Where the heck do you find a lindworm?
It was more or less a normal morning, light filtering through the blue curtains, illuminating the bedroom. Birds chirping outside the windows. The bifrost glittering in the distance. Loki began to open his eys, seeing his husband’s grey hair sprawled out on the pillow infront of him. Loki smiled, looked to the side and jumped. “Tontu!?” Loki shouted, waking up Mobius in the process. “Yes sire?” Tontu jumped to his little feet, standing on the mattress “Why are you on our bed?” Loki gestured to where tontu was standing. Tontu moved his furball head, the only visable faceial feature was his large round nose peeking out from the fur. His small body was clothed in a singular hoodie with embrodiered bindrunes on the sleeves. His tail poking out from underneath. “I carry news, your majesty.” Tontu lifted his nose into the air. “Ok, 2 things Tontu. One, you know you dont need to call me your majesty, im not a king. Two, what news do you have for us?” Loki let himself lean back onto the headrest with mobius still half asleep, leaning on his chest.
“The elves have requested your attendance at a meeting discussing the elf king.” Tontu nodded and jumped off the bed. “What does Ka’nat want?” Mobius began to get off the bed. Loki following behind him. “I do not know.” Tontu said before rushing out of the room. Mobius began to get ready, Loki searched for his make shift “crown” he made to look presentable for the elves. It was around a few years since the elves arrived. They are a colony seeking peace in midgard,a sanctuary, away from Asgard’s ways. More accuratly, Odin’s ways. They also came to help Loki and his family care for the amount of creatures also seeking sanctuary. There were Nisse, Vittra, filgya, trolls, goblins, zora, and so many more. They all seemed to naturally bow down to the mischief god even though he really didn’t do anything. He found it all very confusing, but his fingers finally wrapped around the woven golden horns that had ended up under the bed frame.
“What do you think Ka’nat wants? The colony seems to be happy, and we’ve met Ka’nat before, and he was so happy that his people get to be free from Asgard’s rule?” Mobius found himself in a nice, cream colored button up and brown dress pants. Loki fashioned himself a sleek black top with green fabric draping over his shoulders. The cape seemed to flow into the long skirt that was worn around his waist. “I do not know, love. But also knowing ka’nat, a meeting with him could be just him asking us what we’d be having for breakfast, or the world is ending.” Loki placed his Horns on his head, the golden wire much more graceful than his thick black horns he gained from his previous stunt. “That’s a fact, do you think the boys wanna go?” Mobius looked at themselves in the mirror, ne looked so normal next to loki’s sleek look. “Im sure sean would love too, kevin might want to stay in bed. But it might be good for both of them, have them experience a meeting like this. For the future.” Loki waved a hand and Mobius watched as his outfit shifted into a dark yellow shirt with embroidered sleeves with a beautiful, deep orange shaul wrapped over his shoulders. His pants staying more or less the same but the material was more soft and regal. “Alright, I’ll go wake em up. I’ll meet you there?” Mobius asked, Loki looked at him with a smile on his face. “I will see you there, and tell the boys i love them.” Loki left a small kiss on Mobius temple. “Alright, I will. Love you.” Mobius watched Loki begin to walk down the hall. “I love you too, darling!” He called out as he walked out the door.
Loki looked around outside of his home, the tall mountains surrounding them, the forests creeping up the cliffs. Houses of the goblins woven into the branches of the trees, connected by bridges and ropes. Loki remembers helping the dwarves build the caves and mines into the large mountain to the west. Remembering the towns and markets that are within the stone walls of the mountain, how bright they can be, how lively they can be surrounded by rocks and stone. But that is their life, their way of living, and loki was grateful to have experienced such joy. Loki sent a sharp whistle into the air. Skinfaxi and Hrimfaxi bounded out of the trees, Skinfaxi’s glowing mane looked like a blaze compared to Hrimfaxi’s dark mane, pitch black hair flowing into wind. They come to a stop infront of him, Loki mounts Skinfaxi. “To the elves, the capital.” Skinfaxi reered into the air, turning on his back hooves then bolting off onto the path that weave all the towns and villages together. Hrimfaxi following close behind.
