The Madness Begins

2/14/1930, Maximus’s Chambers, Boltagon Apartments

They weren’t surprised that Maximus was causing trouble again, it seemed that more and more of them were starting to get into trouble, the experiments were being a bit more trouble and as they had started to see them all being more dangerous, Auran had nearly died from one of them if it weren’t for her healing factor, and as she had walked in, Auran Amakitsu was shocked by what she saw.

Maximus had set up what was all there as she had noticed that there was a Cocoon that had made Auran nervous, knowing that there was only ONE thing in here that could have made that, Auran had wanted to burn it, but she had decided to ignore it for now as she had went and started to look, seeing that there was some more things, ship and weapon designs that were there.

As she had looked them over, getting more and more concerned at that as she had realized that there was a person opening the door, “Auran?” he had asked and hearing that, Auran had gotten a bit more nervous at that as she had went and looked towards Maximus who had looked all frayed and a bit crazy at the moment, “Oh… I had noticed that–” “That I had found the Kree?” he had asked of her.

That had made the girl all a bit scared at that, “The Blue Angels? The ones that had created us in the first place?” she had asked and hearing that, the prince had nodded, almost as if he was possessed, “Yes! I found a way to contact them! And now I’m going to make a deal with them and and then I am going to learn more and more and more!” he had said towards her.

Hearing that, Auran had gotten worried, “Max… when was the last time you had fallen asleep?” she had asked and hearing that, Maximus had looked to the Cocoon, “Ever since he went to sleep, he wants me to keep working and working and working!” he had said and hearing that, Auran had gotten worried, “What is he doing?” she had asked and hearing that, he had grinned before going to pull out a paper.

“He is going through a transformation!” Maximus had shouted out and hearing that, Auran had decided on that, “That sounds interesting, how can I help?” she had asked of him and hearing that, the Prince had chuckled as he had went and started to explain everything as Auran had went and so she had started to see that was there before she had started to think on how she’d help him.

2/14/1930, The Royal Palace, Attilan

Blackagar was throwing a bag and as he had done as much, the Inhuman Prince had seen that Lockjaw was teleporting to before the ball had even fallen, Crystal by the side of her cousin as they had tried to bond, when they had seen that there was Auran leaving his brothers and that had made the pair of them curious, “Auran? What are you doing?” she had asked in confusion.

“Oh…” she had said, looking a bit cautious now and that had made the two of them more curious at the sight as they had been curious, not seeing that there was a little to no contact of the other prince, “I was just enjoying my time with Maximus–” “<How is he?>” Blackagar had asked and reading that, she had sighed, “Oh… he hasn’t been sleeping, but I just need something from Vinatos to fix that.” she told them.

That handmade the two royal members of the house look towards her with caution, “Is there anything that we can do?” Crystal had asked and hearing that, the girl had looked like she was thinking, “We’ll need Mesili and Gorgon for a distraction.” she had told them and hearing that, they were all in agreement with that as the three of them went to go and collect the needed tools.

2/15/1930, Maximus’s Chambers, Boltagon Apartments

Maximus and Auran had been working on the newest piece of technology that they were sent, but as they had looked at it, there was a noise that had made the two of them worried as they had seen that Mesili had been tackled by Gorgon into the lab, “What are you two doing?!” he had shouted out as Crystal and Blackagar had come in, “Fight! Fight! Fight!” Crystal had shouted as they both pumped their fists.

“What is going–?!” he had started before Auran had went and pressed the coth soaked in chloroform into his face, making him start to faint before falling to the ground, making Auran sigh, “Lightweight.” she had muttered, making the others look towards her, “What? She had asked of them, “This isn’t the first time I’ve dealt with Chloroform.” she had explained to them, taking a whiff before going to help him to bed.

“What’s that?” Crystal had asked, speaking up for them all as they had seen the globe that was there, “Nothing special, just a camera he had installed for fun and in case any idiot tried to get in here through invisibility.” she had said and hearing that, they had went and decided to just make sure that Maximus was okay for now, they could deal with the camera later if needed.

