Chapter 4
*the elevator takes them up to the 21st floor where the Avengers museum is. In there is a collection of every avenger’s first hero suit in a case of glass along with the replica’s of their weapons and blueprints of said weapons as well as the blueprints for the suits, each glass case has a metal plaque on it with information about each hero and fun facts*
Kathrine: now, y’all have 45 minutes to look at the different displays, have fun and please, don’t break anything.
*One of Mr Harrington’s students raises his hand*
Student 1: You said this place stores every one of the Avenger’s first suits, so does that mean that even Captain America’s first suit is in here?
Kathrine: mhm. Including Captain America.
*The whole class begins to become intrigued and several students raise their hands to ask questions*
Student 2: So does that mean you have Iron Man’s first suit as well?
Kathrine: yup. We have all of the avengers first suits and weapons. Including the winter soldier’s suit and my first suit. we also have the Winter Soldier’s old metal arm here as well.
*The whole class starts to get a little too excited at the thought of being so close to all these things and one of the students raises their hand*
Student 3: Is all of this stuff like...the originals or are they just replicas?
Kathrine: all of it is the originals except for Captain America’s shield as he still uses the same one he had in the 40s so we have a replica in the case instead. same with Thor’s hammer.
*The students immediately become awestruck and they’re all so eager to see all the different exhibits, but Mr Harrington steps forward and clears his throat loudly*
Mr Harrington: Listen all of you, I know you’re all excited but remember to not touch a single thing in this museum even to take a photo with the avengers because these things are super valuable assets to this company and we don’t want any accidents to happen.
Kathrine: hey! Shut your mouth Harrington! I’m the one in charge here! Not you! They can take photos if they want to
*Mr Harrington is absolutely furious at the way she just silenced him so he decides to take a step toward her to challenge her while speaking in a harsh tone*
Mr Harrington: Listen to me very carefully you little…
Kathrine: *grabs him by the throat* shut. Your. Mouth. If you think you can get away with talking to an avenger like that you are dead wrong. I’m in charge. You follow my rules. Got it? *she threatens him*
*Mr Harrington struggles to speak and all he can do in response is nod his head as he chokes on his own words. The class is completely stunned by this sudden aggressive outburst and none of them have ever seen this side of Kathrine but they all can tell that she means every word that she just said.*
*she throws him to the ground before smiling back at the students*
Kathrine: have fun kids! You have 45 minutes to see all of the displays!
*One student raises his hand and begins giggling*
Student 1: Was it necessary to throw him on the floor like that? It looked like it hurt!
Kathrine: yeah well he was being a transphobe earlier and he’s an asshole so he deserved it. Now run along! Or you’re gonna miss out on all the displays!
*As if the fact that she was an avenger and was defending a transgender person wasn’t enough of a shock to the class, now they also find out that she’s not afraid to use physical violence to get what she wants. They’re all terrified and have never witnessed anything like this. So after the student makes his remarks, they all quickly disperse and begin exploring the museum.*
*Kathrine looks down at Peter (she’s 6 foot and he’s 5’7 so she towers over him)*
Kathrine: you okay kid?
*Peter obviously wasn’t phased by any of this as he’s been around Kathrine a lot with his whole “secret identity as spider man” thing he has going on*
*As usual, Peter acts completely unfazed by the intense situation he just witnessed and responds to her in his typical lighthearted manner*
Peter: Totally, that was awesome! He deserved it!
*she ruffles his hair*
Kathrine: good… now run along little spider, *she says that part quietly as to not reveal Peter’s identity* Ned looks eager for you to look at some of the displays and he might have an aneurism if you don’t *she jokes about that last part. she has huge mom energy, not to mention how many times she’s protected Peter in the past while doing hero work.*
*Before Peter can say anything in response, he spots his friend Ned off in the distance so he nods his head to the teacher and runs off to follow Ned through the museum. As he’s walking, he starts to reflect on what just happened and realizes that no other school teacher could ever do something like that. When he thinks back to all the times that she has protected him in the past, he’s reminded of how much he owes her and he’s just so extremely lucky to have her looking out for him. Peter walks over to Ned and MJ who are at the glass case for Spider Man, his secret identity. It has his old suit which is ripped and has blood stains on it, as well as the old blueprints (which Peter drew himself) of the suit and mask designs. there’s a little golden plaque on the case with fun facts about Spider Man and things that he (Peter) has done. Peter immediately recognizes the case as being the one for his hero identity because he can see his signature sketches of the spider-man suit designs, and he remembers all of the hard work he put in to make them. Then he decides to read the plaque to see what kind of facts they have about him because he’s very curious to see what they have to say.*
*one of the fun facts on the plaque says that “Spider Man doesn’t like mint” which is surprisingly accurate as Peter has spider like traits due to the spider bite changing his genetic makeup and spiders in general hate mint. The only person who knows about this fact is Tony Stark, his adoptive father, meaning that Tony must have put this display together. as he continues reading the fun facts he finds that one of them says “Spider Man ironically is afraid of spiders”*
*Peter chuckles softly as he reads the fact about his spider-like traits, but then he finds himself chuckling even more once he gets to the next fun fact. The fact that Tony was the one who put this case together makes this display even more endearing, and he finds it even funnier that Tony would still somehow find a way for spiders to be relevant when it comes to him. Peter really couldn’t help but smile when he read “Spider-Man ironically is afraid of spiders” because that is so ironic that it’s almost unbelievable.*
*he continues reading and he looks at the whole plaque, seeing all of the fun facts. all of them end up being surprisingly accurate making it obvious that Tony is the one who wrote this.*
(What the plaque says:
Fun facts:
Spider-Man hates mint
Spider-man is ironically afraid of spiders.