They pass by a clear spot in the woods, nothing but a few flowers ad mushrooms in the field. He’s slightly confused onto why no one else has claimed it. It looked like the forbidden fruit, just beckoning for you to take a bite. It was soon out of sight, but just in the distance he saw the entrance to the caves housing the dwarves. A smile grew on his face. To the east, the Troll village was visible in the distance. The large stone like creatures were relativly new, but he remembered how the troll’s skin turns to stone at sunlight. For a moment he wanted to check on them, race over and see if they needed any help with anyone. The stone isn’t permanent, as soon as they were in the shade their skin returns to the normal tough exterior that is is regularly. But he decided to be early to the meeting than being even later than his family. So Loki clicked his tongue and Skinfaxi flared his nostrils and ran even faster. The sun flickered through the leaves of the trees. Lime green light came filtered through the leaves, drowning Loki in it’s light.
Birds flew above him in their dance of the sky. The sound of the horse’s hooves hitting the dirt drowned out their songs.
Soon there was a break in the trees and light took over Loki’s sight for a moment, before clearing the view of the beautiful elven structures. The swooping blue rooves, rivaling the waterfalls with their colors and drapes. The long marble columns creeping up the side of the north mountain, contrasting the dark cliffs. They had large swooping trees with a large array of bright and vibrant colors. Makes you imagine how beautiful their homeland is, Alfheim. The dirt path became stane and gravel. The pounding of hooves became clops as some elves waved at Loki from the balconys of the towers and building. Loki waved back, a smile on his face. The elves were hospitable and kind by nature. When they first arrived all those years ago they came bearing so many gifts, foods, and trinkets Loki and Mobius started a secret ebay account, selling some of it for cosplayers and collectors because they ran out of storage space. The Elves were always one of loki’s favorites, always staying out of wars and problems unless directly attacked. Which is why Loki was cautious about this morning’s Meeting. It didn’t take long for the capital building to come into view. The long towers with the long, pointy rooves with little flags ontop. Two large trees wrapped around the two main towers, large, vibrant blue leaves floating in the breeze. A small creek flowing around the structure, flowing toward the entrance stairs.
Skinfaxi came to a hault, Hrimfaxi did so as well. Loki dismounted, swinging his leg over the side of the horse and landed on the cobblestone. “Thank you, Skinfaxi. May you ride with the sun.” Loki ruffled his mane of fire before turning to the pitch black horse standing next to him. “And thank you Hrimfaxi for accompaning us.” The horses bowed their heads before running of to gods knows where. Loki started to walk up the stairs leading to the first tower. Elven architechure was always so smooth and silky. It’s like the building were made of cloth drapped over the building and then frozen in time. The interior was no different, chandeliers lit the hallways and the stained, blue, glass made a calm aura. Ever since Loki made it out of the god foresaken tree, he promised himself that he was going to appreciate everything of beauty that he comes across. And this was one of those things. He’s been in this building hundreds of times and yet he still marvels in it’s beauty. He climbs the next flight of stairs, reaching the first bridge. The breeze lifts his hair off his shouldersas he crosses the arch between the towers. He sees two guards at the end of the bridge. As soon as they see him smiles dance apon their faces. “Hey Loki, cant wait for you to hear what we have in store for you!” One of the guards said, her long blond hair presented in a long, thick braid. “Oh, It is good news, I wasn’t sure.” Loki said as he reached them. “Oh yes! I think it is very good news anyways.” The other guard said, his hair in a large messy bun, helmet resting on his hip. “Well, I can’t wait to hear it.” Loki waved goodbye and entered the second tower.