2/18/1930, Amakitsu Residence, Residential Area

Maximus had woken up in surprise as he had looked around, confused until he had noticed that there was Auran and Kitsu who were both enjoying their tea when they had seen that there was none other than Maximus awake, making him look in confusion until he had gotten worried, “Where’s Alveus?” he had asked, making the girl sigh towards him, “Still in his Cocoon.” she had told him.

Kitsu was confused by that and thought it was nothing more than Terrigenesis as he had went and gotten up, “Is everything alright? Did my experiment–?” “Everything is fine, there’s nothing you need to worry about, I finished with the schematics.” she had told him, not as smart as Maximus, but she knew how to follow instructions and was an alright engineer with some designs.

Maximus had glared at her, “Auran, can I talk to you privately?” he had demanded, his eyes glowing, his actual power working instead of the intelligence that he had acquired from his Terrigenesis, she had went and followed as Maximus looked to her mother, “Don’t remember this, don’t follow.” he had ordered as Kitsu had nodded, the two of them going and getting to a private room.

“You will NEVER do something like this to me again.” he had told her, making Auran nod at that, a bit more dazed at that as he had smiled, “Great, now don’t remember this consciously.” he had said before snapping her out of it, making Auran smile towards him, “So, did you like your nap?” she had asked of him, making Maximus nod towards her, “Yes, now can we get back to it?” he asked her and so Auran smiled.

2/22/1930, Maximus’s Chambers, Boltagon Apartments

Maximus had found a use in his friend listening to his commands, at first, when he had done that first one to stop her from stopping him, Alveus had started to convince him of a few more commands, mostly just to keep her from doing anything to stop his plans, anything that would hinder his plans, as he had watched her work, Maximus had received a message, one that made him smile, “Auran, quiet.” he had said.

That had made the girl still like the command had meant, Alveus, had went and metamorphosed into a small child, tendrils like dreads on his head as he had looked like a child, none of the others had notice while he had smiled at the Kree, “Hello again, Captain, let us discuss the future.” he had told the alien who was happy to listen to him as they had started to discuss

12/12/1931, The Old City, Attilan

Maximus had looked at their vessel, “I do this for the good of all.” he had told them, as they were behind him, “Maximus was born to be king.” he had said, wearing red robes with a golden cape to appear like the royal he was, “It’s my destiny to be king.” he had said as Alveus had nodded towards him in the shadows, “I’ve seen it.” he had said, remembering the day of his birth when he saw IT.

“I… I get these… flashes… future memories…” he had whispered, remembering all of them and how… how sad he was then, “A great city of cocoons… obsidian cliffs…” he had said before turning to them now, “…They think I’m MAD.” he had said, knowing the rumors that were whispered when they thought he was out of earshot, “You don’t think I’m mad, do you?” he had asked of The Kree.

“No.” the captain had said with a stern face, “The Kree know something of Destiny, son of Agon.” he had said, so serious, Maximus didn’t like that, “And what do you know of alchemy?” he had asked of him before pointing backwards with his thumb, “My parents… did things to me brother. In the womb. And to me.” he had warned towards the pair of them, “They’re up in their laboratory now… up THERE.”

He knew he was pointing to the EXACT place they were before continuing, “Maybe they’re watching, eh?” he had asked of them, “Maybe this is ALL their experiment.” he had told them, “My whole life…” he had muttered, his eyes growing distant before speaking again, “…It doesn’t matter. Alchemy. THAT matters.” he had explained towards the three of them.

“My mother’s Inhuman gift is to filter what enters her body. An immunity to poison that she’s learned to control.” he had explained towards the group, “She used it to purify Terrigen.” he had told them, “The Prima Materia–” “I KNOW of what you speak.” the captain had interrupted towards The Prince, “It is a legend among The Kree… and a forbidden one.” he had warned.

“My commander, Ronan, has the clearance to discuss it. But first–” “He requires proof of my absolute allegiance. He demands my treachery.” Maximus had said, looking down at the moment, “Yes, I remember.” he had whispered, “This is the moment.” Maximus had went, being a bit quiet at that until THe Kree spoke, “Then it is agreed, Maximus?” the Captain had asked.

