in for a bad time
You blinked a tired eye open. Everything throbbed in pain as you tried to move just a bit, which you soon gave up. "Well well someone's awake!" You groan at the sound of the voice. Just hearing it for a day already got annoying to you. They grip your hair making you look up at them. "Now do you feel like telling me where your lover boy is?"
With only one eye open you try to give off the best glare you can muster.
"Like I said I don't know where he is!" They let go of your hair and give you another slap. "You better start thinking and fast! Jigen is gonna pay for what he cost me and you just might see how angry i can truly get!"
They walk away leaving you to think about how this all happened. How the greatest fear the both of had came true.
You had just went out for a breather and to maybe get some lunch. The new story you had was giving you a hard time and Mac wasn't making it easier either. Maybe you shouldn't have taken the short cut that you usually take to get to your favorite little Cafe, but you did. And thats when the guy came from behind you and hit you making you black out.
And it's not like you could tell him where Jigen was. You both made it a point to never tell the other was at for this reason. You only know when something came up on the new about Lupin and it's been about two months and the last you heard was whatever happened in Cairo, so who knows where they could be. All you know is that your tired and desperately want a pain killer. "Jigen..."and with that you go back tona painful sleep praying that jigen would find you or at least was okay.
*somewhere in (looks at a map) Nigeria *
"Hey Jigen did you get everything?" Jigen let out a tired sigh as he waked into the temporary hide out. Since Cairo they had to keep their heads down for a bit. "Yeah yeah." He places the paper bag on the old table and rummage for a back of cigarettes. It since they were in deep hiding it meant he couldn't see you for a couple more months.
Lupin fiddles with the TV, smacking the side of it to try to get the waves of of static to stop, which seems to work.
" Now on to troubling news-"
"Pass me one?"
"Here" jigen passes a cigarette to Lupin while he gets his matches.
" We have received word that world new reporter (Y/n) (L/n) has gone missing!"
Jigen felt his heart drop
He couldn't have heard the TV right...right?
"Oh hey its that reporter guy!"
They show the picture of you Which makes everything worse
"They were last seen leaving the our news paper site two days ago and haven't been seen since. However detectives already on the case and here's local reporter Adrian Decoy with live reports."
Jigen doesn't hear anything at this point besides his heart beating. Doesn't care about the reporter doing the coverage or the fact the Inspector Zenigata is working your case. His heart dropping and dread was now being washed out by anger and rage.
"I'm going."
"What!?"
"I need to go!"
Lupin jumps from the chair and hold back Jigen while Goemon also trys to help. "What's wrong with you! We're already in deep enough trouble you can't leave!"
"You don't understand I need to go or they're gonna die!" Goemon get Jigen back enough to see their friend face. They have seen Jigen push to his limit before but they have never seen look scared.
"Jigen. Buddy you need to calm down. What's going on." Jigen breathes trys too... he looks anywhere else but the TV. "Come old friend tell us what is troubling you maybe we can help." Goemon adds.
"Fuck....okay. okay fine.... I was gonna need your help anyways." His breathing finally evens out just enough to start explaining. He tells them the story how you both met and how you both continue to meet after that. How your friendship grew more into love and how you both have been keeping it a secret for years. "Whoever has (y/n) knows about use...they took him because of something I did and I need to get him back."
Lupin mouth was open completely in shock while Goemon kept a neutral face.
Lupin snapped out of it eventually. "Okay okay...well help. But I hate to sat Jigen old pal they might have to stay with us. If word get out even more that you have a lover who knows who else would come out of the word work."
"Yeah...I kinda figured..."
"Do you think Fujiko is willing to help out?" Goemon asked.
"Knowing her it'll cost us a favor, but I think she'll be willing." Lupin takes out his phone and get ready to dile Fujiko "Well? Go get us a reporter!"
*time skip*
It wasn't that hard to convince Fujiko to help out even if it was just for a plane ride back. Jigen will thank her much later however, right now his mind was only focused on you. "Got any ideas where to get started Jigen." Lupin asked once they get back to their old hide out. "Not much... if (y/n) boss or Zenigata hasn't found anything then I might have to call up an old buddy of mine."
"But the person who did this has to be close right? Maybe they are somewhere close by the job to pick up on (y/n) habits."
