Same Plot, New Mischief!
Air was refreshingly cool, as a breeze from stormy winds hit Loki as he rushed out of the dining room. He looks around and on a whim takes the route towards the training area. As much as he knows Thor, he is sure the Storm-wielder must have rushed to the arena to smash away his anger. Is it a wonder he became friends with that green rage monster in another world? Timeline?
Yep he was correct! Here's Thor and his band of battle loving idiots. Loki intended to listen to the conversation before entering, but an angry Thor is a hyperactive Thor, which means he heard his footsteps! Loki would facepalm if he could. He should have known this.
“Brother, don't you agree? You were the one who had the vision!”
“Agree to what Thor? What I had could or could not be a vision. Neither do we have any evidence to start a battle!” Oh no… He knows where this is going… Maybe he should play along… “You heard the reaction to my revelation, the King of Asgard has spoken, very clearly, that we cannot go to Jotunheim to start a battle to kill the Frost Giants, not without defying the King's order!” If he said King instead of Father, nobody noticed. Every one was too focused on the other part of the sentence. He could literally see the direction of thoughts Thor's brain was turning to… so lights, camera, and repeat the past action!
“No, no, no, no… I know that look, Thor!”
“Brother, we will go to Jotunheim for a ‘peaceful discussion’”
Loki knows there will be no discussion, moreover what discussion would even be there? He almost wanted to ask ‘what discussion’, but thought better of it.
“No Thor, it could be dangerous!” There, just the spark to ignite the battling heart of the idiot!
“I'm NOT a coward brother! Lady Sif, have you not broken the rules of the Asgardian army and gained your valour as a warrior? What of you warriors Three? Even you Loki, my brother? We've broken countless rules and orders and so what is this one more time? We go in peace and if required defend our realm valiantly!”
The Idiots Four nod in unison. Damn, it was far too easy to convince them this time around, that too with no direct threat to Asgard, no portals or negotiations, no tricks! It's shameful how easily all five of them jumped to battle on the slightest of spark. But then of course Thor is nervous and excited to prove himself the ‘rightful’, ‘worthy’ prince.
So there you go, here they are in Jotunheim, with nearly the same interaction with Heimdall, minus the suspicion by him towards Loki, plus the curiosity to know further about his dream.
Loki is so glad he had used the illusion of him sitting in his mage position, while wasting his time in the morning. That meant Heimdall believed that he was scrying and using seidr and not whiling away in luxury. Heimdall wasn't the gatekeeper during the previous war with Jotunheim, which meant he knew nothing about Loki's origins, making him curious as to why Loki would dream of Jotunheim. The fact that Loki had screamed while waking up made it a sufficient proof that whatever he saw was stuff of nightmares considering Loki barely screams.
Jotunheim looks the same as last time around, so while everyone is gasping and looking around in astonishment, Loki is indifferent. He quickly realises that and corrects his facial features to that of horror and makes his breathing quick! Soon enough Thor notices him, once he's over his initial reaction.
“Brother?”
“This is a mistake, Thor! This looks exactly like the backdrop of the vision. Perhaps, us arriving here is what led to it. One of the reasons I've always hated visions and scrying is that the more you avoid it, the quicker they become true! You remember Balder, don't you? He tried to avoid me, but got himself killed by a mistletoe! The means were different, but the end was the same!”
That's it, they need to go back now. There's no need for him to see any revelation, unnecessary battle injuries, sufficient harm had been done already. Time to go back NOW!
