"FIRE THE CANNONS!"

The pirates struggle to get to the cannons as the ship is tilting as it tries to get over the raging waves. The rain falling making the wood slippery.

"I GOT IT!" A female shouted, grabbing onto the railing and pulling herself to the cannon. She puts a ball in the cannon. Pointing at the other ship, aiming, till she lights it up and then shot at them. It successfully hits them. The crew letting out a cheer for the pirate girl.

"NICE ONE BLAKE!" The monkey boy shouted, laughing as he curses at the other ship. Blake rolled her eyes as she laughs.

"Those humans don't have the skills to get through this storm unlike us. They won't be following us. Good job crew!" The captain shouted. Blake smiles. She looks up at the captain, who is her father, Ghira.

"Blake that was great! You managed to aim, while a storm is rocking the ship, and hit them! That's fucking insane!"

"Sun, seriously it's nothing." Blake chuckled.

"You really are the captain's daughter." Sun grins. He then almost lost his footing, his hands now on the railing. He laughed nervously.

"EY! GO DO THE REPAIRS!" Ghira yelled at Sun, who sighed.

"Good job honey."

Blake turns around. Seeing Ilia, which she smiled. "You're looking a bit drenched."

"You think?" Ilia laughed. Blake grins. She fixed her hat and held on till Ghira gets the ship out of the storm.

"I think I should give you a gift for being the best pirate on this crew." Ilia gets close to Blake, who blushes a bit.

They both are about to lean in till they heard a loud bang. Blake looks ahead, seeing a cannonball heading towards them.

"ILIA!" Blake screamed. She pushed Ilia far, before the ball hits the ship. The ground broke under Blake. Falling onto some broken wooden floor. She falls off, crashing into the water. All she heard was many voice screaming her name before she fell into the water.

Blake looked at the surface. Swimming up, but even when she reached to the surface, the waves would push her right back down. Blake hopes that her father would come back. But when Blake swam to the surface again, she saw that the ship was far away. They couldn't save Blake. This was it.

This was how Blake was going to die.

'I don't wanna die... but it seems like I don't have a choice.'

Once the wave crashes into her again, she doesn't bother swimming again. She allowed her body to sink. The salty water burns her insides. She feels her head going lighter. Feeling like she's floating. Her vision was getting darker and darker... Blake's eyelids getting heavier by seconds.

Before she closed them, she caught a faint glimpse of something... orange. But it was too late. Blake lost consciousness. Thinking this was the last time she would see the world.

All she could think of was how heartbroken everyone would be. Her dear friend Sun, then her girlfriend Ilia. Her mother would be so sad. Her father would be blaming himself. Her crew would miss her.

Blake lets the darkness take her over.

Unaware that a creature has found her...

. . .

Blake suddenly let out a choked cough. She rolled onto her side, coughing up anything that blocked her airway.

"Fuck...!"

Blake hissed. Her eyes wearily opens. Blinking a few times to clear her vision. Sand... wait sand?

Blake sat up, coughing a few times. She looks around. There's land. Is she on a island? Or a small land? But... didn't she drown? How did she get here?

"Well... shit." Blake strained as she wobbly stood up. Her chest hurts. Her head hurts. Her body just felt sore. All Blake wants to do is just fall over and sleep but she knows that's not an option.

She has to survive. Her crew will come for her. They have too. Hopefully...

"I'll just... make fire... do I still have... good." Blake was glad to see that she still has her sword. She pulls it out, coming up to a tree before chopping it.

Little does she know, something is watching her. A large creature in the water, staring at the Faunus. Curious on what she's doing.

"Come on... just a spark please..."

The creature tilts its head as they see Blake hitting two rocks together, creating tiny sparks. Till eventually there was finally fire. Blake sighs in relief. Happy to get some heat. She's freezing cold, and while there was fire, Blake isn't even sure if she'll make it overnight. Since she's at risk for hypothermia. And she's alone. Or so she thinks.

Blake saw something in the water to which it disappeared immediately. Blake immediately drew out her sword.

"Wait what am I doing..? God I'm hallucinating..." Blake drops her sword, holding her head. She's stressed. Death could be here for her. She doubt anyone's coming for her. She'll probably be stuck here till there's no more resources.

