Anger Can Be Caused By Miscommunication

7/9/1947, Kailani Residence, Honolulu

The two of them started to get up now and as they started to look around now, as the two of them started to get dress in their respective rooms before they had entered the common room, seeing that the two of them had been dress in civilian clothes, “Alright, let’s think on how we are going to make sure that you’re not an issue for not just me but for my people?” she asked of him.

Hearing that, Namor had looked at everything there, “I can work as a bartender? God knows that I’ve had my fair share of time in bars during the war.” he said towards her, making Kailani look at him, “I thought that you were in the Lemurian Front?” she asked of him, having stayed on the surface after the attack of Pearl Harbor, wanting to make sure that the fallout didn’t go after her people.

“Only near the end, I was fighting on the surface against groups like Meranno’s people.” he said towards Kailani which made her spit into the sand by her home, “Meranno is a plague that no civilization deserves.” she said towards him now as the pair of them had started to walk outside now, “There’s a bar that I own, The Sand Dollar, you can work there, but keep the violence to minimum against the good customers.”

That made him raise an eyebrow at that now before he nodded, “Alright then, I guess working as a bartender wouldn’t be horrible.” he said towards them and hearing that, the woman smirked, “be fore that, try making a few drinks, “I might as well see how well your skills are before I hire you.” she said towards him now which made the Prince shrug, “Why not? I proved myself on a battlefield, I can prove myself here.”

That made the woman watch as the man went to her personal bar so that he could start doing as much, the man pour the drinks together, recalling some of the lessons that he had learned on the front, his time as a teenager, Sandy telling him a few and Randall mixing a few before he create a Mai Tai for her, “Try that.” he said, sliding the drink towards him now.

The woman had picked it up now, going and drinking it now, she had been surprised before smiling at the taste, “Okay, this is good enough.” she said towards him now and hearing that, the Prince smiled back, “So then, what’s this Sand Dollar like?” je asked and hearing that, Kailani grinned, “I was inspired by this place called Madripoor.” she only said and hearing that, he grew all the more curious.

7/9/1947, The Sand Dollar Bar, Honolulu

Namor had entered the bar, looking around at everything before Kailani shouted, “Oi! Kala’i!” She shouted, making a pinkling bartender look towards the two before he smiled back towards hey, “Hey there, Kailani, whose this?” he asked of her, making Kailani slap him on the back, “This is Namor, an old friend who needs to work while she’s living with me.” she told him.

That made the man look him over with a bit of surprise before smiling, “Alright then, what are you good at?” the man asked and hearing that, Namor smirked, “I’m fine with serving drinks and acting as a bouncer.” he said and hearing that, Kala’i raised and eye before seeing his ears, “Are you skilled enough to take care Atlanteans?” he asked of him, making Namor look around now.

That was when they saw that there was a lot of Atlanteans who were around there wearing Gill scarves or the masks that were in vogue now since they were harder to damage than gill scarves as they removed them for only a few moments to drink, “I’m strong enough to take down every one here.” he said which made Kailani smirk, glad for that right now Kala’i had dragged him behind the bar.

7/11/1947, The Sand Dollar Bar, Honolulu

Namor had been mixing a few of the drinks that were there when he saw that there were a few Atlanteans who were starting to get pretty loud, they had the markings of a warriors inked on their body now as he walked over now, “ʻOi! E hoʻomanaʻo i nā lula!(Oi! Remember the rules!)” he snapped towards them now, “ʻAʻohe hakakā ma waho o ka loko.(No fighting outside of the pool.)” The man said.

Hearing that, they had stopped at that, glaring towards him but they complied, no longer seeming so violent at the moment as they had went to go and sit down now but as they had done so, the man smiled before he went and started to walk back to the bar where Kala’i and some of the others had been now, making the three of them relieved as they started to make some more drinks.

They started to enjoy their day like usual when Kailani had walked out of the pool, looking a but beaten and having a scar now, but she didn’t seem to care now as they went and saw as she saw down, “I need some bandages.” she told the man now and hearing that, Namor had went to go and grab at the medical supplies, he had went to help her but she waved him off.

