Day 14.
The capture of Mysterio was in no way something to be celebrated.
The date wasn't accurate either.
But MJ had the idea of mourning in style. Today everybody would dress in Quentin's favorite color, Green, and the day would be spent watching his favorite movies, playing his favorite games and so on. The remaining few had hope that their favorite fishbowl would be seen again. The rest, however, were ready to give up and accept that he was gone. Everybody participated.
Tony wore one of Quentin's sweater's, unfortunately he had been sealed in the iconic one that the man gifted him for his 13th birthday. Not everybody owned Green clothes, so they had to borrow some, which nobody minded sharing. Lucien wore Quentin's winter scarf, Jason a beanie, Andrew one of his many shirts, Cricket some pants, Jesse had socks and Chris a shirt. Lastly Harry.
Osborn had a leftover green tux from an old OsCorp Saint Patrick's Day Party, however, he was also granted the privilege of being the one to wear the Mysterio cape. But it wasn't for the Emo's sake, it was for Threat, who, next to Tony, was being affected heavily. The rest of the crew wore clothing or accessories. Bubble was able to alter her color to Green and the other two, Major and Sergeant, were able to change into a Target outfit that they had picked out on their first week. With everybody in the correct colors, it was time to get started.
The group of people drew a name out of a hat to pick the subjects. The Peter known as one was the first one to pick. Apart from living with Beck for years, Peter didn't quite know the man all that well... he made the safe choice of picking a horror movie, something simple like Child's Play. Thankfully, it was an accurate pick.
Quentin had made Tony sit and watch the whole franchise on one of the October months. Stark didn't like horror, in fact he hated it, but it made Quentin happy and that was something he failed to do all those years ago, so he'd sit through them willingly and though they weren't his style, some of them were enjoyable. Thankfully, Child's Play was one of the more tame scary movies, considering how old it is. Plus, the constant chaos from the other people made it hard to hear, so he was chilling.
Valerian whined about the quality of the production while constantly being shut down by Laureline, his partner. Jesse made jokes, some problematic, while Cricket would yelp and cower at the jump scares. They had to reassure him that it was fiction and that there was nothing to worry about. The remaining of the crew was silent. MJ and Bubble seemed to be the only ones enjoying the chaos.
Tony's name was drawn next and needless to say everybody was a little shocked by his decision. He had decided on The Muppet Movie, and it wasn't those 2000s ones... it was the original, 1979. Though some of them quietly judged his pick, they had to remember that Stark knew the man longer than all of them combined, so he clearly knew what he was doing... and he did.
It was a Tuesday.
June 22nd, 1979.
It was raining heavily when the two had left school, Tony introduced the boy to the movie theater. Stark wanted to see Nightwing, something spooky and scary (ironic) but Quentin wanted something more tame and happy, The Muppet Movie. It was one of the last movies the two saw where they were actually happy. There were no company problems, no credit issues with B.A.R.F. just two friends. That's why Tony chose it.
Another recurring memory was with the song "Movin' Right Along". For one of Quentin's birthdays, Tony had gotten him the soundtrack on a CD. On their way to a huge science fair, where they ended up winning third place, they duetted the song the whole drive. Back in their divorce era, Stark didn't think it was that big of a deal... but now that he was a better person, it was one of his favorite memories.
Tony was silent throughout the whole film. Not a single smirk or anything was shown upon his face. The only time he moved was to show Peter (who would tap him from time to time) that he was okay. Physically he was on the couch with everybody else, mentally he was fifteen with his favorite sixteen-year-old in the world. How he wishes he could go back and do things correctly.
With two movies down, they decided to take a lunch break and eat some of his favorite foods. Quentin loved anything red velvet along with the Lady Gaga Oreos. Just like anyone else, he enjoyed safe foods such as Cheeseburgers, fried foods and even fruit. The lunch consist of a cheeseburger, a side of fries and avocado and lastly three Oreos. A very unusual plate.
They also decided to play a quick card game before returning to watch another movie. Quentin loved simple games such as UNO or King's Corner. He also enjoyed board games like Aggregation and Monopoly, but one was only a limited amount of players and the other would take forever with how big their group was.
The movies continued. Frozen 2, Zootopia, Homeward Bound and so on. The good news was that people could laugh at the memories they remembered with the man. Like when he thought he was alone and gave a performance of Lost In The Woods. Or when he cosplayed was Beetlejuice from the musical for one of the following Halloweens. They also discussed his good times such as singing a lullaby and playing his guitar or the helpful advice he gave.
Everybody was still depressed.
But.
Today did help everybody heal just a bit.
Oh, Quentin Beck.
How they missed you.
