday just nodded at these words.
- Well, I was speaking to let you know that Enid agreed to go home for the party. - When pronouncing these words, the faces of Morticia and Gomez lit up, they both looked at each other and broke into a big smile.
- I'm glad Enid said yes.- Gomez said.
- Tell her not to worry about anything, I'll help her choose the perfect dress. - Morticia said as she gave a little applause as a result of happiness.
- The family will be happy to meet her. - Gomez was also very excited, this was something that did not happen every day.
- Lurch will pick you up on Thursday right after school, okay? - Morticia said, again Wednesday just nodded.
- Mother, I must assume that this party will not be something massive, right? I don't think Enid feels comfortable around so many strangers. - Morticia looked away and Gomez too.
-Just family, my little storm. - Gomez replied somewhat nervous, Wednesday could notice.
- As your father says, the party will be just family. - Wednesday raised an eyebrow a little unsure of her parents' words. She knew her family had too many members so she doubted it would be a "small" party.
- That reminds me, Uncle Fester won't be able to go to the party. - Gomez tried to divert the subject.
- Will Uncle Fester not come? - asked Wednesday somewhat disappointed.
- In his last letters he said that he is imprisoned in a monastery for stealing the offerings.- Morticia replied.
- Typical Fester.- added Gomez
- Oh Gomez, we'll have to talk to Flora and Fauna, they're going to be very upset, you know they don't miss our parties.- Morticia replied. Gomez nodded silently. -Everything so that Enid feels comfortable. –
- Mother, please don't do something so ostentatious. - suggested the girl. Morticia looked at her somewhat offended.
- Of course not honey, it will be a simple “welcome” party. - Wednesday knew that those words were nothing more than vile lies, her mother loved to do and organize this kind of thing and she knew she couldn't beat her. The black-haired woman took a long breath.
- I think that's all, I must go. -
- See you on Friday honey.- Morticia replied, waving a goodbye with one hand.
- Take care of yourself my little demon. Say hi to Enid for us. - Gomez said imitating Morticia's gesture. Wednesday then ended the call and put the crystal ball back in its respective case. The days would definitely go on forever until Thursday.
After classes, both girls went up to their room to look for their bags and find Lurch in front of the Academy entrance. Upon entering the car, they noticed that Thing was in the passenger seat, Enid greeted him with great enthusiasm, this last time, the hand spent some days at the Addams house and others keeping Wednesday and Enid company at the academy. Of course, when she found out about the relationship between the two girls, she decided to give them a little more space so as not to interfere between them and for their relationship to flow smoothly.
The trip to New Jersey was uneventful, Enid spending much of the trip showing Wednesday some music videos. What Enid never expected was that her girlfriend would discover a taste for a certain singer's videos. Wednesday had no idea who Lady Gaga was, but upon watching some of her music videos, she was amazed by the woman's aesthetic. Enid found it funny because she would never have imagined that the girl would have such a "varied" taste, musically speaking. When the car approached the Addams residence, the wolf could see a large, dark mansion that stood out on top of the hill, definitely that was Wednesday's house.
- Did you know that my house was an asylum for the mentally ill?- Wednesday asked, somewhat excited to tell Enid those details, clearly her face did not reflect feelings at all, although the wolf knew her well enough to notice the almost imperceptible changes in her tone of voice when she talked about things that interested her.
- It must have been a very good asylum.- Enid replied, looking at Wednesday's face.
- Lurch was a patient at that asylum.- said Wednesday. Enid turned pale when she realized that they were in the same car.
