jungeun entered jinsols apartment with the spare key she had been given.
jinsol was at her final class of the day and jungeun had finished hers already. it was always the same on fridays. however, jungeun would usually go back to her apartment and jinsol would join her after freshening up at her own place - this time, it was opposite. jungeun was at jinsols.
she hadn't been at jinsols that many times, 5 at most. she was used to dropping jinsol home or walking her home but never really inside that much.
she stepped into the place, closing the door gently behind her before removing her shoes and jacket. she entered the living room and placed her bag down on the couch. she took her phone out and sent jinsol a quick message. it saying, 'hey sol, im at urs :)'
she put it with her bag again then walked out and entered the kitchen, pouring herself a water before heading to jinsols bedroom.
jungeun sat on the bed and took a small sip of her water. she glanced over at her closet and bit her lip. she so desperately wanted to steal one of jinsols hoodies. she noticed one thrown on the floor and worked it out to be her favourite hoodie. smiling to herself, she got off and picked the hoodie up then pulling it over head.
she smiled contently as she wore the hoodie. it was warm and had jinsols scent on it. perfect.
deciding to look around the room, jungeun stood up and walked over to her desk where she saw jinsols makeup, a bottle of water, a charger and a picture of jinsol and jungeun. the smile never left her lips as she looked around the room. it only grew wider when she saw jinsols lego collection on a desk.
she knew how much jinsol loved building lego and had even bought her a new set on her birthday and at christmas time too.
she remembered when jinsol first invited her over. they had been together for a few months at that time and she was so excited to tell her and show her about the collection that took her days of nonstop building and barely any sleep.
jinsol was still a child at heart, enjoying the small things. for example, building lego and gundams, she always loved to be hugged and she was always pouting.
jungeun loved how cute jinsol was.
she looked at everything jinsol had built and couldn't hold back the smile. no matter how many times she saw it, it was still adorable.
however, jungeuns worst nightmare came true when she tripped over a pillow that was on the floor and fell, stumbling towards the desk. her arm fell onto jinsols lego and it crushed and fell onto the floor. jungeun also hurt her ankle because of how she fell.
jungeun noticed how she had broken the lego and broke into tears. she had accidently ruined her girlfriend most prized possession and she knew well that the set which broke was the one that took the longest to build.
she sobbed and sobbed, regretting what happened so badly. she felt a sharp pain through her ankle too, making her wince in pain. that though, was at the back of her mind, no matter how bad it hurt.
what the hell would she tell jinsol about her precious lego?
jungeun sat and cried, not knowing how to tell jinsol what happened. she knew her girlfriend would be mad and hurt. of course she would be. it was an accident though and that's what she needed to make sure jinsol understood.
suddenly she got a message through from jinsol saying.
'alr baby! im on my way home so see u soon, ilysm<33'
jungeun read it and froze. jinsol would be home soon and see what she had done. she managed to stop herself from crying and hurried into the bathroom, splashing water on her face to calm down.
she dried her face then walked out of the bathroom. her ankle still hurt. it hurt quite alot and she had a bit of a limp but she tried to forget about it as she stressed about jinsols lego.
she went downstairs and waited by the door for jinsol to enter.
when she did, she was all smiles and happily said, "hey baby! i missed you!"
"hey." jungeun said, slightly smiling back and gulping. she was so scared to tell jinsol, especially since sue was in such a good mood.
"you okay?" jinsol asked as she shut the door and took off her shoes. she leant over and pecked jungeuns lips.
"look, i have to tell you something." jungeun said quietly, looking at the floor as she held back tears.
"what is it, my love?" jinsol asked, cupping jungeuns cheek and made her look up, seeing her on the brink of tears. "oh baby, what's up?"
before jungeun got the chance to answer, jinsol took jungeuns hand and tugged her to the bedroom to give her a hoodie and cuddles before jungeun got too upset.
the second she stepped in, she froze in shock and forced jungeuns hand away. she immediately saw her lego broken and stared at it in shock.
