The sound of the shower running caught Morph's attention. Their head perked up at the steam rolling out of the shower. “Gambit?” They took a step forward peeking around the wall slightly. “Logan? Too many redheads for ya huh?” They chuckled softly. “Need me to help with those hard to reach places?” Morph's hand transformed to mirror Logan's claw. Their eyes lingered on the claw for a second. That's when Logan spoke. “Always fun and games with you aye Morph?” That voice… it wasn't Logan- Morph's blood ran cold. They began to back away. No. No. No. Not him. Anyone but him. Their chest felt tight, their head spun. “As if I don't know, As if we all don't know.” know what? There was absolutely nothing to know. Morph backed away as the Logan shaped figure stepped out of the steam that shielded it. It wasn't anything Morph hadn't seen before. Yeah They'd had flings before, nothing deeper. They were buds. Not…not anything more. “Cmon Morph. Say it. Say what you're thinkin' what your always thinkin’. “ the figure approached them. Their back hit the warm damp wall of the showers. Rough fingers met their chin. The fingers felt so familiar, the calloused skin was like a warm blanket. They were comfort. “You're not him. I don't need to say anything to you!” They pushed against the figure's chest to push it away. The facade slipped and standing there was…something way scarier than Morph's own complex emotions. Mr.Sinister. A crackly laugh echoed through the air. It made Morph shiver. They looked up at him. “You can't escape it can you? Forever everyone's plaything. You're just a substitute for him, you know.” Morph looked away. They couldn't even look him in the eye. He wasn't wrong. He knew it. Yeah Logan was Their buddy but… He loved Jean. They knew he'd never love them. “You're just there for him to pretend you're her.” Sinister's voice was laced with satisfaction. Morph couldn't breathe. Sinister. Their own thoughts. It was too much. Their knees felt weak. “Shut up!” They cried out glaring up at the figure. “You don't know anything! It doesn't matter if he loves me!” They glared at him, their hand had never shifted back… They brought their hand up stabbing the figure right through the stomach. Damn. Logan's claws really made quick work of this asshole. A poof of smoke clouded their vision and when it cleared the figure was gone. Right? They noticed Logan standing right there. He wasn't naked this time, he was in his suit…he was scraped and cut. Was this actually him? “Are you real?” Their voice trembled slightly as they stepped forward. They still felt as if they might collapse. “Yeah- it's me-” the gruff voice held none of that crackly dissonance. It was Logan's voice. How long had he been standing there? “Logan I-” He shook his head in response. “Don't worry ‘bout it.” Morph opened their mouth to speak again but was only met by the real strong calloused hands holding them up. “Morph. I said don't worry ‘bout it.” he muttered. They stared up at him, their eyes scanning his face for any anger. He looked angry but that was more of his natural expression than any actual emotion. Logan Must've picked up on Morph's panicked searching. His expression softened. Morph once again tried to speak but before they knew it rough lips were against theirs. Their mind raced. Wait what the hell was he doing? Why was he kissing them? “It's alright. Don't worry ‘bout it… I do care about ya Morph.” Morph knew that was Logan’s way of saying love. And that was enough for them. Though something still made them doubt everything. Was this real? Was this another trick? They knew the difference but- was Logan pulling a prank or something? He was too serious to do something like that- was he- did he- “You do?” Their voice was barely audible, fearing this might go wrong if they spoke any louder. “Yeah- I do bud.” That cocky smirk they loved so much spread across Logan’s face. Morph could feel tears burning their eyes. They wrapped their arms around Logan and squeezed. Their body was still shaking from the whole ordeal. It was over. For now, Sinister is gone. It was just them.
