Day 278
Osian woke up still curled against the wall. Their eyes burned and their lungs ached. They were definitely sick with… something. They just didn’t know what. The scientists would fix it. Probably.
A low groan left them as they turned their head to face the crack in the wall.
“Jamie?”
No response.
Osian sighed. She’s probably still sleeping.
“I’ve been thinking about trying to get out of here… somehow. I mean, it can’t be impossible, right?” They let out a dry laugh that turned into a barking cough. The mutant pressed their forehead against the cool concrete, but it didn’t do much.
“If I get out of here, I’m coming back for you. I promise. We can go back to our old lives. I’m sure my parents could help you get back on your feet if you really needed it.” They closed their eyes, face contorting in pain for a second as the burn traveled up their back once more.
Still nothing.
“Just… please… talk to me. I’m kind of going crazy over here from the silence and those scientists aren’t the greatest to converse with.” A snort escaped them, followed by a wheeze.
“Alright. You just… rest I guess. Or whatever you’re doing. We’ll talk later, yeah?” They patted their hand against the wall and then used their claw to scrape a small line into the concrete.
That makes ten.
Ten days since Jamie last spoke.
