Light virus

Date: Year: 1968

According to the records in the database, in this world Umbrella found animal remains that had been frozen for tens of thousands of years.

It was a palm-sized piece of flesh and blood tissue. Umbrella also tried to identify the remains of any type of animal, but no matter what method it used.

It was as if this animal had never appeared in this world.

This conclusion surprised the Umbrella Corporation, and at the same time they increased their research on this piece of flesh and blood tissue and soon discovered a strange virus on this piece of tissue.

Because this piece of flesh and blood tissue that came tens of thousands of years ago radiates vitality as if it were new, this virus was called the virus of light.

As the research deepened, the Umbrella Corporation discovered that the Light Virus had many unique properties and was completely different from viruses found in the modern world.

This also allowed them to increase their research investments, and even began fusion research to combine the light virus with different cells and genes.

Before the Umbrella Corporation could study the properties of this new virus, the virus was leaked to the City of Hope.

The city was quarantined and the virus's effect was secretly tested on the residents of the fake city of "Hope", Idaho. The light virus quickly spiraled out of control with the creation of an infected army.

The only one who remained intelligent was Elizabeth Green, whose body was perfect for developing the Light Virus.

The city is destroyed by Umbrella, and Elizabeth is detained for further study.

At that time, he began testing the red light virus on humans without any side effects.

Initially, none of the administered pathogens harmed the unknown citizens of Hope.

Viral tests on chimpanzees showed promising results, but for months humans in Hope, Idaho, showed no symptoms.

The first sign of success is the “children of hope”, children who carried the virus before they were born.

After birth, each child exhibits unique characteristics, but each child then dies of health complications after only a few years.

By 1968, newborns were dying from the light virus.

Black Watch scientists hypothesize that the deliveries are failed attempts by the virus to fully activate non-coding regions of the human genome.

In 1969, the light virus was created as an experimental biological weapon.

Secretly tested on the residents of the fake City of Hope, Idaho, the Light Virus quickly spirals out of control while creating an infected army.

The only one who remained intelligent was Elizabeth Green, whose body was perfect for developing the Light Virus.

The city is destroyed by the Black Watch, and Elizabeth is detained for further study.

But the virus found an ideal host in Green

She was able to withstand the virus and produce a new strain (one of 14 discovered) that made her body, among other things, a factory for deadly viruses, and gave her supernatural abilities.

The disappointing results ended in 1969 when a virus mutated inside Elizabeth Green's body, becoming the first aggressive strain of blacklight virus.

Umbrella allows the virus to consume the city, collecting valuable data in the process.

Once the infection is complete, the military kills the entire population, but as Patient Zero, Green's life is spared.

Gentek was later tasked by Umbrella to conduct research on Greene and the thousands of Blacklight variants her body produces.
