Let The Games Begin

11/3/1926, Common Room, The Royal Palace

Crystalia was annoyed as Karnak kept trying to teach her, “NO, Crystal.” he said, using the short version as Medusalith lounged and Maximus fumed with a short sword on his shoulders, “That piece only move diagonally… like THIS.” he had said, demonstrating it towards her, “I don’t LIKE this game, Karnak. Ut’s no fun.” she had said towards her older cousin.

“Pff. I guess you’re too little to appreciate a game of strategy like Bak Taga.” he had said towards her as an angry Maximus had went and flipped the table in annoyance, “It’s got nothing to do with Crystal being little.” he snapped, missing his friend who was busy training, “I’m fourteen and I HATE Bak Taga.” he said as Karnak had glared towards the older boy in annoyance.

“That’s because you’re still a mental infant, Maximus.” aKarnak told him as Medusalith went and picked the pieces up with her hair, “Will you three stop fighting?” she had asked them, “Doctor Nial will hear you and make us get back to our studies.” she said with them all glaring at that, “We’re supposed to be learning the history of Attilan.” she had told them.

At that, Crystal stuck her tongue out at Maximus as he stayed moody, “I hate Doctor Nial almost as much as I hate Bak Taga.” he had snapped, “Yes, we know. You shouldn’t tell everybody what you’re thinking all the time.” Medusalith said as Karnak had started picking pieces up as well, “And why not, Miss Prissy Princess?” he had asked of her as he stayed away.

“Because then people always know what you’re going to do next.” she said, knowing that he needed his sound board, “Whatever.” he muttered, “You’re not as smart as you think you are, Medusa.” he told her as he thought and smiled, “I say we play a NEW game!” he had declared to them, making Karnak roll his eyes, “What game is that, your Royal awfulness?” he asked of him.

Maximus had glared, but still had his smirk on as he had spoken, “Whoever makes it to The Throne Room and sits on the Throne first…” he had said to their shocked expressions, “WITHOUT and of The Grown–Ups finding out… wins.” he had told them, “Wins WHAT exactly?” Karnak had asked, already smiling as he saw himself the victor, “The eternal respect of The Three losers.” he had said towards them.

Crystal was the only scared one in this situation, “We can’t! We’ll get spanked!” Crystal had said, not wanting to be punished like that, “No.” Karnak said, “YOU’LL get spanked. We’re too old for spankings.” he had told the youngest, but Maximus wasn’t as polite, “What is it, shmoopy–poo? Are you scared?” he had asked, “She’s NOT scared.” Medusalith said grabbing onto her scared sister who was relieved at the contact.

“And neither am I. We accept your challenge, Maximus.” she had told him, “Y– Y– Yes. We re–cept your challenge.” she had said to him as well, making Maximus switch from angry to excited, “Woo–Hoo! See you idiots in The Throne Room!” he had shouted out before going and leaping off the balcony with excitement of victory, “There goes one hormonally enraged moron.” Karnak said to them.

He then turned to his little cousin, “Don’t listen to that meanie.” he told her, “Half the palace will figure out what he’s up to.” he said, the sensible part of his brain gone when Auran left him alone, “I bet YOU could sneak down without anybody ever noticing.” he had said, making Crystal perk up slightly, “Y–You do?” she had asked of him as he had started to guide her.

“Of course I do! Because you’re smart enough to take the back stairs… a shorter AND less obvious route!” he said, seeing she was about to do as much when her big sister had spoken up, “Don’t listen to him, Crystal. The back stairs take you right past mother and father’s quarters. They’ll catch you for sure.” she had said to him, “Hey–” he started when Crystal had started to shout.

“You were trying to trick me!” she screamed at him, making Karnak a bit nervous, “That’s part of the game!” he had tried to explain, but Crystal wasn’t listening to him anymore, “You’re just as big a meanie as Maximus!” she told him, and that wounded him, “Me? ME?” he had shouted out as Medusalith had taken that chance to take her leave, “Who spent all morning trying to teach you Bak Taga?” he asked.

