One.

Reviewing everything that's ever happened to him, the only good thing about Viktor's life was probably Heimerdinger taking him under his wing.

Sure, he met Jayce and created Hextech. But was it all worth it if he ended up in the hospital bed anyways?

He had limited time, Viktor understood that.

What he didn't understand was why he was still being shut down by Jayce and the rest of the Council.

Even that, he sort of understood. Who would listen to the poor, dying crippled boy from the Undercity anyways?

That's what led him here.

The ledge.

The same one he saved Jayce from all those years ago. It seemed like it never happened, considering how much worse the two have been since everything.

Viktor adjusted the crutch under his arm, taking a step forward.

Just, one sign. One. And I won't do it.

He waited. And waited.

No sign of anything. Not even Jayce.

Ironic, he laughed to himself.

He was the one that started this. The one that saved Piltovers 'Golden Boy' and the one that broke into Heimerdingers office.

And nobody was here for him.

He was gonna end it.

It was a shame, really. Viktor had dreams but knew he'd never be long for this world.

He just didn't expect to feel so hurt from it.

He didn't expect his death to be like this. Not alone, he expected that, but on his own terms.

He took another step to the ledge. He thought about everythings that's led up to this. Things he did and didn't accomplish.

Viktor smiled at certain memories. Creating the little boat that led down the stream of chemicals that was eating away at him now, floating in the air with the one man Viktor trusted his life with.

That part was on him. He got too attached and depended on Jayce. It wasn't fair to either of them.

But still, a little voice in his head told him "Hey. He loves you back. Don't give up hope." but he knew it was just the kid part of him talking.

He wasn't worthy of love. Especially Jayce's. Viktor just wished he was here with him. To comfort him or at least look him in the eyes like he used to before Hextech got Jayce ranked higher.

Viktor was conflicted now. Great. He hated being indecisive. It was his worst flaw. If he wanted to leave this world the less painful way everyone around him expected to go, he had to do it now.

He took another step forward, half his shoe off of the ledge.

If only Jayce would see me now. He thought, then at least he'd understand what I've been going through.

He took a deep breath, leaning his crutch along the destroyed wall. He heard it clatter just a few seconds later.

That made Viktor laugh a third time. In many ways, he was just like his crutch. Old, breaking, about to resign by falling.

He took a look over the rubble and everything. The wind chilled his face and made Viktor smile. It was cold out. And he still had his sleeves rolled up.

He would truly miss these little things, especially after a few days and Jayce would scold him for wearing such thin clothes in the fall and getting a head cold out of it.

But then the scolding would turn to worried reassurance after Viktor would have a rough coughing fit that made it feel like he was trapped in a collapsing cave.

Suddenly, he didn't miss the little things.

Viktor closed his eyes, inhaling deeply and feeling a crushing pain in his lungs.

And took the final step off.

He felt he was falling. He heard distant yelling as he fell, but couldn't make out what it was. Maybe it was him as a child, yelling at him because he wasted what he had left feeling pity.

All of his memories came flooding through like a film tape.

He could see all of them at once but at the same time separately.

Viktor saw his parents die. Meeting and "helping" Rio. He saw himself walking to the Academy when he was young. He remembers meeting Jayce. He remembers his first Council party Jayce dragged him to. He remembers Jayce.

Jayce. Jayce. Jayce. Jayce. Jayce. Jayce. Jayce. It's all Jayce.

He truly loved Jayce. With every part of himself. Viktor was in love with his best friend and he'd never forgive himself for how Jayce will take the news.

Will he celebrate? Cry? His partner, poor kid from the Undercity everyone overlooks, dead. He wanted to help save him with the Hextech. He wanted to help.

The last things Viktor felt were regret, and a sharp pain before nothing.

At all.