"baby-" jungeun started but was cut of by a sting on her cheek. jinsol had slapped her around the face.
"what did you do to my lego?" she asked angrily.
jungeun started crying as she held her cheek. "i-im sorry okay! it was an accident i swear!" she said and took a step away from jinsol because of how angry she was. it scared her.
"what the fuck did you do, kim jungeun?" jinsol asked, rage visible in her eyes.
through her tears, she managed to say, "i-i came in here and was looking around and i tripped on one of your pillows that was on the floor and twisted my ankle and landed on it. it was an accident, please believe me."
"you fucking broke it." jinsol said and scoffed. "what a bitch."
"baby... it was an accident, please please listen to me." jungeun begged, taking jinsols hands. "please know it was an accident and i feel so fucking bad."
"you should feel bad." jinsol said, pushing jungeun off of her. jungeun winced slightly due to her ankle but tried not to make any sounds of pain. "you're so fucking clumsy, jungeun. you could've grabbed anything other than that?"
"i fell onto it, jinsol." jungeun said and felt another sting on her cheek. this time, her lip started bleeding slightly.
"i don't want to talk to you right now, jungeun. im done." jinsol said and took a seat on her bed, looking back at the lego with tears in her eyes. "just... go out and dont talk to me until im ready. you know that lego took me fucking days to complete."
"i know, baby." jungeun said and walked to jinsol, pecking a kiss on her forehead. "i love you and im really sorry."
she walked out of the room and shut the door, letting out a sigh. her ankle was still super sore and now her cheek was stinging. she called sooyoung.
"hey jungeun." sooyoung said happily.
"hey, can you pick me up?" jungeun asked. "i need to go to the mall with you."
"yeah sure, any reason?" sooyoung said. "wait, aren't you at jinsols?"
"yeah but ill explain in the car." jungeun said and hung up.
she walked back to jinsols bedroom and knocked on the door. "baby, im going out for a bit."
jinsol didn't reply and jungeun sighed, walking outside to wait for sooyoung. she exited the building and saw sooyoung, somehow, already there.
she got in the car and the elders eyes widened, seeing jungeuns bright red cheek and blood stained lip. "what the fuck happened to you?" sooyoung asked.
"basically..." jungeun said and explained what happened on the drive to the mall.
"oh shit." sooyoung said. "and we're going to the mall because?"
"im gonna buy her the lego set she's been wanting for months now." jungeun smiled.
"after her shouting at you and slapping you, you're buying her something?" sooyoung raised her eyebrow.
"im repaying her. i broke her lego, she needs to know how sorry i am." jungeun said. "plus, she deserves it. she's always so kind to me."
"well except today." sooyoung muttered.
"i know." jungeun nodded.
they pulled up at the mall and jungeun got out of the car as quickly as possible to run into the mall. she rushed to the lego store and picked up the set jinsol had been desperately wanting and found another thing she had seen jinsol eye up for quite some time now.
"you're buying her two?" sooyoung asked. "jungeun, they're expensive."
"i don't care, sooyoung. i want to get them for her." jungeun replied and went to go and pay.
once buying the lego, she headed to the nearest foodstore and bought jinsols favourite takeout for them to share that night. being extra, she went to a floral shop and bought jinsols favourite flowers before sighing contently.
she looked over at sooyoung. "im done, let's go!"
"why"d you drag me here with you when you can drive?" sooyoung asked as they walked out to the car.
"just because! i didn't want to be lonely and i walked over to jinsols so didn't have my car, i didn't want to chance driving her car and she get even more angry with me." jungeun replied. they reached the car and got in.
they drove in silence for a few minutes before pulling up outside of jinsols place. "if she's still mad at you, call me and ill come over and beat her ass." sooyoung said.
"got it." jungeun nodded and got out. "thanks for taking me."
jungeun carried the things and entered jinsols apartment.
she placed the things down and walked to her bedroom, gently knocking on the door. "hey baby, im home, is it okay if we can have a talk?" she asked softly.
no reply.