“Who snuck you extra persimmon cake at dinner last night?” he had asked as she turned away from him, “You think I’m stupid.” she had told him, “I don’t think you’re stupid! You’re just… small!” he had said, and as she turned to say something, Crystal noticed something, “Hey… where’s Medusalith?” she had asked, making the two of them realize that they were already far behind.

11/3/1926, Amaquelin Apartments

Medusalith had went and ran down the steps fast, as she had done as much, the red haired girl had taken her shoes off as she had went and gotten ready to sneak past as they discussed, “More reports of Alpha Primitives coming up from The Sub–City. If we don’t put a stop to it–” “Calm yourself, Quelin.” Ambur told him, “The king has everything under control.” she said, not even turning as she spoke.

“Medusa!” Ambur shouted, making Medusalith pause in motion, “Where are you going with such a sneaky expression?” she had asked of her daughter, the two of them walking to the spooked Medusalith, “I’m not– That is, I wasn’t SNEAKING–” “I thought you were supposed to be upstairs with Crystal and your cousins, studying for that History Examination.” Quelin said, “I… We… We’re playing a game.” she said.

That had confused both of her parents as they had looked towards each other and then at their eldest, “Game?” Ambur had asked of Medusalith, “WHAT game?” she had asked of her, knowing that Medusalith would tell them and she was happy to not be disappointed as Medusalith had went and spoken up on the plan, none of them knowing what she had in mind as well.

11/3/1926, The Throne Room, The Royal Palace

Maximus, Karnak and Crystal were shoving each other through the door, “Out of my way! I was here FIRST!” Maximus had snapped at Karnak, “But you were too scared to open the doors without us! Karnak had snapped as they had went through and the three went and started to run to the throne, “I win! I win!” Maximus shouted out, “Cheater!” Crystalia had snapped before they saw them.

“Children! That’s ENOUGH!” Quelin had said as he, Ambur and Medusalith had stood there, the adults disappointed, “I should have known you would tattle–tale, cousin.” Maximus had said, frowning while Crystal had gotten scared, “Mama! Papa!” She had shouted in fear as Quelin approached them, “She didn’t… we caught her trying to sneak down the back stairs.” he had told Maximus.

“You all know you aren’t allowed to be in here by yourselves.” he had said as Quelin approached Karnak while Ambur looked disappointed at her youngest, “I would have expected more decorum from you, Karnak.” he had told him, “Sorry, Uncle.” Karnak had said, disappointed in himself as Quelin had opened the door, “Not as sorry as you will be when Doctor Nial finds out you three have been shirking your lessons!”

That got them all a bit worried as Medusalith stood there, smirking at them, “And YOU Crystal… you’re getting too big for pranks like this.” he said, “Sorry, Papa.” Crystal had said as they had all went and walked away and as they had left with Medusalith all alone, and she was happy to take advantage, walking over to the Queen’s throne and sitting there, looking at everything she would in the future.

11/4/1926, Maximus’ Quarters, The Royal Palace

“I can’t believe that she cheated like that!” Maximus had said, throwing a glass towards the wall while Auran had focused on his pet, “I didn’t hear a rule about tattling from Crystal.” she had said, making him scowl, “When did you start to talk to the baby?!” he had asked her, making Auran glare, “Since she’s adorable and I’ve been hanging out with the rest of your family.” she had told him.

That had made Maximus scowl, angry at the thought before he had seen that she was trying to touch his pet but it kept hissing towards her and staying away from his touch, “Why doesn’t your worm thing like me?” she had asked him, making Maximus curious, “Come on Alveus, why don’t you like Auran?” he had asked, making the worm rise up and hiss at that, “Because she is not an Inhuman, she is an abomination!”

That had made him glare, “Auran is NOT an abomination!” he had said, making Auran glare “You think I’m an abomination!” she had shouted out in anger to him, making maximus realize that he had said it out loud, “No! Alveus does!” he had said, making Auran turn to him and shift into her other self, having been trining on how to use it and snarled, but he had just hissed at her.

She had turned towards maximus with a glare, “If we’re going to hang out, Alveus has to not be around,” she said, makin the creature about to hiss again when she spoke, “I don’t care what you do on your own, but in the lab or outside, he stays here, savvy?” she had asked of him, that made him nod while Alveus had chuckled, “You have quite the mature servant.” He had said to Maximus.