“One day, when you have wrested the throne away from your brother…” the captain had said as Blackagar who had been taking his walk, he had heard the voices and saw the light, at least until he had heard something, “…and our commander Ronan has finally gained a position of true power…” “Why, then shall we be allies…” Maximus had said, shocking Blackagar at the statement.

“With you Kree, and we Inhumans.” Maximus had said as he had grinned, “For, your race mutated mine to its present stage, eons ago…” he had explained towards them, “…So it is quite fitting that WE rule… as your Vice–Regents!” he had said towards them and as Blackagar heard that, he was enraged, charging forth to attack them, he had grabbed one of the blasters as he had knocked out the guard there.

Seeing this, Maximus had turned to the scene before he had went and screamed out, “Agents of Ronan! Prepare to embark at once… with the weapon!” he had shouted and hearing that, Alveus had went and followed after the aliens for his part of the plan, “Black Bolt has discovered us, and the time to slay him is not yet come.” he had told them which had made them comply as he had charged them.

“Return to your empire with my pledge…” he had said before he had tackled his charging brother, “…And I shall teach this swine the prince of intrusion!” he had shouted out to his conspirators as Blackagar had thrown a punch towards him, furious in his blue and silvers against Maximus’ red and gold, “HAH! I can FEEL your loathing, my dear sibling…” Maximus had said as they grappled once more.

“Breaking upon me like some great wave.” he had told him, believing that he was jealous of his life outside of a cage, unlike him, “How your would cure me, if your voice were not a weapon beyond your control!” he had said and in anger, Blackagar had went and threw punch, hitting him hard in the jaw, but Maximus was not hurt, he had only smiled, “You’re too late, fool!” he had told him, confusion on his face.

“The Kree Ship is aloft!” he had said and hearing that, Blackagar had looked, seeing the vessel and as he had did so, Blackagar had glared before taking a deep breath, Maxius had a flash of a future version of himself, old and hooded, looking at this moment in regret as Blackagar said one word, one word that would forever damn him, “MAXIMUS!” he had said, his shout hitting him indirectly, but enough.

It had rung through his mind, he had been awake, he saw every moment of his life from the moment of his birth all the way to the last day of his life, and as he had looked at them all, every moment that had shown, how the vessel had been hit, and instead of being destroyed, it had instead veered, veered towards the building that their parents were in, it was as if time slowed to standstill.

The explosion, the destruction of the building, he didn’t need to know that the King and Queen were dead, there was no doubt, they had murdered their parents, “No…” Maximus had said, his ears started to flowing, leaking from the face and he had fallen to his knees as Blackagar had seen what he had done, he had started to grip at his head now as he had fallen to his knees like Maximus.

“I… I may have made a deal with The Kree, but…” he had said, upset as others started to approach, “…you’ve done so much worse to me…” he had told him as Medusalith had shouted out in anger, “Maximus! What have you done?” she had asked and hearing that, he couldn’t help but laugh, “What… what have I done…?” he had asked, none of them knowing what it was right now.

12/12/1931, Vinatos’s Lab, Terrigen Lab

Vinatos had sadly went and looked towards the princes, Blackagar was going through some form of shock at the moment, and Maximus… “Tell me, what is wrong with the princes?” Chancellor Arcadius had asked as Sterilon had went to check the minds of both of them, “It appears that Blackagar is shocked, traumatized by what he had seen.” Sterilon had said towards him before his eyes glowed once more.

“It appears that Maximus… Maximus is no longer safe… mentally.” he had said towards them, making the others a bit more worried at the fact as Lord Arcadius had sighed, “We’ll have to restrict him from reproduction… the possibility of this kind of madness being genetic with his potential… it is not safe.” he had said as the other members of the royal family had looked.

“Then we must proceed in searching for a new King–” “And it will be Blackagar, of course.” one of the other council members had said towards them and hearing that, Arcadius had glared towards them, “He is the most powerful, and we always elect the most powerful to become the next king when an heir is not selected.” the member had said and hearing that, The Chancellor had then given his counter.