The first story that leads you to the next flight of stairs is almost all pillars. All in a circle around you, the breeze flowing through them, carrying the floating leaves throughout. Loki begins to climb the stairs to the long bridge. He considered opening a portal to atleast the other side of the long bridge, but he decided to take in the view of the buildings from the large windows of the bridge. It really was magnificent. All of the elves bustling in the streets looked like dots, running around carrying baskets, food, and children leading kites. It almost looked like the elves were preparing for a party, a festival even. Loki had passed through the mid-way tower and just entered the final tower, the tower that held the council room. After one last flight of stairs. Loki let out a quick breath before climbing the stairs. The two guards at the door differed from the previous, but were still joyus to see him. Letting him through the tall, oak doors. The council room was huge, the backwall was alomst all stained glass. Beautiful blues, purples and pinks filled the room. “Loki! Long time no see! Where is your family?” Ka’nat Stood from his chair, His long dark hair was braided into small strands that was laid upon his chest. His dark skin contrasted with his bright white tunic, embroidered with gold thread making little leaves and swirls through the desighn. His crown was made of flowers and butterfly wings, Antlers seemed to sprout from his dark braids. “Oh they will be here soon, but what brings you to Midgard? All the way from Alfheim? Im honestly curious what could bring you out of the closest thing the realms have to Valhalla.” Loki found his seat ot the table, next to the Queens of the Fairys, Aha’ri and Etuwa, and the kind of the County elves, Alfur.
“Oh please Loki, ever since we joined Asgard’s patrol Alfheim has not been as peaceful as we’d hoped.” Aha’ri spoke, her voice smooth as honey coming from her pale lips. “That’s what we’d like to discuss.” Etuwa’s voice sounded much more excited. “I am aware of the events in Alfheim, but my father is dead now, is he not?” Loki looked to Ka’nat, who had sat back down. “Correct, but some of the troops in our realm seems to have not recieved the memo.” Ka’nat said, with a harsh tone in his voice. “You have the authority to kick them out of your realm. It’s not theirs, it’s yours. All of yours.” Loki gestured to the figures in the room. “Yes, The realm does belong to us, but accourding to the document we signed, the troops can have their land within the realm. They do keep to that land I will hive them that, but we have lost the right to bann them from the land they live on.” Alfur stood from the small chair placed on the table. County elves were only mere inches tall, clinging to paperwork as their lifestyle. “Is there anyway to break the contract?” Loki suggested, placing his forearms on the table, leaning forward slightly. “Well, there are two ways we could. Destruction of the contract using a lindworms fire, or all parties signing off the contract. But, since one of the parties is now no longer with us, we are left with only one option.” Alfur Eplained, waving his arms around when he talked. “Are you sure it has to be Odin, or can it be the king of Asgard?” Loki asked, already ready to get up and yell at the clouds outside for his brother to show up and end this. “Sadly, we would need Odin’s signature. So we are only left to the Lindworm. And last time i checked the roster, we do not have a Lindworm in side of the valley.” Alfur magically summoned a long scroll and adjusted his small monocole and let his finger trace down the parchment before turning back the council. “As I said, no Lindworm.” The scroll popped out of sight with a little yellow glow. “Where would we find a willing lindworm?” Aha’ri asked leaning forward, he long pink hair falling onto the table.
“Oh dem Lindworms are tricky but the usually like gardens and things like dat.” Loki’s head turned toward the door, a smile replaced his disgruntled frown. “Mobius, darling come join us. Where are the boys?” Loki summoned a chair between himself and Alfur’s small table chair. Mobius sat down in the chair, nodding in greeting at the other participants. “Oh Sean’ll be here any minute, kevin is still asleep at home. Tontu is watchin’ em.” Mobius smiled, his mustache curling upwards. “So what’s this ‘bout Lindworms?” Mobius leaned forward, placing his elbows on the table. Meaning business. “We are meaning to break a contract with the troops of Asgard. Sadly, due to Odin’s passing we cannot sign off the contract so it must be destroyed by a Lindworm flame.” Alfur explained his little voice carrying far. “Oh, good golly that's a lot.” Mobius removed his elbows from the table and slumped back into his chair. “You mentioned they liked gardens? What Kind?” Etuwa asked. Still trying to keep her composure, trying to remain calm when everyone knows she is quite passionate about the matter. “I don’t know much. I know they like gardens and caves. Sean knows more than I do.”