“Deal!” he had said, going to hug her, but Auran stopped him, “Outside your room.” she said, “I don’t like the way he’s looking at us.” she had told him as Alveus had just glared, the two of them in agreement as they had went to go and play with each other while Alveus had watched and knew that he was going to have to do something about her if he wished to keep a hold on him.

12/1/1926, Triton Alcove, Western Attilan Beach

Kitsu was sitting on the western beach, looking out with Triton swimming around before he had lifted his head up towards her, “Kitsu!” he had said as his mother had walked over, “I heard from Sterilon that there was a boat approaching with a familiar presence there.” Azur had said and hearing that, Kitsu had taken a breath as she had went and stood up at that.

“Should I go through?” she had asked and hearing that, Azur had went and had summoned her submersible, “Yes, lets.” Azur had said and hearing that, the two of them had went and headed towards it, “Triton, stay away, understood?” she had asked and hearing that, Triton had went and nodded towards him before going and sitting onto the ledge and watched as they had went forward.

12/1/1926, The Corsair, Atlantic Ocean

John Howletthad looked on from the bow of the ship his memory was flawless and he knew that this was the area where they were, taking a breath, the Stranger had went and looked towards the others that were there before he had realized that there was something… something wrong which had made him start to smell which had made the man look to the crew, “Captain, hold the ship.” he said.

That had confused the man as he had went and did as much, the vessel beginning to slow before there was a mist that had started to rise up, confusing them at that when the mist had went and started to restrain them, making the crew all look in confusion before a orb had risen up with a pair of glowing eyes, “A Kraken!” one of the crew members had shouted as the mist had reformed into tentacles.

They had went and started to scream and tried to stop them from all being strapped to the walls and such before one of them had went and grabbed oJohn who had went and just stayed there, accepting the fate that was before them when it had went and been devoured by the bubble which had made them all scream in panic at that as he had seen what was inside there.

John had looked around in confusion before they had seen and realized that there was a pair of women that he had recognized, one was Azur, the wife of Mander, the other though, that was the one that he was looking for, “Kitsu.” he had said with a smile, approaching her when she had went and raised a pistol towards him, “How the Hell did you do this?” she had asked, “Sterilon wiped you.”

That had made John sigh at that as he had brought up a map, “I had some assistance.” he had said and hearing that, the two saw the map that was there with all of the coordinates that had been spread out before they had eventually converged upon the same location in question which had made them all look at him in confusion at that as they had sighed.

“You can never come back to Attilan.” Kitsu had said to him, as sad as him at that fact, “I know…” he had said towards her, that had made the two women confused, “I just wanted to see you one last time, and get a photograph if I was so fortunate.” he had said and hearing that, the two women had both looked in surprise at that as Kitsu had smiled, “I wouldn’t disappoint.” she told him.

After the photograph was taken and they were sent on their way, Azur had looked towards Kitsu in surprise at that, “Why didn’t you tell him about Auran?” She had asked of her, making Kitsu sigh at that, “Because if he knew about her, then he would NEVER stop, that I know.” she had said towards her and hearing that, Azur had went and gotten a bit worried at what Auran would know.

______________________________________________________________________

At the same time, John had had looked towards the photograph that was there, he would have them all paid for the trip and the silence, and as he had went and put it into the photo case that he had there before thinking on a smell that he had gotten from her, it was from something… someone that had made him think of his family, of his little brother back when they were young.

He had no idea why that was so, but from what Phaeder had told him, there was a high chance that they would be sending out more and more to find and discover more of the outside world, so that was fine, John had centuries, he can wait, according to the woman he sold his blood to, he would be seeing her blood back out of the island, until then, he might as well make it presentable for when she comes.

12/1/1926, Amakitsu Residence, Attilan

Kitsu had went and entered the house where she saw her daughter and Maximus playing together, though there was a blush and it smelled off there, “Mom! I thought you were working with Lady Azur for a few days?” she had asked, making Kitsu sigh, “Well, sorry to stop whatever… THIS is.” she had told her daughter, “But Azur gave me the rest of the time off.” she had told the two.

