To say that billy was panicking would be to put it mildly. He had genuinely been getting better at dealing with the unexpected, it was something he had been working on with Jason and the others and was to the point he could handle the majority of small unplanned inconveniences and surprises. No the issue was that this was not a minor inconvenience, in fact dare he say having his thesis defense rescheduled to occur 13 days sooner than originally planned was a pretty fucking major inconvenience. 13 days! That was 1 day short of 2 weeks! And the worst part of it all was that it would now be taking place while most of the school was still on winter break, Zack Kim and Trini were very much still spending quality time with there families. Billy was honestly lucky that Jason had insisted that the two of them stay and watch the groups house while the others had headed home for the holidays. Jason had tried to his best to keep his fiance calm through the recent chaos, and Billy adored him for that but he was still shaken, frazzled, and upset. His mom had even planned to fly out to support him and now those plane tickets were wasted.
Today was the day, with his thesis defense scheduled for 5pm this evening Jason had insisted the two of them go out for lunch at Billy's favorite restaurant a way to try and relax his mind before one of the no doubt most stressful events of his entire life. As they turned the corner and walked into the parking lot, Billy was surprised to see and hear a cargo moving van decorated with balloons, streamers, and 3 massive cardboard signs decorated with giant glitter bubble-letters reading "Let's go Billy" in black, "Blast them out of this world" in yellow, and "Wow! You done it." in pink. An he was downright elated to see that surrounding it were not only his mother but this three best friends in the galaxy.
Billy: You all really put aside everything and came all this way for me?
Mrs. Cranston: Well while you called me heartbroken and explained about your thesis defense being moved forward so suddenly, I am assuming Jason here made a few calls of his own and hatched a plan because not 48 hours later Mrs. Trini Hart here came knocking on my door and politely asked me to pack my bags and get a move on.
Billy: But, how did you even get here so fast?
Mrs. Cranston: Several traffic violations.
Kimberly: Two very sketchy motels.
Zack: Roughly enough caffeine to launch the space shuttle.
Trini: Also I may have, technically speaking, stolen this U-Haul.