The car entered the Addams family grounds and the wolf could see a large water fountain positioned right in the middle of the place almost in front of the entrance to the mansion, a graceful sculpture seemed to be stabbing another and an unknown liquid came out of it,it was a red liquid that filled the entire fountain. Enid preferred not to think about the composition of that liquid. Beyond was the private cemetery of the Addams family, multiple sculptures adorned the place, some larger and gloomier than others. Lurch stopped the car in front of the mansion's entrance and while the girls and Thing got out of the car, he took out the suitcases and brought them inside the house. Wednesday took Enid's hand when she noticed that the girl was somewhat nervous and together they entered the house. There Gomez, Morticia and Pubert were waiting for them, the youngest son of the Addams family ran into Enid's arms, surprisingly, the little boy had developed a great friendship with his older sister's girlfriend. Pubert thought that Enid was the coolest person in the universe since she could turn into a werewolf and that, quite simply, was the coolest thing in the world, Enid for her part felt a certain fascination and intrigue for the face of the little boy who, with his short four years old he had an elegant, well-shaped mustache just like his father's.
- Enid! - shouted the boy running towards the girl. Enid released Wednesday's hand and reached out to hug the little boy.
- Pubert! How have you been? - asked the girl lifting the little one in her arms.
- Dad taught me how to control a machete and Pugsley helped me plant some mines in the yard. - replied the little boy with a big smile on his face. Enid was nervous when she found out that she might step on one of those mines while walking in the yard and that it could be blown to pieces before she knew what had happened. Pubert noticed the girl's nervousness and tried to calm her down.
- Don't worry, I dug them up before you guys got here. Willa wouldn't forgive me if something bad happened to you because of me. - The little boy assured her that she was not in any danger. Wednesday watched the little boy for long seconds without taking his eyes off him.
- You did well to take them out, little brother. - answered Wednesday, Pubert smiled at her.
- What a joy to have you here again. - Morticia said approaching the girls. Enid put Pubert down on the floor to greet Morticia who greeted her with a big hug while caressing Wednesday's face at the same time. - You don't know how much I missed you. - Enid returned the hug and Wednesday stayed in his place.
- Get comfortable girls, I want to show Enid the ballroom where we will hold the party on Saturday. - Gomez said approaching the group. Morticia broke the hug so the girls could go upstairs to their room. Despite the size of the mansion and the multiple rooms it had, Enid always preferred to sleep in the same room as Wednesday, it was almost like having a sleepover every night, which strangely they never did at the academy despite sharing a room. When they were in Wednesday's room, their suitcases were already there, so they decided to tidy up a bit and then lay down on the girl's bed.
- Does your house have a ballroom? - Enid asked intrigued, she knew the mansion was big but not big enough to have a ballroom. Wednesday agreed.
- And a torture room, a greenhouse and an underground vineyard. - answered Wednesday with all the naturalness in the world.
- Wow, that's impressive. - Enid did not doubt her girlfriend's words, she had previously been able to go through some corners of the house and had already realized those eccentricities.
- Do you really believe it? - Wednesday asked bringing her hand to Enid's face to remove a lock of hair that fell on her face.
- Of course, not every house has an underground vineyard, Wens. - Enid gave a small giggle followed by a yawn that she couldn't contain.
-If you are tired you can sleep for a while. - said the black-haired woman in a soft tone.
- Oh really? Thank you. - The wolf approached Wednesday and rested her head on her shoulder while her arm surrounded her body and brought her closer to hers. Wednesday began to stroke her hair until she fell fast asleep.
When Enid woke up, Wednesday was in the same place as before, she hadn't moved an inch, the wolf rubbed her eyes and got up slowly.
- Did you manage to rest?- Wednesday asked as she sat up in bed. Enid began to stretch her muscles while holding her arms up.
-Yes, thank you very much for being my personal pillow.- Enid replied, a small smile tugging at the corner of Wednesday's lips.
-How about we go see the ballroom. - said the black-haired woman. Enid nodded and they got up from the bed. They went up to the third floor of the mansion and there were Morticia and Gomez.
- Just in time girls, come and see the room.- Gomez said as she approached a large door. Both girls approached and the man opened it. The room was quite large, the floor had pointed designs that seemed to form a sun in the center and thousands of stained glass windows decorated the walls of the place, the moonlight filtered through the crystals forming an almost ethereal vision. Gomez and Morticia entered first followed by Wednesday and Enid. The wolf admired the place in silence.
- A party for me? Here? - asked the blonde with a big smile on her face. Wednesday nodded as she took her hand.