“And unfortunately, he is not of age, so he cannot be king, at least not yet.” He had explained towards the others that were there, all looked towards him, “Then who do you think should be our monarch now?” he had asked, making Arkadine smile towards them as he had motioned, “I recommend, Monarch.” he had told them, making the group all look as they saw the young man enter.

“But he’s–” “Powerful beyond belief when he has a steady supply of Terrigen Mist.” Arkadius had said and hearing that, the others weren’t going to argue with that, all of them knowing that there was a few things that could be said for it as the rest of the Royal Children were worried at that, all of them starting to get more and more worried about what was going to be happening soon now.

12/12/1931, Monarch’s Chambers, Amaquelin Apartments

Monarch and Kadlec were both playing a game of Bak Taga with each other, the two of them were looking at each other and as they had done as much, there was a noise, making the group all look at the pair of them before they had realized that there was something odd, no, something sad, going on, “What is it?” Monarch had asked of them, making Arkadine start to clap.

The other members of The Council had done the same as Monarch was confused, “Congratulations, my king.” Arkadine had said and hearing that, Monarch was a bit surprised, at least before he had started to grin, “I grieve for The King, and will do my utmost to honor their legacy.” he had told them all, inwardly, he and Kadlec were more than happy to take advantage of the power they were to gain.

12/12/1931, The Throne Room, The Royal Palace

The Genetic Council had circled their new king as he had kneeled before them, the Royal Children all looking towards him and at the crowd that was there, all of them had clapped, a few of them cheering as they had watched it, as they had looked upon it, the crowd had celebrated the coming of a new king, they hadn’t even buried their king an hour ago and now they were celebrating a new one.

Blackagar and Maximus were both excused from the celebration and as the others had looked at all of it, looking upon the celebration and with that, Medusalith had nodded to the others, they would protect each other, making sure that no one would hurt any of them, “Come on, Lockjaw.” Crystal had said, leading the canine away as Karnak went to get a drink for his brother.

At the same time, Gorgon had looked to Auran and her friends, the three of them ready to help in whatever way that they can for them, all the while Kadlec had kept an eye on them all and as he had done so, the Seeker had wondered  what he would need to do soon, and if there was a way for him to bring a spy into the camp of the Royal Children, since it was better to have an ear listening to them all.

The two of them hadn’t even went to their quarters, too stunned by what had happened and with that, they were too distraught to go past the couches that were there, both of them in their own stupor, Black Bolt still shocked by the face that he had murdered his own parents with his voice while Maximus was still trying to understand everything that he had seen in that attack.

The Inhuman was still trying to understand why he had seen his past… his present… and even some sort of horrid future, his powers had never done that before and it was MADDENING that it had happened, taking a breath, Maximus had realized that he was alone, all alone with Alveus dead, when he had realized that there was a knock on the door of their apartments.

Before there was a response though, Auran had barged in, she had seen him and sighed, “I’m here, when you’re ready to talk.” she had told him, going to sit by with Medusa doing the same, the two of them being there when they were both ready, giving a comfort to the pair of them, one of them thinking that he would need to be better in his judgment, while the other thought he needed to return his best friend’s freedom.

Gorgon had entered only to see that his competition for the strongest Inhuman was coming in too, “Mesili.” he said to the older girl, “Gorgon.” She had said behind her mask before both turned and kneeled to their King, “Rise up, both of you,” he told the pair, making the two of them confused as they had went and done as much, “I had been reading some interesting outsider scripture,” he told them.

Making them look in curiosity at him, “It speaks of a woman named Medusa, as mighty as our own princess, but that wasn’t what interested me, what interested me was the fact she had two mighty warriors by her side, each called Gorgon.” he had said, making Gorgon and Mesili look in curiosity, “So I had decided to have two of my own, two that would enforce my will upon the wrongdoers as lead of the guard.” he had said.

Both of them were shocked at the admission, they both knew that this was both a leash, and an opportunity and with that, the two of them had saluted, “We accept.” they had said towards Monarch who had grinned, “Thank you, Mesili, Cousin.” he had said to them, “Now then, My Gorgons, report to the barracks to begin the training.” he said, hearing that, they went to go and do as much