"True... let's see if Zenigata or Mac has anything." Jigen suggested to Lupin. "I can deal with the Mac guy you deal with pop's." Lupin smirks and begins to get ready for his disguise to see Mac while Jigen and Goemon go talk to Zenigata, who surprised to see them here. "And why should I tell you anything?" They got Zenigata when he stepped out from the police building. "(Y/n) is a friend of mine...I just want to help." Jigen wasn't gonna reveal the truth to Zenigata about him and (y/n). The less people who knew the better. Zenigata let's out a huff. "Fine! We think he's been taken by some mod group or a different organization. He's done a lot of investigating around he could have made an enemy or two." It could be possible. You made it a point of getting involved with your, which is how you both met in the first place. However any shady organization wouldn't dare try to kidnap you seeing how well known you are and it would bee too obvious.
No...this is personal it had to be.
Someone must know you both are together and did this because of him.
"Look if your gonna help then do it without me knowing. It's bad enough that all three of you are here and I got my hands tired up with this."
"What are you saying."
"Dont act like it's another reason why your here for him. Just do what you can and get to him." And with that Zenigata goes back into the police building. "And you beet do it fast, who knows what kind of condition they are in." And he then closes the door leaving behind Goemon and Jigen to think. "You certain it's someone else and not the mob?" Goemon questions as they think over about how you were kidnapped. "I'm sure...who ever did this wasn't hired to do so...it would have been a clean getaway so someone has to know about us." They talk more until Lupin is running to them with his disguise still."Lupin?" He stopped right infront of them breathing hard. "G-got news!" He takes a deep breath before he talks more. "I ...I was talking to Mac like you said when they got a letter." It happened quick. Lupin had been asking questions acting like he was sent by the police when a letter was delivered. Mac had opened it thinking it was regular mail when he saw the photo. He screamed and threw the letter on the desk and Lupin quickly picked it up. The picture was of you tied to a chair and bloody and bruised. He quickly told Mac to not say a word yet as he took the evidence to Zenigata.
He hands the letter over to Jigen but stopped him. "Just brace yourself..." Jigen, with a shaky hand, opens the letter. The sight of you was bitter sweet. At least your alive but your hurt. He looks away to read the letter.
Now that your here let's play a game. You might have beat me all those years ago, but I'll assure you only one of use will be leaving. How about hide and seek with pistols!? Meet me at the old Iron works five miles from the town. If you win you get your little lover boy back.

From Cain
That's someone he never thought he would see again. "Well...what is it you want to do Jigen?" Goemon moves to stand by Lupin ready from what Jigen would say. Jigen let's out a breath and looks to his friends. "I need to get ready...you two stay behind get ready for a quick getaway." He folds the letter back up and hands it to Lupin. "Give it to Zenigata later." Jigen need to get ready.
*time Skip *
"Wake up!" You startled at the man banging the metal beam next to you. He grins. "Got some luck! If I had to wait any longer I would have just killed you but look!" He moves so you can see the screen he brought in. The footage was of Jigen walking into the building. "Your knight in shining armor is here for you."
"DONT YOU HURT HIM!" You yelled despite the pain you felt from doing so. Your voice had went raw from screaming. He then gives you hits you on the face. "Belive me Jigen had this coming when he embarrassed me! And guess what you get to see his down fall." He then drags your chair to the other screens. "Hope you enjoy the show." And he walks off closing the door leaving you to watch the fight.
"Jigen...be careful." You cried out.
Jigen walked in fully ready for the fight. Lupin and Goemon had barked a bit further down the road when they dropped him off. The plan they had came up with was for Jigen to still fight Cain while Lupin and Goemon went in to save you. The letter was given to someone to deliver to Zenigata which ment he should be getting it soon and would be on the way. Which ment Jigen had to make this quick.
"It's been a while Jigen. Never thought you would be the one to take a lover." Cain let's out a shot. The game has begun and Jigen is more then ready to settle this. "And with (Y/n) (L/n) world reporter too! Never saw that coming." A shot is fired close to Jigen which makes him tumble away from it. Thought the floor of the old building is open and doesn't have much to hide its still very dark in some spots.
Jigen ducks behind an old desk and cocks his gun."I see your still upset about when I kicked your ass!" He's hoping to get a rise out of him so he can find his spot. "Your little stunt cost me my reputation!" Jigen rolled his eyes "not much of a reputation to begin with." And moves to get into a better spot before another shot could hit him.
At this point you are trying everything to get out of the dawn chair but nothing works. Cain is getting close to Jigen and all you wanted was to run to him. "Come on come on!" A third shot echos but it's from Jigens gun hitting Cain thigh. You look at the screen to see Cain stumble a bit before he started rapid fire where jigen was.
