Summary
Mobius fell first, but Loki fell harder.Title from Labyrinth by Taylor Swift, because she seems to be the patron saint of the Lokius fandom.

Everyone (except Loki) knew that Mobius had fallen in love quickly.

It was no question that Mobius had admiration towards Loki before the god himself had stepped into the TVA. But when they started working together, sharing a cubicle and all, it had become pure love.

He wouldn’t acknowledge it, though to be fair, he didn’t need to; the people around him already knew, he already knew.

At the thought of Loki being in love with Sylvie, he felt absolutely sick to his stomach. The sickness poisoned his words, his thoughts towards himself. That feeling had eased slightly when Loki had taken him into that crushing hug when they saw each other in the Void.

It made his chest hurt, having the arms of the man, the god, that he loved wrapped around him. It hurt knowing that this would possibly be the last time they would see each other.

The pain had turned into a flutter of hope when Casey went up to him and told him that Loki was there, trying to find Mobius.

When Loki knew, more so realized, that he was in love, it felt like being knocked down a mountain in an avalanche without warning.

Maybe there were a few warnings. Prickles on his skin where Mobius had touched him through his shirt. A flutter in his stomach when praises were thrown his way.

And maybe the fall was more literal. When Loki had come crashing onto the gangway as he was pulled through time. As he collided into Mobius, who had literally put his skin on the line for him, and they held each other through the fall.

It was when Loki had caught his breath and a moment to think that he realized he was in love. The force of the realization shook him to his soul.

He’d had relationships before. All failures. It scared him, embarrassed him. He knew that Mobius had probably seen those previous failures. It was also scary because Loki thought he had been in love before and this feeling was entirely different.

Sometimes when he was around Mobius, it was hard to speak, or even to think. Mobius would grab him and his heart would race. The compliments he was given would go straight to his head and make everything feel fuzzy.

But neither of them knew what was happening in the other’s mind. Everyone else did, sure, but they sure as hell didn’t. Casey, B-15, even Sylvie knew it and just had to watch them flounder.

Mobius might’ve fallen first, but Loki had fallen harder.
