We find it hard to work out
It was an awkward morning. Steven seemed sketched out, but it was brushed off as soon as Connie came over to pick him up for whatever they're up to.
Amethyst was more out of her room, Chillaxing on the couch, or on Steven’s bed playing his video games.
“Ugh, Amethyst. This isn't even your room and you're trashing it.” A voice from the side that made her immediately drop the controller.
Pearl was picking up empty wrappers and bottles. Amethyst never thought she’d be so happy hearing Pearl complain about her, and actually say her name.
Stars grew in Amethyst's eyes for a split moment before she smiled and shrugged. “His room is already a mess!” She said, hanging her head upside down off the bed, looking at the TV with her light lavender hair pulling onto the ground.
A weight came onto the bed which made her sit up. Pearl sat there, fiddling with her hands and bouncing her leg, and Amethyst already knew what this was.
‘Please Amethyst, I need to see here just one las-’
“I’m…so sorry.”
What?
“I was so selfish…I should have never made you do any of that. I know how shapeshifting can take a toll on gems, and….It was wrong either way to make you someone you're not.” she sped talked, glancing at Amethyst.
Amethyst’s eyes glassed over as she scooted closer to Pearl, laying her head on her bridle body, Pearl's arm wrapped around her.
“It’s okay.”
“It's not though! I need to let her go! But it's so hard.” Pearl tugged at her hair, Amethyst grabbed her hand, recognized from how people do that to her when she does the same.
Amethyst nodded “We’re all hurting, P. We just have to do it together. Heal together.” she says into nothing, still curled next to Pearl.
“Right. Heal together.”
