Miles was having a good day. Emphasis on the have.

Miles was in a good mood today. No, he felt like he was on cloud nine.

He might have an actual chance with Gwen!

There has always been some tension between them, but after what happened with the Spot incident… it kinda drifted away; formed into something both of them couldn’t identify. He’s forgiven her, sure. But that forgiveness took a while to garner. Matter fact, without Hobie, he might’ve not have forgiven her at all.

The punk was one of the first to visit him, besides Peter B. (And just know that interaction did NOT go well. The only reason the grown up didn’t leave his dimension with a black and and a few bruises was because his daughter was there and he didn’t want to traumatize her or anything. Poor girl is probably already desensitized to any and all violence by now anyways, she doesn’t deserve to see her father be made into a punching bag for all of Miles’s complicated feelings.) He hung out with him, gave him a watch, let him talk out his feelings, and even gave some advice to Miles. And soon after that, a certain boy named Pavitr wasn’t far behind.

It was nice. Even when it was just them back then.

But soon after that, a Margo came. Then some of the original group came and apologized, Peter Porker, Peni, and Noir.

He forgave Peni and Noir relatively quickly, since one was a little girl that has had to go through horrible things that sadly most spider people have gone through and the other didn’t even do anything and was off attempting to solve a rubix cube when the whole chase went down. Forgiving the pig just naturally came after that, and after some talking forgiving Peter was the same. Then… Gwen came.

She was the hardest to forgive. Don’t get him wrong, he could see her side. She’s just a kid like him, as much as he doesn’t like to admit it, so she’s bound to make mistakes. But the difference was, he thought they were close. He’s used to his father figures screwing up or them having fights, but they were different. He thought him and her were different. In his mind they were as alike as can be, and that just made the blow even harder. She knew how much it would hurt him, but she still did it anyways.

He’s positive he would’ve helped her, if he was in that situation.

The fact she didn’t just hurt him more than anything else, that’s all.

Well, that’s in the past now! He took some time, and they ended up working it out! And then after even more time, his old feelings started to rekindle. He didn’t draw her as much as he used to; he immediately snapped out of it once he found out people seeing them was a very real possibility and instead stuck just to thinking about her. A lot.

For example, he’s thinking about how they hung out yesterday right now. Or more like what happened.

It was nothing crazy… okay he lied! They talked and she leaned her head on his shoulder and she even invited him to the movies with her today and he’s 50% that’s a date cause she only asked him and not their whole group and-

Anyways, it felt like a big deal. So, he’s making sure to get ready and head over there early. He’s not wearing something crazy or anything, just his normal get up. She would surely notice if he did, and that’s just embarrassing.

He doesn’t skip over to her universe either, that’s embarrassing. But if he adds more swag and tricks to his normal swings, he’s the only one who would know.

When he finally reached her house, he peeked at her window. He wasn’t hiding from her, but seeing her dad is always awkward and he’d rather just not today. However, he was surprised with a sight he never thought he’d ever see.

Hobie, bending down to reach the Gwen sitting on her bed. More specifically, to her lips. And even more specifically, to his horror

They were kissing. Hobie and Gwen were kissing.

Oh.

Oh.