“I don’t need your help.” she said towards the man with a glare as she went to put the bandages that were on the table, making the others curious, the boss lady had never told them why she had brought him here and yet had never seemed to be HAPPY, pleasant, amicable, but she had never been happy and as they had watched her repair herself, Kailani looked at Namor, “Why don’t you go in?”

That made the Prince sigh, “I don’t want to risk it, I had almost done so before and–” he started to say when there was a noise as a member of The Peterson Family walked in, “Nā kamaʻāina wale nō.(Locals only.)” the man, Kekoa, Kailani’s baby brother, had said to them, “She’s alright, Liz is Bobo’s love.” he said now which made the Hybrid pause before looking back.

“Kailani?” he asked and hearing that, the woman looked them over before she nodded, making Liz smile as the woman had walked in, looking them over, “Namor, I thought that you were living in Blue Harbor right now?” she asked him, “I had a… situation, Kailani is giving me room and board until they’re gone.” he said towards them now which made the woman curious.

At least until she saw that there was the woman who was probably Kailani, had looked her over, “So you’re the one that my friend Bobo fell in love with?” she asked as Namor had went to go and grab at a tray, “I’m going to go and serve Ulkana and Yaotl, they look like they’re ready to burst.” he said to them, making the others nod while Liz had smiled, glad to see him.

“I’m glad that one of his friends was there to help him.” Liz had told her, making Kailani give a look, “The two of us haven’t been friends for a long time.” Kailani said and hearing that, Liz was curious while the three had tried to look calm as they could, “Why is that?” she asked and hearing that, Kailani sighed  before she spoke, “I used to go to school in The Atlantis Royal Academy.” she told her.

“Me and my three older half brothers? We had wanted to help everyone, the downtrodden, the war orphans, we had wanted to make sure that no one had wanted to go through the pain of war ever again, I had tried my best, I fed whoever I can and both me and Namor had lived the lives of commoners with Nammu, Dorma and Bobo.” she said, wistful right now which made them confused.

“But things had been getting worse and worse for everybody, eventually though, even with the kindness of Queen Korra, but we were always on the precipice of war, so me and my brothers had decided something that would get us killed.” she told them, making the Maluhian Atlanteans all bowed their heads or waited right now before she took a breath, “I wanted to warn Namor.” she told them.

“I told him that there was too much pain, that we had to do something, how we planned to capture the King and Queen so that they could hear our words… he swore that he wouldn’t tell anyone, that if he did, we would all be executed.” she told them before taking a deep breath, “But he lied.” Kailani told them, “When the four of us had went to find the king but instead we found Krang and his soldiers.” she told them.

“We were only students, I used to brawl but none of us had the skills, one of my older brothers had used squid ink to cover us before they saw us all, we all swam as fast as we could, but I was the only one that was able to escape free.” She told the group before the woman started to take a moment, Kekoa went to put a hand on her shoulder which made her take a breath.

“They had been suffocated on the beach, they weren’t hybrids like me and Kekoa and– and I swore that I would never trust him again.” he said now and hearing that, the group had been shocked, the bartenders looking at Namor with some anger while Liz was shocked that the Atlantean would ever betray the trust of a friend and thinking there was definitely more to the story.

Namor had approached Ulkana and Yaotl, the latter was smiling at him, “Namor! I have good news! The Talokanil Sharka have been chased all the way to Submera!” he said now and hearing that, the Prince smiled, “But the bad news is that the bounty that is on your head is still active.” Ulkana said towards him and hearing that, Namor paused, “Bounty? I thought Attuma had told them to hunt me?”

Ulkana shook her head, “That is not true, he sent them, but the bounty was the reason, and I have not found who had set it up yet.” she said and hearing that, the man sighed, hating that there was a issue right now when he saw that there was the face of the others that were there and it had made the Prince curious by that as he went to walk over to the group, “What’s going on?”

That made the bartenders look away right now and as they did so, Liz had looked towards the man, “Hey, is it okay that I take him to give me a tour?” she asked and hearing that, the Atlantean nodded at that, “Why not? It looks like you want to have a conversation.” Kailani said as they started to look, “Fine then, let’s go.” Namor said as they started to walk out now.

They started to walk and as they had done so, the pinkling started to look towards him with a new expression now which made the Prince curious as they had started to walk towards one of the more drier areas that were there now and as they had found a place that was not as crowded as the other areas before Namor had spoken, “Is it only you or is your family here too?” he asked.

