You let out a soft breath as you looked at the newly traveled area that you had gone to. You honestly missed the warmth of your bed and being close to your boyfriend. But you couldn’t bring him along with you on your trips due to him having a job at the museum. But you missed him dearly every time you went out on your trips for work.
The saying was true for you and Steven. Apartness makes the heart grow fonder and it seemed to fit the two of you perfectly. You always came back together like nothing had happened and spent most of the time making up for lost time.
You slowly walked down the street taking a soft breath as you pulled your phone to look at a photo of the two of you together curled up on the couch cuddling close to one another like you didn’t have a fear in the world. Your heart clenched in your chest as you looked at the photo. Suddenly your phone went off and your heart fluttered seeing that it was from Steven.
I’ll be waiting for your return, love. I miss you and good luck with work.
A small smile came to your lips as you stopped outside a shop in the town that you were in. Your eyes wandered to the cards that they had. You went inside slowly and went to the postcards. You knew that you needed to send one to him for his collection. Ever since you started this job you had sent many a card to him and he loved every single one of them that you sent to him.
You began to look through the cards wondering which one he’d enjoy the most. You nibbled your bottom lip as you looked. Your heart clenched in your chest knowing that you’d be only here for a few weeks meaning that you were better off giving him the card in person than sending it through the post. Your hand came to a card and stopped causing your heart to leap in your chest. You found the perfect card for Steven.
You knew he would love it and add it to his growing collection from all of the other places that you had gone to in the past. You picked up the card and slowly went to the checkout line to purchase the card.
You knew soon that you would have about a week after returning home of unbridled time with Steven that you would probably hardly leave his side unless he had to work. You could only hope that he would enjoy this card as much as you would. You couldn’t wait to show him it.
