She came to this room twice a week.
Someone had to keep order, and she could not entrust such work to a stranger. She knew that only two people in the entire TVA could understand her, but they were both too busy to do such a thing.
The woman walked up to the table, took a pack of napkins from her pocket and began to wipe off the dust. The clerks working at the next table fell silent, watching her. They all knew exactly what she was doing and why. She wiped down all the surfaces and carefully blew away the dust from a folder of papers lying on the edge of the table. A sticker with a funny picture fell off the monitor and she had to put glue on it to stick it in place.
The sticker showed a little man in a helmet with horns. He frowned angrily. B-15 smiled sadly looking at this drawing. There were still a few shelves left to wipe down, as well as a pencil holder and a lamp. She put all the objects in the same places where they had been before her arrival.
Only after a few minutes did she realize that it was not only the clerks who were watching her. Casey stood in the doorway. He was clutching a stack of some documents to his chest and when she caught his eye, he smiled at her.
"Your usual ritual?" He asked quietly.
“Of course,” answered the woman. "You know he'll be back."
“I always wondered how you could be so sure of this?” Casey asked.
The woman grinned. She motioned for him to come closer.
"Have you ever paid attention to his things? The ones he left here?"
"Not really," Casey admitted.
He looked around the table. Folders with documents, some old notebooks. On a shelf near the table stood an old stuffed animal. Casey noticed that the top drawer of the desk was pulled out a little.
"Do you know what's there?" Asked B-15.
Casey shook his head.
"Loki's personal file. And one of the his old ties..."
She very carefully placed the chair at some strange angle, she left the desk drawer slightly open. Casey raised an eyebrow in surprise.
“In the last days, before leaving, Mobius tried to make it all look exactly like this. Loki moved the chair a little to the side. He is so tall, I think his legs did not fit under the table. And he pushed the chair under the wall and pulled out the drawer, to lean on his elbow. And when Loki disappeared, Mobius left everything in exactly this position..."
They were silent for a few seconds.
"He'll be back," B-15 said. "But only with his partner. I don't know how long it will take, but they will be here with us again. And this place will be waiting for their return."