And almost like he was summoned, Sean entered the room. The young boy had his freshly dyed hair tied back in a bun. He had high boots, not high heeled but still striking. He had a deep green top and buttoned all the way to his neck, and a black leather jacker covering his shoulder, looking suspiciously close to a jacket worn back in 2012. “Sean Lokison, Please take a seat.” Ka’nat gestured to an empty seat just next to Alfur, but not quite next to Ka’nat. “We know you know knowledge on the Lindworms. Where could we find one?” Ka’nat asked gesturing to the kid. Sean stole a glance at his two father, one of them giving him a proud nod and the other supportive finger guns. “Yes I do. Lindworms really like Islands and Caves. Most keep gardens and are very protective and proud of them. If we want their help then we should bring a plant as a gift. And hope they dont already have that plant.” Sean looked back at his parents, both looking very proud. “Thank you, Sean. That is very helpful. Good to know some people’s kids are willing to come to these meetings.” Aha’ri took a deep breath as Etuwa patted her back. “You know our daughter will come around, but until then we have to let her explore if we are to live here.” Etuwa leaned towards her wife comfortingly. “I know, but besides this is great news, we simply have to find an island with caves, and a large garden on said Island.” Aha’ri pointed to Ka’nat “And I know your daughter knows her plants. Im sure Frida is out looking for rare flowers as we speak.” Ka’nat laughed heartedly. “She is, in fact she mentioned getting a flower just for Hilda.” The council laughed.
“Im sure she will be happy to help.” Ka’nat said after calming down. “Well, Let us find this Lindworm first, then let’s end this.” Etuwa said in an encouraging tone. “Alright, Let the Loki family handle finding the Lindworm, Me and Alfur will handle any other paperwork, and Tsahiks will find the gift. Mobius what was that phrase you said, getting her done?” Mobius laughed at ka’nat attempt, “Lets get ‘er done!” He yelled, accent thick with the words. And the council was dismissed.

“So sean, where do you think we can find this Lindworm? Anywhere close?” Loki asked as he cut through the tomato with a knife. “Uhm, I know there’s an island way out on the lake. I think it has a cave. I do know it is overgrown with plants, to a lindworm that could be a garden.” Sean said as he diced the dried cranberries. The two were making a salad, a traditional Asgardian treat. The were much more dressed down than they were that same morning. Loki wearing a green sweatshirt with black jeans and Sean wearing a band t-shirt and ripped, baggy jeans. “Thats hopeful. Also you know how we could get there?” Loki leaned forward over the island in the middle of their kitchen. “What??” Sean leaned forward, matching Loki’s energy. “Jetskis!” Sean gasped excitedly.
“What about jetskis!!?” Mobius shouted from the living room. “Nothing sweety!” Loki called back as Sean snickered. “There is definitely something if there is a Jetski involved!” Mobius yelled back through the threshold. “Don’t worry about it!” Loki yelled before returning to the tomato. “Im sure dad would love that.” Sean said before grabbing a head of lettuce and cutting off the stem. “It does sound like your father’s kind of trip.” Loki agreed, sweeping the cut tomatoes into the bowl. They countinued to make the salad in pleasant silence. Tontu coming in and out of nowhere space, helping find lost utensils and seasonings. There was golden light coming from the windows, making the scene comfortable and casual. The dust in the air looked the glitter and the kitchen smelled like vanilla. Loki kept wanting to freeze the moment and take it all in, but at the same time he wanted to live it. And before Loki could think how could this be anymore beautiful, Mobius walkes through the door way.