- Tish, how long has it been since we danced? Gomez asked taking Morticia's hand.
-Oh Gomez. - Morticia approached Gomez and turned on her own axis. - 2 hours ago? - Gomez smiled and put her other hand on the woman's back, together they began to spin and dance around the room while Enid and Wednesday watched them in silence.
- Will we have to dance like this? - asked the wolf somewhat nervous. She was not a beginner in this dance thing, her memory was very good to remember the dance steps of her favorite kpop bands, but the waltz was definitely something else.
- It's not that complicated.- Wednesday answered, standing in front of the girl, she put her hand on her back and with the other hand, she took Enid's hand and put it on her shoulder.- Just follow me.- she said again as they began to turna round the place, at first Enid was very tense, she didn't want to make any mistakes, her claws came out and retracted constantly.- Enid, relax your muscles and keep your claws, don't be nervous.- Wednesday tried to calm her down.- Now count 1,2 and 3 while we move, that will be the rhythm that you must follow.- Enid nodded and began counting the numbers as they moved. At first it was somewhat difficult, but after a few minutes she began to get used to the slow swaying.
- You see? It is not so difficult. - said the black-haired girl, fixing her dark eyes on Enid's.
- I never thought I'd be waltzing with you. - replied the wolf with a giggle.
- You can dance at the party.- Wednesday paused. - Or in your marriage. - said the girl. Enid couldn't help but blush at the last sentence and Wednesday saying it so seriously while not taking her eyes off her didn't help much. She quickly hid her face in her girlfriend's shoulder.
- Wens, don't bother me. - Said the blonde trying to sound childish.
- Sorry, I like to see your reactions. - Wednesday apologized to her. Both girls stopped after a few minutes and were able to observe how Morticia and Gomez continued to dance totally together. At that moment, Pugsley appeared, who apparently had been busy in the school's detention room as a result of a bomb that exploded in the science lab along with Pubert who was asking him about that incident.
- Hello Wednesday, Enid. - said the boy raising his hand. Enid returned the greeting and Wednesday only gave him a serious look.
- Why are you looking at my parents while they dance? - Asked the smallest one sticking his head out the door of the room.
- Agh, we better go. - Wednesday said somewhat annoyed and although she didn't want to admit it, a little embarrassed, Enid giggled and they left the room. Pugsley and Pubert followed from behind as they continued to talk about explosives, pipe bombs and stuff like that.
The next day went by quite quickly, with the preparations in the ballroom, the small banquet they had prepared and the band rehearsals they had hired to liven up the atmosphere, why wouldn't it be a true Addams party without live music. Enid was amazed, she would never have thought that she would attend this type of party, there would surely be many more if she continued with Wednesday, sooner or later she would get used to them and who knows, one day help Morticia to organize them. Enid smiled at these thoughts as she made her way to Morticia and Gomez's room. The Addams matriarch had spoken with Enid the night before to agree on the perfect dress for her. Wednesday was completely excluded from this activity because Morticia knew very well that the girl had several dresses that she could wear for the occasion, but she wanted to surprise her by dressing Enid so she was strictly forbidden to appear in her mother's room while Enid was inside. The wolf was standing in front of the door of the room, she didn't dare to knock until she heard Morticia's loud high-heeled shoes approaching the door, so the girl acted as if she had just arrived. Morticia opened the door to see if Enid was there and greeted her with a big smile.
- Enid darling, come in. - The woman put her hand on the girl's shoulder and introduced her to the room quickly, making sure that no one was spying.
- Enid, I know you like colors a lot, but I wanted to try to see how you would look in some more... darker tones. Do you agree?- Morticia asked before opening the closet and showing the girl the possible outfits she had chosen for her. It was true, Enid loved colors, but thanks to Wednesday she had learned to love black.
- Sure, I'm willing to try everything. - Said the girl still a little nervous. It was the first time she had interacted so much and alone with his girlfriend's mother.
