Billy was dead, and Amy was safe. There wasn’t much to do now, except to kill more evil gang members, criminals, and more.
He could get some down time and relax. Let his body heal and such. But the urge to get back into the action was always there.
Instead of looking for a fight, Frank decides to visit David and his family. Having a light dinner with them. After dinner, Frank tossed a football with Zach. Then he built some legos with Leo. Then sat and chatted with David and Sarah for awhile.
After that Frank left and stayed at a hotel, drinking the okish coffee the room provided, and chilling for a bit.
Afterwards he watched the news, seeing how Daredevil had finally put Wilson Fisk in Jail.
Frank was proud of red, he was sure Matt would’ve broken his own code and finally killed the man, but Matt had stuck to his word. Beating the crap out of the kingpin and sending him to jail, and not the penthouse kind either.
After his few days stay at the hotel doing absolutely nothing, Frank didn’t know what to do next. Obviously he would go back to killing despicable thugs, and sick minded gang members.
But Frank felt that there was something more he needed to do. Then he figured it out, it’s been a bit, and it was finally time to do this.
Frank needed to visit Karen.
He technically didn’t need to visit her, but it was something Frank wanted to do.
Karen the brave but stubborn journalist, who wasn’t afraid to risk her job to reveal the truth, to fight for what she thought was right.
Frank respected the woman greatly, and thought that she deserved a better friend than him. But through thick and thin, Karen had stayed by his side. She had helped him in whatever way she could no matter how bad the situation was.
There were many times Frank would’ve been dead without her. In Frank’s opinion, Karen was more of a hero than the some of the Avengers themselves.
Frank remembered the day he had met Karen, technically they didn’t even meet. He was shooting up a hospital, and she was running away from him.
How did that lead to their relationship now? Frank’s wasn’t sure how, but he was grateful.
He loved the woman dearly, and she was family to him next to Curtis and now Amy.
And Frank knew that she loved him too, which was evident in her actions, with the many times she risked her life for him.
Frank knew he had to visit her, no matter what.
Before he made his way towards her house, he bought some flowers. Not to give to her to put on her window seal in order to signal him, but to just have. He wanted to show Karen that he appreciated her, and that he genuinely cares about her.
So on that faithful day, he walked up to Karen’s doorstep and knocked on her door. When she opened the door, she couldn’t help but smile.
“Looked what the cat dragged in.” Karen said, before instantly giving Frank a hug.
When they parted Karen invited him in. Frank gave her the flowers, making sure she knew that they were completely genuine this time.
Karen was grateful, and was clearly happy to see him again, safe and unhurt.
They spent the rest of the day together, talking and catching up.
Frank did not regret visiting Karen.