Hearing that, Liz had nodded, “My whole family is here with the Rice family, they’re enjoying a holiday at the beach over there.” she sad and hearing that, the Prince had looked over towards it now, “You know, Sandy and Beemer are getting closer to having a baby–” “Who do you let Kailani think you told your father?” she asked of him, causing Namor to pause now, looking at her.

“What?” he asked now and hearing that, the woman gave a look, “I may not have been a lioness like Sandy, but I’m not blind.” she told him, “She said the KRANG was the one waiting for them? You hate Krang, you said so yourself, the only reason you would work for him is if you were forced to by your grandfather.” she explained and hearing that, Namor had paused.

He took a breath, not wanting to say anything, “Namor, I swear, I won’t tell a soul, but you should have someone to tell the truth to, because there is no way in Hell that Bobo, Nammu or Dorma wouldn’t at least try to correct her on this.” she told him and hearing that, the Prince sighed, looking and seeing a stone, he sat down with Liz following suit, “It happened the year before we met you and Sandy…”

10/21/1935, The Royal Academy, Atlantis

Namor had been swimming when he saw that Kailani was with her brothers, smiling, he had went to speak to them, “K–” “E hoʻomanaʻo, pono mākou e hopu iā ia, ʻaʻole hiki iā mākou ke hōʻeha i ke Aliʻi.(Remember, we must capture him, we cannot hurt the King.)” her eldest brother had said, making Namor pause, confused and shocked at the sound of it, “Ua ʻae ʻia.(Agreed.)” another said.

He was shocked at what he was hearing, wanting to say something when the man noticed that there was his cousin Bobo approaching now, “Hey, Namor what are you–?” “He started before his cousin went to cover his mouth, making him confused and annoyed before he heard more, “E hana mākou i kēia pō, a me ka manaʻolana, ʻaʻohe koko e nalowale.(We will do it tonight, and hopefully, no blood will be lost.)”

Hearing that from the third brother, they started to split up, Kailani nodding towards them as she went to leave, seeing that , Namor looked to Bobo, “Move, stay hidden, I’ll talk to her.” he whispered towards him, Bobo nodding now as he went to do so while Namor had gotten into her sight now, “Ah, Namor! Are we ready for–?” “Why are your brothers planning to abduct my grandfather?” he whispered.

Hearing that, the young woman had tensed, looking around before she grabbed and dragged him towards one of the more silent corners, “Kailani! What are you thinking–?” “People are starving!” she hissed towards him, “He is more focused on making his kingdom more grand than to feed his people!” she started to say before they started to notice that there was an increase in her voice.

She started to take a breath, “We aren’t going to hurt anyone, we’ll take him away, we’ll show him what he’s doing to his people, we might succeed, we might not, we might die, we might not, but if you tell everyone what we will be doing, then there will be nothing but wrath, there will be repercussions, and there will be hurt for everyone, and in the end, nothing will change.” she told him now.

Hearing that, Namor got worried, looking at Bobo, but not seeing him at all, taking a breath, he looked, “NO ONE get’s hurt, not grandfather, not grandmother, and not any of you.” he said, making her smile relieved by that before she had went to kiss him on the lips, “Dorma is a lucky girl.” she told him, making him blush and a bit confused before the girl swam off to see her brothers.

10/22/1935, The Royal Palace, Atlantis

The palace was abuzz, Krang had captured the three Atlanteans from Maluhia, Thakorr had been livid by it, his grandmother and his mother tried to just make his exile them, but he wouldn’t have it, Death by The Land was what they would be going through and it made Namor wonder what had caused this, as he as contemplating it, a fist had connected with his jaw now, knocking him into a wall.

“How could you?!” she had shouted, Kailani glaring towards him, dressed as a servant as she had stood before him, “I thought I could trust you! I thought that we could trust you!” she snapped now towards him which made the Prince want to speak, “Kailani, I–” she had slapped him, her eyes tearing up with grief and fury, “We’re done!” she snapped at him, “May The Imperials all rot!”

She went to leave now and as she moved, there was a moment, he had went to stop her, but she slipped her hand from his grasp, “No!” she said, “I will never take another step here, and if I ever see you in Maluhia, you will die.” she promised to him before she went to leave through a window, making the Prince take a breath in worry when he saw that Bobo was looking worried now.