- Excellent. As you know, Wednesday does not find fascination in clothes like me and what to say about the boys, none of them are lovers of dresses, unfortunately they inherited Gomez's legs so they think they would not look good with them, I am really happy to share this hobby with you.- Morticia said stroking Enid's head. The truth is that she hadn't enjoyed her mother's company in that sense either, Esther was always more concerned with encouraging her wolfish side over the human side and not to mention clothes, if it were up to her, Enid would have inherited all the used clothes from his brothers, with Morticia all this was different, she felt that she fit in very well with her.
-Thank you, I am also very happy about this. As you know, my mother and I are not as close as I would like so we have never done these "girly things" - Enid replied a little crestfallen. Morticia approached her and gave her a short but loving hug.
- No problem, come and see what I chose for you. - The woman went to the closet and took out several dresses which ranged from a burgundy almost identical to red wine, blue, gray and black. Enid was almost certain that she had several thousand dollars on her hands at that moment, so she treated each item with the utmost delicacy.
She modeled each of the dresses that Morticia gave her and they both came to the conclusion that one in particular was the perfect one for this occasion. They decided to keep quiet until the day of the party so that Wednesday would be surprised to see her appear in the ballroom in her dress. Enid said goodbye to Morticia and headed to Wednesday's room. The black-haired woman was oiling her old guillotine.
- I see that from the smile you have on your face, your meeting with my mother turned out well, right? - Asked the girl taking off the gloves she had on her hands so as not to get dirty with the oil.
- Pretty good I'd say. - Enid replied running towards Wednesday to hug her, she was really excited for the party.
- Be careful, you can get dirty. - Said the black-haired woman without opposing the hug, but being careful.
- Oh I'm sorry. - said the wolf, distancing herself a little while checking that there were no oil stains on her clothes.
- Wait a minute, let me change my clothes and we'll continue with our conversation. - Wednesday said walking to the corner of her room to get rid of the apron she was wearing over her clothes. Following this she went to her bed and sat on it. She made a small gesture with her hands, hitting her legs and Enid understood the signal perfectly, the wolf sat on her girlfriend's legs while she entwined her arms around her neck.
- Tomorrow you will be speechless. Enid joked.
- I believe you, I'm sure you'll look beautiful with whatever you wear. - answered Wednesday seriously. The wolf blushed a little and giggled again.
- I will definitely fit in well with the rest of your family. –
- Of course, after all it's you. - Said the black-haired woman as she approached Enid's face to give her a tender kiss on the lips. Enid caressed Wednesday's face without breaking the kiss. Wednesday moved away a bit and Enid could see up close a small smile on her girlfriend's lips, that smile that made unexpected dimples appear on her cheeks, dimples that almost no one had been able to see, Enid felt lucky enough to be able to do it. With his finger she touched that place on Wednesday's face making it disappear.
- Haha, I love your dimples.- Enid said, pressing her finger against the girl's skin. Wednesday only watched her for a moment, but Enid could see tenderness in that look.
The big day had arrived, from early on noise and movement could be heard in every corner of the Addams mansion, some cleaned, others decorated while Morticia directed everything. Gomez and the boys cleaned some swords that they would use as decorations at the party while Wednesday and Enid helped move some tables and other objects to make room for the dance floor. Around 7 pm the first guests began to arrive. Morticia greeted them at the entrance before meeting Enid to help her get dressed, put on her makeup, and get ready for the party.
Wednesday on her side, got ready in her room quietly, the girl chose a black dress with a somewhat risky neckline but that surprisingly looked very good on her, with one side higher than the other and vice versa at the bottom. Wednesday let her hair down and put on a necklace consisting of multiple small skulls, a gift from Uncle Fester. When she was ready, she left her room and headed to the ballroom to wait for her girlfriend. The music resounded throughout the mansion announcing that the party had begun. Upon entering the room, Wednesday got a big surprise, indeed her parents had invited only their closest relatives. The problem? His close relatives numbered almost 60 people and some more kept coming. The girl was pulled from her thoughts by a tall young man with a prominent hunchback.
- Hello Wednesday, you look very good. - said the boy greeting her.