"I just want to go home..." Blake mumbles. She hugs her knees as she stares at the fire. Missing home. Where she'd be laughing with her family and friends as they tell stories about their adventures over the sea. Singing songs together and maybe even roughhouse a little. Her ear folds back. Coughing a bit.

"YANG WH-"

"Shh!"

"Mnmmhm!"

"It'll hear us! Shut up!"

Her ears immediately perks up. She grabs her sword and immediately stood up. "WHOS THERE?! Show yourself!" Blake shouted. She heard splashing and looked the water, seeing a... blonde woman... who has fin ears and a fish tail. She's... big.... wait-

"H-Huh?!"

"Yo." The mermaid smiles. Half of her body was submerged underwater, only her tail fins stuck out.

The blonde has really pretty lilac eyes, and her scales are a beautiful orange/yellow color. They're shiny and sparkly...

Blake nervously points at the mermaid.

"Hey now, I saved you, and this is the thanks I get?" The mermaids ears went down. "It's not easy to pull out a human with one arm too!"

"Uh..." Blake stares at... ah... its an amputated arm. Poor thing. Blake just gulps. "You saved me?"

"Yeah! I was just swimming with my sister when you just, fell! You're pretty funny for not swimming. What are you, an idiot?" The mermaid giggled. Blake scowls.

"I was drowning..." She coughed.

The mermaid tilts her head. Ah. She probably doesn't know what that means. "Nevermind that! Uh... What's your name?"

"Yang."

"Ah. I'm Blake... uh... why did you save me? We're different." Blake questioned. Yang frowned.

"That's funny. You're a faunus aren't you? What do you mean by 'different'...?"

"Well uh... faunus are... people who breathe on land. You're a sea creature and never interact with us... so-"

"So basically you're like the humans who hates us? That's disappointing." Yang sighed. Blake hits herself in the head.

"I'm sorry I- I didn't mean to say that. I'm just- ugh. I'm just not feeling well." Blake said as she sat down on the sand. Holding her face. The mermaid genuinely looks concerned. She struggles but tried to push herself towards Blake. Scooting as she drags her tail out of the water. Blake now could see her tail... its long... and beautiful.

"Uhhh why don't you feel well?"

"I'm too tired and cold to explain." Blake mumbles as she laid down. Covering her face with her arm. Till Blake felt an arm around her and she was pulled into a hug. The mermaid purrs a bit. It can purr???

"Uh.."

"What?"

"What are you doing?" Blake squeaks.

"I'm... holding you so you can feel better? Isn't that what you people do? Or is that just a sea faunus thing?" Yang questioned. Blake sighed.

"I don't know." Blake mumbles as she lets out a small cough. The mermaid chirps a bit. What's with all the strange noises? If she had her book with her, she'd be writing down notes about the Mermaids.

"You know, I was sure you were dead! You just wouldn't wake up and you were pale! I just assumed that was it for you." Yang commented. Blake rolls her eyes. She just closes her eyes.

"Yang! What are you doing?" The red tailed mermaid shouted from the water.

"Helping this fellow faunus. I'm just not gonna let her die."

Ruby swims closer to the shore. Eyeing at Yang then the Faunus. "You sure that's a good idea?"

"She's too weak to attack me, I can tell. I'll be fine. Plus I'm tirreddd!" Yang yawned. Getting comfortable on the sand before falling asleep. Ruby sighed before swimming away.

"It's all my fault! I could've saved her! But no...!"

"Ilia..."

"Captian... I'm not seeing anything." A crew member reports.

"I DONT CARE! WE WILL FIND HER!" Ghira shouted. He was trying so hard to be strong but deep inside, he knows that Blake may just as well be dead.

"What do we do...?" Sun questioned. He was comforting Ilia, they knew each other well since they're close with Blake.

"I don't know... I don't want to go home and tell my wife that our daughter is dead..." Ghira let out a roar of frustration. He's angry and upset.

Sun looks out, watching the calm water. He closes his eyes. Giving his best wish to Blake.

"She's out there... I know she is! I- I can feel it! She's out there!" Ilia shouted.

"Ilia, she's dead." Sun said bluntly. Ilia let out a cry of frustration. She crouched down, holding her head as she sobbed.

"Let's go home." Ghira spoke. There was no emotion in his voice. This was going to be a rough week.
