Chapter 3
May’s POV
The more I discover about my soulmates the more I am convinced that the reason the universe decided to mark us together is because of how much it will put us through. Skye and I hold the berserker staff and it was one of the worst experience of my life playing in my head over and over again so intensely like it was happening in real life. What makes it so much worse is that I know Skye is experiencing the same thing. We now have the staff lock in a box and being sent to The Hub for whenever an Asgardian can come pick it up. I still can’t forget the look in Skye’s eyes fear, rage, and hopelessness. I feel it through our bond only slightly showing how much Skye is closing herself off. Leo walks up beside me.
“ I recommend to Coulson we take a break. I don’t know what you saw but I have an idea of what Skye saw. do you have anywhere we can all go to take a break?” I nod my head thinking of the one place that I know we can gather ourselves and be looked after. “I will tell Skye and you to tell Jemma to pack warm.” He still looks to worried about me to leave. I cup his cheek and kiss his forehead. “What I saw is something I see everyday and I will make it just fine.”
I walk towards Skye’s bunk and hear the crying. I sigh Skye’s rage is very connect to her rage while guilt is connected to mine. I slide into her bunk and see her curled up. “Oh Xiǎo niǎo, I wish I could have protected you from that staff and everything that it reminded of.” Skye twists to look at me she moves towards the wall allowing me to lay beside her. She curls into me. Skye loves cuddles and closeness I know that she was touch-starved for so love so for her I indulge the physical touch. “I cannot lose you. Or Leo. Or Jemma. Don’t leave me.” Her words are breaking my heart. “You will never be alone again. I promise.”