You didn't known if any of the shots hit Jigen, but the scene just made you more frighten. You try harder to get out going so far as making the chair fall on the floor in hopes of braking it. "Whoa! Hey don't hurt yourself!" You look up to see a familiar read suit jacket and Japanese katana. You take note of the whole in the wall as they both enter the room.
"Lupin...Goemon?" Goemon puts his katana way as he and Lupin rush to you. "Mr. (L/n) nice to meet you in person. Thought I wish it was under better circumstances." Lupins adds as he sits the chair back up and he and Goemon began to untie you. "Can you walk?" You give a small nod. "What about Jigen?" You hear another gun shot. "Jigen will handle your kidnaper, but we need to get you out of here." Goemon places a hand on your shoulder. "You must trust Jigen will handle this." You take a moment but agree.
They both help you up and get you out of the room where Goemon cut a whole at. The signature yellow car is waiting below. "Hold on!" And the three of you escape the building. Goemon helps you to the back seat while Lupin speaks into the watch that they rescue you. Jigen feels relief once hears it from his ear piece. That means he can go all out. He pays little mind to the wound on his shoulder as he gets ready to take his shot. He doesn't pay any attention to the world's that leave Cains mouth, all that matter to him was that your safe and he can put an end to this.
He takes the first shot making sure to hit Cain in the hand. He ducks and gets ready for another shot that is aimed at the knee.
He goes for the other knee and hand later before moving our of the shadows to Cain laying on the floor bleeding and crying out. "How many know?" He looks down at him. His eyes emotionless as he looks down at his enemy's. Cain grins "what do you think!" A bit of blood dribbles down the corner of his mouth. Jigen bends down and grabs Cains chin. "WHO ELSE KNOWS!?"
"Who doesn't know..." and he proceeds to pass out leaving Jigen to grow more passed off. In the distance he can hear the wales of the police cars, but he grips his pistol in heavy debate about letting Cain live or die. Death would be too easy for him and going to jail would be easy to escape from. He shoots once more aiming for a spot what would hurt and bleed slowly letting Cain life up to whatever death had in store for him and quickly runs out.
"Your really pushing it ya know!" Lupin skids the car and opens the door for him and they quickly speed off into the night.
Jigen stays by your side the whole night as take you to the hospital near by.
Three bursesd ribs, a hairline fracture on your jaw, and a concussion.
Maybe he should have killed him
"Hey..."
He looks over to you to see you looking at him with a smile. "Hey...don't speak your throat must hurt." He leans over the bed to place a kiss on your forehead. "Jigen." You grab hold of his hand which stops him from getting even more worried. "(Y/n)..."
"..." You let out a sigh
"How bad..."You whisper gently
"Bad...he got you good....he also told other about us." You held his hand tighter now. "How do you want to do this?"
He brings your hand to his lips and give you a kiss. "Lupin says it okay for you to live with us at the hide out....him and Goemon are packing your stuff up now...I don't want you to be alone."
"It's for the best...I don't mind being closer to you Jigen. " He nods "rest...well talk more once your well rested." Before he move his hand away from you grip it a bit harder. He can see a bit of fear in your eye... a silent plea begging for him to stay.
"I'll be here...I won't leave you again. "
Eventually you do go to sleep and he steps outside the room to see Zenigata standing in the hallway. He motions for Jigen to follow him.
"So you and (Y/n)?"
"Yeah..."
"Explains a lot....Cain is dead by they way. Died on his way to the hospital." Jigen felt slightly satisfied by the news but the damage is done. "We left out you and (y/n) form reports so the public doesn't know."
"Thanks."
"Let me know when he gets better."
"He gonna have to stay with us...Cain let others know...so he's no longer safe...but I'll tell you when he's better."
"That's probably for the best..."Zenigata sighs and looks back a Jigen. "I'll make a statement to the public keep your three out of the story. " Jigen gives his thanks and goes back to your room and stays by your side. It took time to have you healed up enough for him and the others to move you to the hide out where you would be staying...permanently. Not that you minded, if anything you hoped it wasn't too much trouble for Lupin and Goemon to move your stuff here. "You feel okay." Jigen asked quietly one night. "Somethinsg still hurt but...I'm happy to be here with you." You mutter with a bit of sleep in your voice. "Ime happy your here too (y/n)" and he brings you closer to him while you both sleep.
