"So Time and Reality go to a bar and Time says, what's the difference between chaos and mischief?"
"We are very different." Wanda said coldly.
She was should of been Dreamwalking to possess that other her that had Tommy and Billy, but instead she was at a bar with someone she never personally met but had seen on the news before.
Loki. God of Mischief. Thor's brother. It was his first invasion that led to Thanos's inevitable arrival. To Vision's death and her own temporary one.
This Loki dressed similar to horned fiend in news reports but not the same. Instead of sleek gold the horns were dull in colour and engraved with runes perhaps. The whole outfit is more humble looking in a way, but Wanda could sense his powers are on par if not more powerful than hers.
So she played along for now.
"I don't know. Both of us are magic users with brothers. Both of us have powers beyond what most mortals conceive. And both of us are doomed to be villains and to sacrifice."
Wanda saw his cape change to thick glowing green strings for a moment.
"I have sacrificed enough." Wanda stated.
"Perhaps, is that why your traversing the multiverse? To get your just dues?"
Wanda shook her head.
"I am here because of love."
Loki smiled as summon two flutes of champagne.
"So am I. It's why I sacrificed. I know how your story ends Wanda but for now, a toast. For loving others."
Wanda hesitatingly grabbed a flute and clinked it with Loki's.
"For love."
She sipped at it and found it tasteless.
"Oh did you think this was real? I mean you could probably make the drink real but I can't. This is just an illusion, a story."
"Is this how you spend your days?" She asked.
"Not at all. This my first trying this but I thought that two beings that are powerful in the multiverse would get along fine. You were a strand of a story weaving into other strings so I was capable of grabbing it and talk to you. Although, maybe next time I'll try with Space or Power, those two girls are younger but much more polite."
Wanda frowned.
"Do not stop me again God of Mischief or else you will regret it."
"It's God of Stories now actually. But that's fair Scarlet Witch. You can return to your story and I can return to my glorious purpose."
As Loki stood up she found herself curious.
"Are you really here because of love?"
He turned to face her with sad eyes paired with a small smile.
"Yes. I love my friends and didn't want to be lonely, and yet now I am here. But I do not regret it. I suppose that's where you and I differ."
