Peters eyes practically bug out of his head, Karen mentally slaps herself for it. Just how stupid was that answer?

She could've just said sister or maybe even mother, she could've been a teen mom, but wife? Now peter and her have to act like their together.

"Uhhh, Yup, married,together, yup! " Peter ties his arm around her torso, she elbows him on accident, he winces " Like two peas in a pod, when we first met!" The landlord looks suspiciously at them

"Uh huh, so way wasn't she here before? Not having your wife move in?" She feels herself tear up "Well uhh sir, my mother,she-she died, a freak accident, " she breathes, trying to get into character," a cold turnip, she ate it and she was allergic to turnips,, we didn't have enough time to move in together"

the landlord looks at her "So she died of an allergic reaction? Didn't she know she was allergic?"

She didn't think about that possibility,peter suddenly butts in sensing she was in a pickle. "No she, she uhhhh died because the ambulance crashing."

She tries her hardest not laugh, and almost fails to, she puts her face in her hands, a laugh escapes her, thank God the landlord mistakes it for a sob. She looks through the crack of her fingers,he looks almost uncomfortable and  like wants to leave, good.

" Sir can-can you have mercy on us,just-just for a month just enough time to scrape up enough money, for the funeral." She mutters and looks up, eyes watery and tears threatening to fall, her voice cracks  , " please." 

He sucks air through his teeth," listen I can help you and lower the rent to nine hundred, but that it. No more,no less." 

A sob rips out her throat" Thank you,sir." Peter gently guides her inside again.'Comforting' her the whole time

Once they're sure that the land lords gone they laugh, and giggle until they're stomachs hurt, was this how you feel to be happy?

"How did you act so well!" Peter in-between his laugh

"I was an AI,Peter." She rolls her eyes at the question smiling the whole time, that is how you tease right? Peter suddenly goes quite, he's mulling over a question.

" Why did you come to life?" Karen stops to think.

" They stole it, the code, Tony didn't mentioned any of them and they weren't in the SI data base, I guess they wanted to experiment on something." 

"....Did they mention anything about alien tech?" 

"They had to restraint me with it,Peter, I suppose fought to much for their liking." Peter looks at her this time he looks grateful.

"I'm glad you're here,Karen." 

"I'm glad I'm here too Peter."