Spider-Man can pick up the hulk and has thrown him across the battle field before
Spider-Man had to put a heater in his suit because he can’t regulate his body temperature
Spider-Man can lift 10 tons
Spider-Man has really cold feet. this has lead to many times of him sticking to the ceiling and touching the back of people’s neck with his feet.
Spider-Man is the only avenger to beat the Black Widow in a fist fight)
*Peter finds it hilarious that the case has all of these fun facts which are all things that he has done. It’s like this whole case was made just for him and him alone. He laughs loudly at the last sentence and reads that “Spider-Man is the only avenger to beat the Black Widow in a fist fight” and immediately begins recalling the scene in his head as he’s laughing. He even remembers that one time that he tried to touch the back of her neck with his cold feet and how she threatened to murder him for it lol.*
*Ned is staring at the first Spider-Man suit with wide eyes. Peter notices Ned’s excitement just by him glancing over at his friend. He then turns his attention back to the glass case just to see the same expression on his own face as well. The sight of his old suit is so nostalgic and it brings back all of the memories of him starting out as the friendly neighborhood spider-man. He smiles softly as he looks at the display and can’t help but feel a little proud because that was the suit that started it all. but that joy is cut short by Flash Thompson coming over*
Flash: why you staring at the spider man exhibit Penis Parker? Have a crush on him or something?
*Peter is taken aback by Flash’s sudden appearance, especially after he threw an insult at him so quickly without hesitation. He doesn’t let him see that it affects him though as he maintains his cool and responds*
Peter: I was just admiring the exhibit, and no, I do not have a crush on spider-man.
MJ: *remembering the rumor her and Peter were trying to start about Flash* It’s obvious he doesn’t have a crush on spider man Flash. but you do. *she says to Flash*
Flash: *he is obviously annoyed by her comment but tries to conceal this by using his trademark wit, albeit not a great one* I would never have a crush on that dweeb spider man. He’s a nerd and a loser who hides behind his mask because he’s too scared to show his face.
MJ: we’ve all seen your spider man fanboy page Flash. I heard from Betty Brant that you wear spider man underwear
*The whole class has now turned their attention to Flash as all of them have heard the rumors that MJ is trying to spread about Flash and they’re all starting to believe them. Even Flash knows that this is making him look bad, so he begins getting angry and a little desperate to keep the rumors from being spread even further*
Flash: Ok, maybe I like spider man a little bit, but I would never wear his underwear, that’s just disgusting.
MJ: well that ain’t what Betty Brant said.
Ned: *trying to divert the claims of Peter having a “crush” on spider man, aka himself* Peter! Come look at the Iron Man display! *he says this because it’s well known that Peter is a huge fan of Tony Stark. Peter immediately runs over to the Iron Man display happily*
*Peter instantly is distracted by the opportunity to fanboy as hard as he can about his idol and mentor. He walks up to the glass case and is absolutely mesmerized by the Iron Man armor that is on display and instantly his energy becomes that of an excited toddler.*

*once the 45 minute limit is up Kathrine and Miss Honey call out to the class and start reigning them back in. All of the students start running back together in one big group because they know that if they take a few minutes longer then they will get an earful from their teacher and none of them want that. As the whole group begins gathering back together, Mr Harrington sees that Peter is still admiring the Iron Man armor and quickly walks over to him. Kathrine grabs Mr Harrington by the back of the shirt and keeps him from yelling at Peter before she calmly goes over to Peter and bends down to get on his level*
Kathrine: Peter it’s time to move onto the next part of the tour *she says gently as she looks at Peter with her signature motherly look in her eyes*
*Peter immediately recognizes her motherly attitude toward him and he smiles softly*
Peter: Sure thing! *he is so used to Kathrine looking out for him that he doesn’t even question her decision to stop him from being yelled at by his teacher. He follows Kathrine and is in such a better mood since she’s there with him*
*Kathrine leads the class to the elevator followed by Miss Honey and Mr Harrington who step into the elevator as well. Everyone gets into the elevator and begins riding it to the next location on their school trip, and since he’s so close to Kathrine, Peter turns to her and tries to strike up a conversation so that he can get her to laugh*
Peter: So Mrs Laufeyson, you really saved my butt back there. I thought Mr Harrington was gonna have a heart attack.
Kathrine: well I’m not about to let someone yell at such a pure child like you now am I? Plus Tony would kill me if I let him yell at you. *she looks down at Peter and smiles slightly as she sees his adorable baby face that makes him look like a little puppy*
*Peter laughs and smiles even more when he hears that Kathrine calls him a pure child and says that she didn’t let him get yelled at because of Tony, who he knows will always look out for him. He feels so safe with her even though she isn’t his actual mother*
Peter: I guess you really are a lot like the mom that I’ve always needed. I could never repay my debt to you…
Kathrine: more like your aunt since Pepper is technically your adoptive mom but still. You’re an adorable kid and I’ll be damned if I let anything happen to you *she boops his nose. The other kids are too busy talking to each other while waiting for the elevator to bring them to the next destination that they don’t notice Kathrine and Peter*
*Peter can’t help but blush when she boops his nose, which then leads to him laughing uncontrollably. He’s never been treated in such a motherly way before and it’s making him feel so special. Even though he’s known her for awhile, he’s only now starting to realize how much she means to him and how lucky he is to have her. He’s so thankful for what she’s doing for him and he can’t wait to see what their next location on the tour will be*
