Chapter 1

I blinked a couple of times to allow my eyes to adjust to the dark room. I didn't exactly like leaving the lights on, and when I did turn the lights on, a headache would rise up, so I never turned on any lights. That left my room in the dark mostly. The only lights were that of the sun bleeding through my blackout curtains.

I huffed as I threw my laptop on my bed and threw my bag on my floor. A pile of clothes around the corner of my room and a sofa precariously placed in the middle facing a TV. I dropped my body onto the sofa, my back clicking at the contact of semi hard/soft leather. I sighed as my fingertips ran along the raised stitching.

"I'm so... exhausted." I groaned, my chest heavy and my shoulder muscles tight from stress. "I hate collage... but I hate working more." I mumbled to myself.

I shifted my body to the edge of the sofa, my body dangerously close to falling off, as I grabbed the remote to turn on the TV. I then lied there for a while, deciding what I should watch or if I should just sleep. I had another test tomorrow, maybe something that would make me sleepy?

"Hm..." I huffed, "Marvel? Didn't they make a new movie... or was it a series?"

I sighed as I slowly pushed the button to play 'Endgame'. It's wasn't relatively new when I watched it first,  but I decided I wanted something I knew rather than the movies/series they make now. I crumpled my body up into a ball as I blankly stared at the screen.

I let out a small tear when I watched loki die again, though I've seen it so many times now I felt numb to it. I started to close my eyes to the sounds of the movie. I was lulled to a deep sleep, one I haven't been in for a while. It felt nice.

I blinked myself awake, scrunching my nose at the sun that broke through my eyelids. I was staring up at the blue sky. Blue sky? I felt the gathering of small stones at my back, a hard cement where the soft leather of my sofa was. I flipped myself over to my side and tried to get up. That was before I noticed furry paws.

'Oh no.' I thought, 'no, no.'

I moved to my stomach. The stones scratching my fur and getting stuck deep inside.

'Not happening.' I narrowed my eyes as my ears folded downwards. 'Just a weird dream...'

I stood up and shook myself off. I then moved to a puddle, my tail swaying slightly as I walked. I then stared at the reflection. It wasn't the best, and the water was muddy and gross, but it was the best I could do in my situation. I then sat down. I was a black cat. A dirty and grim-looking cat but a cat none the less.

'Okay.' I thought to myself, 'Let's look at my surroundings.'

I then walked cautiously out of the alleyway I was in. That was when I saw it. The stark tower. It was incredibly huge, so tall. I stared at it in awe, definitely bigger in person than it is on screen. I flicked my tail and stayed to the wall to avoid people standing on me.

'I wonder which movie it is that I'm starting on.' I thought to myself.

I then made my way to the reception doors, avoiding getting crushed by cars and people on the way.

'Is those seriously how pets see the world and us?' I questioned, 'If so... this is scary.'

There were so many, too many, overwhelming smells I wouldn't have smelled before. The perks of being an animal, I guess. I settled on a spot near the tower.

'I wonder if all the fanon stuff about Tony liking cats is true?' I thought, 'If it's not... I'm so screwed.'

I laid on the concrete path near the doors, bathing in the sun as it was still there. I wished I could clean my body of the dirt that accumulated in its fur. And I refused to use my tongue to lick myself!

...

A few hours later, the sun had set, and so did the bitter cold. I always hated how weirdly drastic the weather could change on a dime. Though I love winter and how cold it gets, this isn't winter. I huffed as I looked at myself through the glass. It gave me a better picture of myself.

My fur was black, but it had an unnatural red under tone, I think if I got rid of the mud, my stomach and paws would be a maroon colour. My eyes were also a shade of red, more vibrant, I'd say scarlet red. I whipped my tail on the floor as I contemplated how I was supposed to do this. I'm a cat that has to save my favourite characters from a movie from their eventual demise. How am I supposed to do that? Scratch thanos to death?

I growled lowly at myself as I became increasingly frustrated with my situation. My tail lashed around, and my ears were in an 'aeroplane' position. I was so deep in thought I didn't hear footsteps behind me stopping. I did, however, look up to see a man with brown hair and eyes looking past into the tower. It's one of my favourite characters, Tony Stark.

He huffed as he moved to open the door.

I wasn't going to waste this opportunity. Better make this the best performance possible. I shifted my body to rub against his legs, making him look down. Tony raised an eyebrow and bent down. I rubbed myself on his hand, and... purred.

'I hate this.' I thought.

Tony chuckled at me. I grumbled internally as he picked me up, holding me away from him to not ruin his suit. I was still very aware of how dirty I was. He then handed me off to happy, or more like chucked on his lap.

"Happy, take this cat to my apartment floor. I have a meeting in..." he looked at his watch, "five minutes ago." He said as he tapped happy's shoulder.

Happy was still shocked at me being on his lap he didn't respond, but when he did, it was too late. I jumped off him as I hated all the touching. Happy then tried and failed to herd me into the elevator. But I complied just this once and stood in the moving elevator with Happy.

This situation was just so bizarre. Though I could see Happy restrained himself from petting me.

'Who would have thought Happy to be a cat person?' I thought as I waited patiently.

The doors then opened, and I left, leaving small paw prints on the carpet. Happy then left to go do whatever he wanted to. I didn't pay much attention to what he said as he left and went down in the elevator.

I turned my attention to the sink. I jumped up on the marble counter, looking at the taps. How was I supposed to turn it on? I thought, as I did, I stared at the sink as if it was going to turn on. I then decided that it shouldn't be that hard. So I pushed my paw into the flat part of the tap to turn it on. The water was cold as it poured into the basin. I jumped into washing the dirt from my fur, and I hated the feeling of being dirty.

I had tried my best at washing the dirt, mud, and tiny rock from my fur that had accumulated from being outside. I then went to try and turn off the water as I was washed to the best of my ability. It was, somehow, harder to turn it off, but I did it. Now was the question of how do I dry my fur? Sun? No, that went down a while ago. Just air dry? Maybe.

So I sat near the sink to let my fur air dry. I was shivering from the cold water, but the heating was, thankfully, on.

...

I fell asleep whilst waiting for my fur to dry. I heard Tony walk in and was made to wake up by my body. Oh, how I hated the light sleeping tendencies of being a cat. I then pretended to sleep as my eyes flicked to where Tony was talking.

I heard him sigh but narrow his eyes at the little paw marks on the carpet. He followed them to where I was now. Resting near the sink. I rolled over and showed him my stomach. How embarrassing this would be when they know I'm actually human. Or - wait... could this be some sort of reincarnation?

I felt Tony's hand bearly touch my fur, but it was partly clean now. I purred under his touch, Tony saw how I reacted and buried his hand in my fur. I squinted my eyes in contentment, I wish it could stay like this. Tony then pulled away and moved to the fridge. I huffed in disappointment but then realised, I liked it. Very unlike me.

I stood up and shook my fur and jumped down to the tiled floor. The cold feeling on my paw pads was more soothing than uncomfortable. I then shuffled over to Tony, my head poking inti the fridge, mimicking what he was doing.