- Lumpy, we haven't seen each other in a long time. - Wednesday replied returning the greeting. At that moment Pugsley approached them, the boy looked very elegant in a black suit, behind him came Pubert, with his mustache perfectly groomed and in a suit.
- So, today we will meet your girlfriend, right? - asked the boy somewhat intrigued.
- Enid is great! She's a werewolf - said Pubert really excited.
- Oh really? Worthy of Wednesday. - replied the boy. Wednesday was just patiently watching the door, waiting for Enid to make her entrance. Suddenly the door opened and her mother peeked through the door. Wednesday felt her heart race inside her chest cavity.
- Attention! Attention please! - Morticia said entering the room alone. The band stopped playing music and all the guests turned their attention to where the woman was.
- Tonight the dance and the party are for our dear Enid Sinclair. - Morticia paused as she applauded and all the guests followed her jovially. - For those who don't know, she is the girlfriend of our beloved Wednesday, we hope that the family knows how to welcome her and give her the love and support that only the Addams family can give.- The applause and shouts increased at that moment. Morticia smiled and searched the crowd for Wednesday, when she finally found her, she winked at her and pushed the door wide open for Enid to enter.
The poor girl was too nervous, but she felt beautiful and she knew that Wednesday would support her no matter what. She advanced slowly until she could see everyone inside the room. She could see many smiles and surprised faces in the crowd until his eyes focused on a very familiar face. Wednesday looked beautiful with her hair down and her dress.
Wednesday thanked the evolutionary chain for having his jaw attached to his skull thanks to the temporomandibular joint, otherwise she would have hit the floor when she saw his girlfriend appear in the living room.
Enid wore a form-fitting black dress that seemed to be made of velvet, and an abundant neckline of feathers adorned her shoulders and the middle of her torso. Wednesday walked towards the girl without thinking of anything else until she was at her side. Her expressionless face seemed to be illuminated by a divine light. That light was Enid.
- You look beautiful, Enid. - said the black-haired woman as she took the wolf's hand. Enid couldn't help but blush.
- You look amazing too. - said the girl caressing her girlfriend's hand. Both girls walked to the center of the room and took the position to start dancing. Morticia made a sign with her hands and the band began to play. Wednesday guided Enid gently, and although the wolf lost her pace a few times due to her nerves, Wednesday was always there to help her. In the end, all the guests applauded fervently and this was followed by the much feared presentation to each of the guests. Enid could only smile and have small conversations with the Addams family, Wednesday did not leave her side at any time. The most repeated comments were about how beautiful the wolf was, some more foolish ones joked and flirted with the girl, but when they saw Wednesday's murderous look on them, they immediately withdrew their comments. As they greeted the last of the guests, Wednesday took Enid's hand and together they left the room. The black-haired woman headed towards the family cemetery where no one could disturb them.
- I never thought your family was so big. -said the wolf observing the statues that were in the place.
- What you saw are our closest relatives, many more were left out of the party.- Wednesday replied, leading Enid to a crypt that had a shiny marble seat. The grave of her great-great-aunt Calpurnia Addams, burned as a witch during the Salem witch trials.
- Wow, well, I like big families. - said the blonde laughing. Wednesday watched her in silence for a few seconds. She couldn't put into words what she felt at that moment, she felt too lucky to have a person like Enid by her side. Enid noticed her girlfriend's insistent gaze.
- What? - Asked the girl pulling Wednesday out of her trance.
- Penso che tu sia la cosa più bella che abbia camminato sulla Terra (I think you are the most beautiful thing to walk the earth). - answered Wednesday in his perfect Italian.
- You know I don't know Italian. - the wolf complained. Wednesday approached Enid and kissed her tenderly surprising her.
- I think you are the most beautiful thing that has walked the Earth. - the black-haired woman said again. Enid smiled at her and moved closer to her again to kiss her. Wednesday stood up and took Enid's hands, the black-haired girl began to spin around the cemetery, dancing to the beat of the music that was heard in the distance interspersed with Enid's little giggles.
Without a doubt this would be a party that they would remember for a long time.
