Chapter 1
"we'll girls," alexei said with excitement as he looked at his daughters eating their dinner, "the time we take our big trip has finally come!"
the eldest daughter, natasha, stand abruptly, her chair falling over, "no, no please."
"c'mon tash! it's gonna be fun!"
"your sister is right natasha, finish your food and then we will leave." though melina sounded convincing the break in her voice was obvious.
natasha didn't finish her dinner, instead she grabbed her go bag she had stashed deep in her closet for the past three years.
alexei and melina then ushered the two girls out of the house, not even giving yelena the chance to put shoes on. in the car yelena demanded her favorite song and natasha couldn't help but think yelena was to soft for where they were headed, she would be to soft to survive training.
natasha was ten years her senior and therefore had much more training, she knew just how defenseless she would be. how defenseless she is.
as the car came to a stop natasha waited for her parents to exit before grabbing a strip of photos from the passenger seat visor. she could hear yelena complaining about having no shoes and her mother yelling at everyone to move faster.
then as they made a move to get in the plane that had just been revealed by a huge garage door, several official looking cars came speeding their way. natasha could make out the shield logo even in the distance.
she was next to yelena as the shots were fired at them. she grabbed the girl and pushed her behind her, unholstering her own gun from her waistband. she pointed at whichever car was actively shooting and managed to take out two of them.
as they got closer natasha turned to yelena telling her to hide or run or something but the girl just clung to natasha's waist, shaking in fear.
"natasha! come now!" melina yelled down to her, the plane had started and was ready.
"there are more coming!"
"just come! hurry!"
natasha struggled to move with the six year old trapping her legs together but natasha was better than that. she pried yelena off her legs and hoisted her up into the plane.
just as she did so she hear a bullet wiz by and through the front of the plane, melina was hit.
"mom? melina?!"
"mama! mama i'm scared! nattie, mama's bleeding! where's daddy? i want to go home!"
natasha took one glance at melina and knew she was gone, the bullet caused blood to start pouring out her mouth and into her lap. natasha grabbed yelena again before she could see all of her alleged mothers injury.
natasha was now caring yelena on her hip, the other hand holding her gun. she scanned the area for alexei, he was busy destroying shield cars but natasha knew they wouldn't make, there were to many cars and alexei couldn't take them all, especially since she was positive he had ben shot more than once.
she did the only thing she could, run. she ran around the garage and towards what seemed to be an opening away from the shield agents, how very wrong she was. the second she rounded the building she ran into a man with a shield issued jacket.
with yelena in her arms the only thing she could do was start running again, however the man called out to her.
"where will you go? there's nothing around for miles."
natasha stopped and looked at the man.
"let us help you, if you turn yourself in we can give you an out."
she had half the mind to shoot the man right there, but with yelena she was trapped, and she could not let yelena go into the red room.
she didn't know where she was, or what she was doing. she had no plan. so she reached for her gun tossed it to the other man and fell to her knees, cradled yelena close to her.
she hears several vehicles stop and doors slam.
"DROP YOUR WEAPON!"
natasha showed her empty hands and the man who had spoken to her turned to talk to whoever was in charge.
"HANDS BEHIND YOUR HEAD!"
natasha did so reluctantly, not want to yet go of yelena, who was still shaking in her lap.
an agent came up behind her and cuffed her tightly.
another agent comes up and starts to pull yelena away from natasha.
the scream she let out was enough to make natasha cry, but she refused. yelena was pulled away from her and natasha was yanked up roughly. the agent started pulling her towards a car and that's when natasha snapped. she kicked the legs out from under the agent walking her and ran to yelena.
yelena continued to scream and hit and kick and bite until natasha was in front of her again. yelena jumped to wrap her arms around her waist and natasha sent a glare to the man who seemed to be in charge.
"we stay together."
