In Chaos

2015| 𝙷𝚈𝙳𝚁𝙰 𝙱𝚞𝚗𝚔𝚎𝚛, 𝚂𝚘𝚔𝚘𝚟𝚒𝚊

Tony was flying up to the HYDRA base in his suit when all of a sudden, he hit a forcefield. "Shit!"

"Language!" The voice of Steve Rogers rang through the coms. "JARVIS, what's the view from upstairs?"

"The central building is protected by some kind of energy shield," JARVIS responded. "Strucker's technology is well beyond any other HYDRA base we've taken."

"Loki's scepter must be here. Strucker couldn't mount this defense without it," Thor announced while he was fighting off some HYDRA agents. "At long last."

Natasha knocked out some soldiers, ""At long last" is lasting a little too long, boys."

"Yeah. I think we lost the element of surprise, " Clint said using the tree as a shield from the soldiers were shooting at him.

Soldiers were falling as Tony shot them down with his suit. "Wait a second. No one else is going to deal with the fact that my fiancé just said, "Language?""

To Tony it felt so surreal being able to call Steve his fiancé. He had to admit they both started off on the wrong foot, but after the Battle of New York the avengers moved into the newly re-constructed tower, and they became the family Tony always wished to have. Sometime after him and Steve had started hanging out until they both confessed and eventually decided to take a step further into their relationship. Tony would do anything to be able to keep the dysfunctional family they had created. 

"I know," Steve responded while he threw his bike at some soldiers driving up in their truck. "It just slipped out love."

"Ugh, get a room you two" Clint yelled at them making the team laugh. Despite teasing their two team members, he was happy for them, they all were. 

Tony managed to break into the HYDRA base "You bunch are just jealous."

"Sir, the city is taking fire."

"Well, we know Strucker's not going to worry about civilian casualties. Send the Iron Legion."

The Iron Legion flew in towards the civilians, " The quadrant is unsafe. Please back away. We are here to help. This quadrant is unsafe. Please back away. Please back away. We wish to avoid collateral damage and will inform you when this current conflict is resolved."

Civilians were chanting all over the place for the avengers to go home when a man threw a bottle of something corrosive at the bot's head. "We are here to help."

"Clint has been hit!" Natasha said as she went over to where Clint was lying down. "Somebody want to deal with that bunker?"

Hulk came in and barreled through the bunker and destroyed it. "Thank you"

"Honey, we really need to get inside" Steve said as he was fighting off the soldiers.

"I'm closing in darling" Tony responded. "JARVIS, am I...closing in? Do you see a power source for that shield?"

"There's a particle wave below the north tower."

"Great, I wanna poke it with something." Tony blew up the forcefield of the base, "Drawbridge is down, people.

"Clint's hit pretty bad, guys," Natasha told them. "We're going to need evac."

"I can get Clint to the jet," Thor told Steve. "The sooner we're gone the better. You and Tony secure the scepter."

"Copy that"

"It looks like they're lining up." Thor said referring to the approaching soldiers in the HYDRA tank.

"Well they're excited"

Thor pounds on Steve's shield with his hammer creating a wave force that knocked down all the soldiers.

"Find the scepter," Thor told them as he flew off.

"And for gosh sake, watch your language!" Tony said, teasing Steve for what he said earlier.

Steve sighs, "That's not going away anytime soon."

Tony entered the HYDRA base and soldiers started firing at the Iron Man suit.

"Guys, stop, we got to talk this through." Tony shoots down the soldiers using the rockets form his suit, "It was a good talk."

"No, it wasn't," One of the soldiers said in pain.

Tony then proceeds to find List and knocks him out using his gauntlet. He then steps out of the Iron Man suit.

"Sentry mode," he told the suit to then walk over to the computers. "Okay, JARVIS. You know I want it all. Make sure you copy Hill at HQ."

"I know you're hiding more than files," Tony told himself. "Hey, J, give me an IR scan of the room, real quick."

"The wall to your left...I'm reading steel reinforcement...and an air current."

"Please be a secret door, please be a secret door," Tony said to himself as he walked over to the wall and pushed it.

"Yay!" He said as the wall opened up and he entered through the secret passage.

Back at the HYDRA base, Steve found Strucker, "Baron Strucker. Hydra's number one thug.

"Technically, I'm a thug for SHIELD," Strucker replied.

" Well then technically you're unemployed," Steve said. "Where's Loki's scepter?"

"Don't worry, I know when I'm beat. You'll mention how I cooperated; I hope.

" I'll put it right under illegal human experimentation," Steve said as a soldier creeped up behind him. " How many are there?"

The soldier is ready to make his move when Steve uses his shield to knock him out, then he turned to look at Strucker.

"You'll have to be faster than --" Strucker's sentence was cut off when Steve used his shield to knock him out.

"Guys, I got Strucker." Steve's voice rang through the coms.

"Yeah, I got... something bigger" Tony said as he ventured into the secret passage that led to a room with a variety of technology, as well as recovered artifacts form the Battle of New York, including a gigantic Chitauri leviathan and some of his scrapped armor.

"Thor, I got eyes on the price" he says as he spots the scepter.

As Tony slowly approaches the scepter, the scepter itself starts to shake causing Tony to freeze.

The blue gem in the scepter rattled, agitated, and then it shot out from the scepter - on its own, like a bullet - straight to Tony. At that moment Tony didn't know what to do. Sure, he had encounters with the mind stone during the Battle of New York, but it had never acted like it was acting now, and that terrified him.

The only thing he could do now is stare at that stone that had stopped a few feet away from him. It looked absolutely beautiful and enchanting up close, and Tony slowly reached up to it. It felt as if someone had gone into his mind and made all his fears go away. He couldn't stop the feeling that the stone was calling out to him.

Just as he was about to touch it, the stones blue encasement opens to reveal the true yellow stone of the mind stone. Tony stared at it, it was even more beautiful now.

All of the sudden an explosion happened, a magical explosion that the stone created. It was so powerful and bright and yet somehow Tony remained standing looking at the center of the stone where a lone silhouette stands, with a crown on his head.

And then as if the stone had never left the scepter the room returned to normal, and Tony's world blacked out.