"look, i get it, you're giving me the silent treatment and i deserve it but please can you say something?" jungeun asked.
still no reply.
"i get that you're mad at me. you can stay mad. i bet you hate me now, huh. i broke something special to you but i just need to know you're okay." jungeun said and took a deep breath. after a few seconds, she still got no reply so she decided to give up.
"i'm just gonna go home, jinsol." jungeun spoke. "i guess talk to me when you're ready."
"don't go." a soft but broken voice called from inside the bedroom. "please don't leave."
"jindori, can i come in, please?" jungeun asked.
"yes."
jungeun opened the door and walked in, seeing jinsol sitting on the bed with tear stained cheeks and red eyes, a blanket wrapped around her body and over her head and the lego still in the same place.
jungeun sat down on the edge of the bed and leant over to lay her head on jinsols lap. "im really sorry baby. really really super sorry. i shouldve been more careful. you can still be mad at me, i just had to apologise again."
"im not mad." jinsol replied quietly. "i was mad when i first saw what happened but after i shouted... i regret it so badly. i just felt hurt that something i put alot of time into was smashed but i can rebuild it. its not the end of the world. i thought about what you said the second you said you were going out and jungeunnie, im the one whos sorry. i blamed you, i shouted, i slapped you."
"it's okay." jungeun replied, meeting jinsols eyes, a small smile on her lips.
"is your ankle okay?" jinsol asked.
"it hurts but i think ive sorta walked the pain away." jungeun said then stood up. "lemme go grab something, stay here."
she walked to the living room and picked up what she bought and put it down outside of the room. at first, jungeun walked in with the big bouquet of flowers and handed them to jinsol.
"m-me and sooyoung went to the mall so i bought you these..." jungeun shyly said. jinsol took them and smiled.
"you didn't have to, baby."
jungeun disappeared from the room and returned with the food. "i got this too, your favourite."
"thanks baby."
"can you close your eyes?" jungeun asked. "and please no peeking."
jinsol agreed and squeezed her eyes shut as tight as she could, making jungeun giggle.
jungeun picked up the two boxes of lego and held them carefully so they wouldn't make a noise. she walked back into the room and said "open your eyes, baby."
jinsol opened her eyes and her jaw dropped to the floor when she saw the lego in jungeuns hand. "is that...?" she asked, pointing to the set on the left.
"yes, baby, its the set you've wanted for ages." jungeun replied, a soft smile on her lips. "and this one, ive seen you stare at it so many times whenever we go to the mall but you've never said anything about it so... i got it for you."
"jungeun i-i don't even know what to say... thank you so much!" jinsol said, her eyes filling with happy tears and she pulled her girlfriend by the wrist to hug her. "you didn't have to get them baby... the flowers and food was enough."
"hey." jungeun pouted. "i went out and spent money on you, be grateful."
"i am grateful, baby." jinsol spoke softly, a genuine smile on her lips as she looked at the lego. "i just can't believe you got it for me..."
jungeun nuzzled her nose into jinsols neck and inhaled before sighing contently. "i love you, im still sorry for what i did."
"stop apologising, jungeunnie." jinsol replied. "let's eat then... can we... c-can we start to build the lego together?" she shyly asked.
"of course."
"yay!" jinsol squealed then looked at jungeun. "your lip is puffy and your cheek is red. im sorry."
"it's alright, i deserved it."
"hush blaming yourself." jinsol said, tapping the youngers nose. "your ankle is also swollen, let me go get something frozen for you to hold on it."
"no baby, im okay." jungeun spoke, taking jinsols hand. "let's just eat, okay? then we can clear up the mess and build the new lego."
"okay." jinsol said and tried to hold back the smile on her lips.
she threw herself into jungeuns arms. "thank you so so so much for the lego... im so happy, i love you so much."
"i love you too baby." jungeun smiled.
that night, jinsol was repeatedly thanking, kissing and giving jungeun lots of love, so grateful for the lego.
they stayed up all night together building it while music played in the background.
they may have even spend the night getting a little too touchy but that's not relevant here...
