Wade Potter and his Impressionable Imagination
Cable had to humour Deadpool sometimes. Their lives were always on the line for one reason or another, so he’d learned to indulge Wade’s little quirks for the sake of amusement. It brought a little sunshine to those moments when all hope seemed lost and all battle seemed futile.
Now was not one of those times.
“Wade, I get a searing pain if I even attempt telekinesis. You’re going to have to break out and free me.”
The restraints were engineered to prevent Nate’s escape, but there was no reason they should be able to hold Wade. Except for the fact that he’d just read the latest Harry Potter book. Well, some of it. He’d got the gist of it, at any rate.
“Accio keys!” The mercenary growled, frowning at the keys hanging across the room.
“That won’t work,” Cable sighed. “Just break the restraints and fetch the keys yourself. Please.”
“You aren’t helping me channel my power, mudblood,” Deadpool snapped. “Accio keys!”
The keys stubbornly remained hanging on the wall. Cable sighed and extended his mental powers, pushing against the blinding pain in his head.
Wade hooted triumphantly as the keys flew over into his hand. “You see! I told you! Ma Wilson’s boy is no squib!” He had his and Nate’s restraints off in a matter of moments. Cable was still trying to get over the agony in his head from fighting the telekinetic preventative measures. “Come on Nate, get it together!” An alarm sounded and hoard of angry and expendable guards rushed in. Deadpool sighed. “Do I have to do everything around here?”
The guards stepped back nervously as Wade drew a dagger. Eyes narrowed, the merc with a mouth made a swishy motion.
“Avada kedavra!”
Nate groaned and lost consciousness.