“We’re almost ready, dad.” Sean said as he went to the fridge to grab dressing. “Good to hear.” Loki heard Mobius say as he washed his hands. Sean grabbed the bowl and walked to the dining table right across from the counter. “Have I told you how happy I am that you’re back?” Mobius asked Loki, wrapping his arms around him as Loki tried to dry his hands. “Yes, you’ve told me a million times.” Loki said leaning back into Mobius’ embrace. “Well, have I told you today in particular?” Mobius said, resting his head on Loki’s as they turned to watch Sean help kevin get a serving of the salad and a grilled cheese sandwich Mobius made a little earlier. “No, you haven’t yet.” Loki said, somehow leaning even more into Mobius. “Well, I am so happy you’re here. So, so so happy.” Loki chuckled lightly, the smile growing on his face. “Im happy to be here with you too.” Loki spoke barely over a whisper, he knew Mobius was probably smiling too. “Well, Let’s eat. The grilled cheeses are probably already cold.” Mobius said before leaving a quick peck on Loki’s cheek, then joining the kids at the table. Loki following close behind.
“Thanks for lunch!” Kevin said before devouring his sandwich. They all chuckled at the youngest. “Thank you for helping me Sean.” Loki said before placing his portion on his plate. “Of course.” Mobius grabbed himself and loki a sandwich and loki got him some salad. “So, about that lindworm.” Loki said before taking his first bite. “Oh yeah, so we were planning on going to that over grown island out on the lake and checking there.” immediately Mobius’ head perked up, like a light bulb lit up above his head. “Oh, we could ride jet skis there!” Mobius sounded excited, so excited. He always was when it came to the watercraft. He’s ridden his own so many times, and yet it still brings him all the joy in the world. “That’s what I was thinking, Kevin im sure you’d like to go on a ride?” Loki offered, gestering to the 14 year old. His blond head perked up, “Oh yeah! I love riding Jet skis, they go so fast and the way they cut through waves is so cool!” It was obvious that Kevin was Mobius’ son, meanwhile Sean was a bit more laid back after spending so much time with his step-father. “Well, we will go check it out once we have the gift to bring, and the contract to burn.” Mobius said after finishing his plate.
Just as they wer eabout to begin cleaning up the table, a shadow from something outside cloaked over them. They all looked to find A large dragon-like creature, with 4 large wings that looked like triangles. It looked to have more skin than scales and its tail was long and thin. The animal was a bright blue green with black details that overlaped and swirled liek a design. The creature landed in the backyard, revealing the rider. It was a dark skinned elf with her long braided hair going down her back. Her crown seemed to have antlers sprouting from her head, like her fathers. “Frida!” Sean said before rushing out doors to greet her. “Do you think she has the gifts?” Mobius whispered, “I hope so,” Loki stood up, following Sean outside. The two teenagers had started talking, Frida still sitting upon what Loki can now tell is an Ikran, (yes im stealing it from Avatar fight me.It looks pretty.) clutching not only a very pretty pink flower, but a bunch of other herbs and grasses. “Oh, hello Loki. My father told me to give these to you.” Fridge handed him everything but the flower. “Thank you, these are for the li-” “The lindworm, yes. It’s mainly mistletoe and crab grass. But there’s a few other things too. I’d give you the flower too, but I really wan to give it to someone else.” Frida said, holding the flower to her chest. “Yeah to your crush Hilda!” Sean poked her leg, laughing at her flushed face.” Sean i swear to Frejya if you dont quit it im gonna-im gonna. Well i dont know what im gonna do but im gonna do something.” She pointed at him accusingly. “But anyways, i wish you good luck on finding the Lindworm. Also, I have the document.” She reached into a pocket and pulled out a scroll with an aged Asgard seal on it. “Alright Thank you, have a nice flight. And Good luck with Hilda.” Loki smirked as Frida hid her face with her hands. “Oh not you too.” she groaned before grabbing onto the handle of the saddle. “Well, Good bye and Good luck!” Frida shouted before yelling sounds into the air, telling the Ikran to take of into the sky. “Well, ready to go?” Loki said holding up the objects in his hands. “Let's go free Alfheim from some moody Asgardian troops!” Sean punched his fist into the air and they walked back to the house. “Haha, Yeah!” Loki jested the scroll into the air. “Jet ski time!?” They heard Kevin yell from the back porch. “It’s Jet ski time!” Loki yelled back, a smile on his face.
