Note
So, I'm trying to do a classic, school, with a 2000s aura and slight AU story, I'm not sure how this is going to evolve, this is my first time writing something, and English is not my first language, so please be nice:)I accept suggestions and constructive criticism btw.

Sacred New Beginning

Billy woke up as always, nothing really different, except for the fact that this was his first day of school after vacation, so he got up and took a fast shower then grabbed some jeans and a sweater, even when it wasn't really cold outside, then he went downstairs to watch his mother being in a rush yelling for his father, also in a rush, to take his brothers to school.

"Honey, there are some scrambled eggs in the pan, are you taking the bus or do you want me to drive you?"

His mother was a great mother, actually, he had a great family, they weren't rich but they could afford nice things, his father was present, his mother was loving and his brothers were, well, they were something.

"I'll be fine, I can take the bus" He didn't want to stress even more to his mother, she had enough with figuring out how to get to her job in time. So he sat on the table and took his phone to scroll through Instagram or something, maybe the Fantastic Four saved the earth from Galactus and he did not even realize, that's when he received a message from his, well, it's complicated, Tommy was his brother, actually, he was his twin, but they didn't interact much, because some weird thing that happened when they born, their mom didn't know she was going to have twins, and the hospital separated them at birth, and apparently, the had been living in the same zone of the city for like, all their lives, anyway, he received a message from him.

"Hey lil bro, watcha doing?"

"I'm having breakfast, why are you awake at this time? you always wake up five minutes before going to school"

"If I'm being honest, even I don't know why, anyway, I saw Rebecca leave, without you, do you want me to give you a ride?"

"I will never fully trust you when it comes to driving, but sure, just don't kill anyone, including me"

"I could never"

"Sureeeeeeeeeeee"

He turned off his phone and ended up his breakfast, grabbed his backpack, and stopped to think about how many notebooks he should put in his backpack, finally deciding that 6 would be fine. He glanced at the clock and realized he had a few minutes to spare before Tommy would arrive, with a shrug, he decided to make the most of the extra time and grabbed a granola bar from the pantry, stuffing it into his pocket for later.

Just as he finished, he heard the familiar rumble of Tommy's surprisingly well-kept car pulling into the driveway. Billy grabbed his keys and headed out the door, locking it behind him. Tommy leaned over and unlocked the passenger side door with a grin.

"Hop on, !"

Billy rolled his eyes but couldn't suppress a smile.

"Just promise me you won't get us killed."

Tommy raised a hand, pretending to be offended.

"Hey, I'm offended! Just so you know, I only almost crashed like, twice."

"So, any plans for today?" Tommy asked, looking at Billy as they navigated the morning traffic. Billy shrugged.

"Not really. I probably only survived the first day back at school."

Tommy chuckled. "Sounds like a plan. Oh, by the way, have you heard about that new girl who transferred to our school? Rumor has it she's really cute."

Billy raised an eyebrow. "Really? You're already looking for new girls?" Tommy smiled unapologetically.

"Hey, I'm just keeping my options open. You never know when you'll meet your soulmate."

As they approached the school, Billy and Tommy split up and headed to their respective classes. Billy made his way through the bustling hallways, the familiar sights and sounds of school welcoming him after summer break. He couldn't help but feel a sense of anticipation mixed with a touch of nervousness as he opened the door to his first class of the day: math. Taking his usual seat towards the back of the classroom, Billy looked around and noticed the familiar faces of his classmates.

As the chatter died down and the teacher began taking roll, there was a sudden flurry of activity near the door, a girl with black hair and a purple diadem entered the classroom excusing herself, she took the seat next to Billy.

Whispering she asked, "Hey, did I miss something important?"

He answered "Nah, she's just taking roll-"

"Miss Bishop, could you help me by not interrupting my class?"

They both kept quiet, suppressing a small laugh while the teacher continued to take the roll.

"Kate"

Billy was about to answer when the teacher called his name

" William Kaplan"

"Here"

"Don't even think about calling me like that, I'm Billy"

When the teacher finished taking roll, he began to write some exercises on the blackboard and said that they could be done alone or in pairs, Kate nodded to Billy, indicating if they could do the job together, to which Billy responded affirmatively.

As they started working on the exercises, Billy couldn't help but notice how quickly Kate picked up on the problems. Despite his initial nervousness, he seemed to understand the concepts quite well.

"So" Billy began, trying to make small talk while solving an equation, "where did you move from?"

"California," Kate replied, not taking her eyes off the paper. "My dad got a new job here, so we had to move. It's a big change, but I think I'm starting to like it."

"California, huh? That sounds good. I visited once" Billy said, typing a response.

"Yes, it's great. Lots of sun and beaches. What about you? Have you always lived here?" Kate asked, looking at him.

"Sort of," Billy responded with a shrug. "New York has always been my home. I guess it has its charm, sometimes you even see spiderman swinging around"

"Cool"

His first class had just finished and Billy was leaving the classroom when he heard "Look who's back"

When he turned around just to see that the person in front of him was John Kesler, something like his bully for the last 2 years.

"Fuck" he said to himself, he had hoped that Kesler would've moved of school or something, but was proven wrong, so here we are.

Billy braced himself as John Kesler approached, his usual smirk plastered across his face. "Hey, Kaplan, how was your summer? Did you spend it hiding under your bed?"

Billy forced a calm smile. "Nice to see you too, John. My summer was great, thanks for asking."

John's smile widened as he cornered Billy against a locker. "Yeah, I'm sure it was. Don't think just because it's a new school year, things are going to be any different."

Billy felt a surge of frustration but kept his cool. "Wouldn't dream of it, John."

"Who the fuck you think you are?!?" Kate said approaching Kesler, before even letting Kesler respond Kate continued "Actually, I really don't care, get away from him, now"

"What's the problem, pretty? I'm just talking to an old friend"

"I don't think so, neither I care, get away"

"Leave him alone John, we have Spanish" Said a blonde boy in the distance.

"Oh c'mon, we're just having fun" Kesler answered to the boy, while Billy couldn't help but look at the boy, who was way taller and bigger than the three of 'em.

"I'm serious, leave him" He said with a firm tone.

"Just because you ask so nicely.." He said while leaving with the blonde boy, looking defeated and crestfallen.

"That was helpful"

"Are you telling me or the pretty boy?" Kate asked raising an eyebrow.

"Both, but, you think he's pretty?"

"Nah, but you definitely do"

"W-What? I don't think he's pre-"

"William, you are obvious as hell"

Billy didn't answer, he just turned to hide his slight blush.
