It’s Timeeeeeee~

“Yo, psst Miles.” She whispers.

At no response, Gwen sighs and looks over to see the boy slumped on his chair. “Are you really sleeping in class right now?” Miles lets out a little groan of acknowledgement before picking his head up.

“Nah, about to though. ‘Have a headache from first period. ‘Should be illegal to learn science so early in the morning,” He sulks as his head starts aching even more from the bright ass lights his teacher has on.

“Oh yeah dude, that sucks. But like, do you have question 7 or no??”

“You’re the worst.” He groans as he puts his head back down.

“Yeah, at math problems. Now chop chop math boy.”

Even though she can’t see, he still rolls his eyes as he slides his paper down to her. Siting next to her is a blessing and a curse. “I finished everything so knock yourself out.”

“Jesus, can you be my tutor?” She says incredulously as she inspects it. It doesn’t seem wrong, but she hasn’t been a good judge of that ever since letters got added into the mix in 6th grade.

“Sure, but after I take a nap.”

She rolls her eyes as she quickly scribbles down the answers and slides it back. If their teacher saw she’d probably have a hissy fit and throw them out her class, she’s strict like that.

Bored, she decides to sneakily pull out her phone. The internet here sucks, but it’s better than nothing. She wonders if Mrs. Jess would give her the internet if she asked nicely. Likely not, but Mr. Peter B probably would. Miles is one of his favorite students right?

Well whatever, for now she’ll just scroll through some of her old messages. They’re entertaining enough.

Heh. Miles is such a simp. Liking a guy after just meeting? Couldn’t be her. He sent her 5 whole paragraphs the day of talking about how he hopes he’ll see him again. Oh wait- isn’t that- it is!

“Hey Miles, aren’t you forgetting something?” She says amusingly as she taps Miles’s head with her pencil. “What?”He said irritated, his headache wasn’t getting any better.

“You know that one guy you were obsessing over last week? Do you still want to see him?” She said while snickering. “Dude be quiet,” he hissed, finally looking up at her, “But yeah, why?”

“Isn’t he supposed to be skipping right now? You said that he doesn’t like his teacher on Tuesday second period.”

Her words were repeated over and over again in his head like a broken record.

‘Isn’t he supposed to be skipping right now?’

Yes, he is.

“Oh my god. I gotta use the bathroom now.” He says happily as he immediately raises his hand to get their teachers attention.

“You do?” She teases. “Good for you. Make sure to get his number this time.”

“Yeah yeah- uhm Mrs. Susan may I use the bathroom,” he said enthusiastically as his teacher looked over at him.

“Uhm yes you may…” She said awkwardly as she stared at him. He must really need to use the bathroom.

“Thank you!” Miles practically shouts as he ran out the room in seconds. Weird kid.

As he left, he pulled out his phone to check the time. Damn, he only had 10 minutes before class ended. He should be able to get Hobie’s number in that time right?

Yeah, he has to. He’s been thinking about the guy all week! It’s actually kinda concerning, but getting his number should help right? Right?

As he excitingly ran around the corner. He looked down at his uniform to make sure nothing was wrong. Okay, be cool Miles. Super cool.

With his little pep-talk and adjustment of his tie, he gathered the confidence to walk into the bathroom as casually as he could in that moment. The bathroom still stunk and he still has to hold his breathe. And if he wasn’t so desperate, he would leave it. Just like last time.

The only difference is that when he sees someone at the ledge he wants to sit on, blankets and chips in his lap, he still plans on sitting there.