“Why?” Maximus had asked, curious as they had seen that there was some sort of mood that she had right now, “Maximus, I need to speak to my daughter, alone.” she had said and hearing that, the two of them had looked at each other before they had decided that it wasn’t worth it as Auran had went and looked towards her mother, “What’s going on?” she had asked.

Hearing that, the older woman had sighed as she had went and started to take a breath as she had spoken up, “I saw your father again.” She had said and hearing that, Auran had looked around, excited, “Wh– Where is he?” She had asked, wanting to meet the man when Kitsu had sighed, “I’m sorry, but he can never come back to Attilan, I… I had to turn him away.” She had told her daughter, saddened.

“Did you get another photograph?” she had asked of her in a whisper, wanting to have another image of the man, hearing that, Kitsu had smiled as she had went and revealed the image for her daughter that she had acquired, “Here you are…” she had said as her daughter had taken it, looking at the image of the man that had helped give her life, that had made her the way she is.

He was a stern looking man, Auran saw that expression on her face every time she had looked in her reflection, his hair was long, but it was in a ponytail while he was wearing a coat that was dark blue, “He called that a duffel coat.” Kitsu had said to her daughter as she had looked at everything, he was like a tree, something tall and beautiful, but there was also a harshness and solidity to his form.

“Now then.” she had said before taking the small box which had the original photo, Auran had looked at the two of them, seeing the contrasts, “I want to meet him.” She had said and hearing that, Kitsu had sighed, “I know… one day, out there, somehow, but one day.” she had said and hearing that, the girl had hoped that one day was soon because she wanted to meet him soon.

12/31/1926, The Market Place, The Royal Palace

The kids were walking though the Market Place and were enjoying the parade that was there, Gorgon was wearing the goggles like usual when they had noticed that Nanny was being harassed, “Hey!” Maximus had shouted out as he and Auran had ran over, “Why do you care for an Alphan? It isn’t your family.” Alveus had said and Maximus had ignored that as they had headed over.

“Hey!” Maximus had shouted, making the older Inhumans look towards him, “Why do you care, Princeling?” one of them had said as Auran had shifted and made sure to stay in the light, making her difficult to see between the pair before they had noticed that there was something off, “That’s Nanny! The caretaker of The Crown Prince! You can’t hurt them like that!” he shouted.

That had made them glare towards him and hearing that, they had went and readied their gifts and weapons towards Nanny again before they had seen that they were starting to rise up, confusing them at that as The Alphan had appeared to fly, “Impossible!” “Alphans cannot fly!” “This is so strange–!” they had started as the third was punched by Mesili.

Her and Gorgon had went to go and help Maximus fight them, the trio were older but they had their strengths against the bullies, meanwhile on one of the buildings, Auran had looked at Nanny, having placed her carefully onto the roof, “Are you okay?” Auran had asked, shifting back to her human form as Nanny had nodded towards her, making Auran smile at that until they saw something.

It was a blonde boy that was looking down at them, staying up in the air as if he was standing on the ground, he had looked towards them, “You’re the Prince’s friend, right?” he had asked of the two, both of them nodding at that as he had went and floated down before grinning towards them, “I can rush over and get you some medical supplies if you want?” he had asked of her.

That had made the two of them smiled at that, glad for it as the boy had went and flown up, “Who are you again?!” Auran shouted, “Aireo!” he had shouted out, making both of them nod at that as they had went and looked back down, seeing the victors and the losers, Auran had shifted back which had relieved Nanny as they had went and headed back down to the street.

The three of them were all sitting on top of each of the one that they had beaten which had made the others smile and like that before they had seen that the two of them had descended towards them while a little flying boy had went and came with medical supplies, “You’re okay!” The kids had went, most glad that Nanny was safe before the boy had come down.

“Here you go!” he had said and hearing that, they were relieved, Crystal had looked at Nanny, remembering when they had helped her and others when they were sick while his worm had went and touched Aiero, making him seem to smile wider as he had looked towards him, it was odd, but they were having a good day, and none of them knew what was up next for all of them in the coming year.