“Bobo?” he asked now, making the young boy seeming spooked by that right now, “I… I messed up.” Bobo said now and hearing that, The Prince had looked towards him, “I– I got cornered by Byrrah! He tricked me to tell him and– and they’re all dead because of me!” he said towards Namor and hearing that, he covered his mouth now, glaring towards him now.

“It’s not your fault, it’s MINE.” he declared in a whisper, “If I hadn’t found you as soon as I could, they would be alive.” he said towards the man and hearing that, the prince looked at his cousin, “That’s our story, I’M responsible, not you.” he told Bobo before getting him to start moving, “Now come on, let’s move it.” he told them and hearing that, Bobo gave a look while Namor made sure that he would be blamed.

7/11/1947, Honolulu, O’ahu

“And that’s what happened.” Namor told her, making Liz shocked and confused, “Why would you do that? Sure you could have stopped him, but–” “I was the mongrel that everyone thought the worse of, Bobo was the apple of our family’s eye, I was used to it and had no problem being the bad guy again.” he said now and hearing that, the woman looked towards him then to the Sand Dollar.

“Then why haven’t you told Kailani–?” “What’s the point? Things are over, there’s no way around it.” he explained to them and hearing that, the woman gave a look before seeming to smile, “Okay… how about you go and say hi to Cass? I want a drink.” she said towards him, making Namor nod now, going and starting to crack his back and smile, “Why not? I always wanted to catch up on her.” he said to her.

He started to walk now and as he did so, Liz had lost her smile and proceeded to walk towards The Sand Dollar now, the woman looked towards the owner of the bar, “Elizabeth, right? I just wanted to say–” “Shut up, you need to hear this.” She had told her now and hearing that, Kailani had looked towards the pinkling now, “It’s about what REALLY happened.” she told the woman.

7/11/1947, Beach, Honolulu

The girl had been smiling with Phil, enjoying their time in the beach when the girl noticed that there was a familiar face that was approaching her, “Namor!” she had shouted with a smiling, going and started to run towards him now, wrapping her arms around the prince who had been a bit surprised before he looked towards The Kendal Family who were there.

“Mr. McKenzie, how are you here?” Mr. Kendal had asked and hearing that, Prince had smiled back towards him, “I’m here because of reasons, though I hope that I’ll be heading home soon.” he said towards them now and hearing that, the couple had given looks while Phil had looked towards the group now and as they had started to chat before Phil had smiled towards him.

“Hello, Mr. Sub–Mariner.” he said and hearing that, Namor had smiled towards him now, “Can you tell me about your time in the war?” he asked with Cass nodding, “Yeah! Can you tell us about being a hero against the Bad Nazi’s?” Cass had asked, hearing that, he looked towards the two couples that were there who had seemed fine by that now as he started to tell them.

“Alright then, how about we talk about Meranno?” he asked of them, thinking that it would be smart for them to know about those monsters that he had been a part of, “He was one of the worst criminals of Atlantis during WWII.” he continued to tell them now and hearing that, they were enraptured in listening, he had been unaware that there was a woman watching them now.

7/12/1947, Kailani Residence, Honolulu

The man had walked into the residence now and as he looked towards the kitchen now and seeing that, he started to smell that there was breakfast cooking, that surprised him, he didn’t know that there was Kailani who had been cooking, “Namor, get over here if you're hungry.” she said towards him and hearing that, Namor had been a bit confused, she had never offered breakfast before.

Taking the chance now, he went over and sat down, seeing the breakfast, “What caused this?” he asked of her, making the woman give a look, “Do you want to eat or do you want me to let your starve?” she asked, “Eating sounds good.” he said to her as he took a full plate from her and then started to eat now, as Kailani sat on the opposite end, she gave a look, “That child, she’s Bobo and Liz’s child?” she asked.

Namor nodded at that nod, “Yes she was, they look to be having fun and–” he started to see when there was a wince, “I’ll get your medicine.” he said, going to grab her a few of them, offering the bandages to her now, “Do you mind doing it?” she asked, hearing that, he nodded, confused but happy to help her with that, it seeming like a good step forward for them now at the very least.
