what I heard is-
"So..are you going to tell me what exactly you heard then or not?" Sara asked on the other side of the phone.
"Ughh I am, it's- it's just not a phone talk, if you joined me, Rosh, and Ayub today I could tell y'all at the same time," Simon offered, knowing that he should take her out so Wilhelm could have some time with Felice. "How does that sound?"
"Fine, I'm in. As long as you promise to say what you heard and why are you freaked out about it, even though I'm kind of offended that you won’t tell your big sis first," she agreed, "When and where do we meet?"
"Around twelveish in the park nearby."
"Okay, then I'm going to get ready, me and Felice will be over for breakfast in twenty minutes. Adiós, Simme. Whatever it is just don't overthink it."
"Mhm, adios, Sara. Wait what-" she hung up on him.
"Over for breakfast? What? Since when they are invited?" He mumbled to himself.
Simon then opened a group chat with his friends and started typing.
The golden trio
10:42 a.m.
Simon: Hey guys! I hope it will be okay if Sara goes w us instead of Wille
Rosh: Sure thing!! Is he occupied or something?
Simon: Yeah, kind of...
He and Felice are going to make a plan for how should she propose to Sara 🤫
Ayub: PROPOSE?!?!??!?!
OMG, SHE GREW UP SO FAST🥹
Rosh: Don't act like she is your child, Auyb
But I'm also really happy for them
Simon: There is also another reason why Sara going w us
Ayub: Oh, what is it?
Simon: So yesterday four of us went out to the party, right?
Rosh: I guess
Simon: And I may or may not have overheard something)))
And now Sara is begging me to tell her what was it about, so I want u two also hear it and tell me what to do
Ayub: Interesting 🤔
Rosh: Is that something we have to worry abt?
Simon: No
Absolutely not
Rosh: Okay then
He turned his phone off, sliding it into his back pocket, and got up from his bed. Simon headed toward the door, entering the living room. The sweet smell of some food from the kitchen greeted him, along with some noise. Simon quickly made his way there. Getting close to Wille’s back, peeking through his shoulder at what he was cooking.
"Hey," he said, right in the other's ear.
"Oh, hey. You are awake already," Wille turned to face him, but he didn't think Simon was so close and for a moment their lips brushed, it wasn't a kiss, just a slight quick touch. Touch that sent butterflies in his stomach and thunder through his whole body. "Shit, I'm so sorry," he panicked as he moved aside, while Simon's face was neutral. No expressions.
"I'm not," he said, "What are you cooking? It smells so good," Simon asked, trying to see the dish again.
"French toasts," he replied, "Felice is coming over soon, I told her to take Sara with her as well so we could have breakfast together."
"Oh, so that was you who invited them over."
"Yeah, why?"
"Nothing."
They settled all up til the time the girls arrived. And as they did, all of them sat down at the round dinner table. Eating, chatting, and laughing. Though there was a kind of distance between the boys, even if they tried to act normally. Mostly from Wilhelm's side, Simon acted like nothing unusual happened.
Later on, as they finished breakfast, they turned on a morning TV program, settling themselves comfortably on the couch. When half-past eleven came around Simon disappeared in his room and began to get ready, while Wille, Sara, and Felice were still sitting on a couch in the living room talking about last night.
"So how did you sleep, Feli?" Wilhelm asked his friend, knowing how tough it probably was, considering how much she drank.
"Gladly, did not vomit," she giggled.
"Good for you."
"She maybe didn't vomit, but definitely snored," Sara teased her girlfriend.
"Hey, do not expose me," the curly girl pointed her index finger to the other girl's face.
"That's okay, honey. There is nothing to be embarrassed about."
Simon came in the room, wearing some tight black tank top, black leather pants, sunglasses, which stole from Wille, the necklace that he bought a few weeks ago, and.... fucking eyeliner!
"Sara, I'm ready to go," he informed, taking all attention in the room.
Wille’s jaw dropped lower than it's possible.
"What? Does it look bad, too much? Should I go and wear something else?" he immediately panicked.
"No, no. You look- you look.... great." Wilhelm breathed out, mesmerized by his view.
"Thanks," Simon visibly blushed.
"Okay, let's go. Don't want to keep Rosh and Ayub waiting, " Simon's sister said.
"I'm gonna wait for you here, love," Felice told her, kissing her lips.
"Ew, gross. It's actually ridiculous how cute you two are," the blonde boy rolled his eyes.
"Agree with Wille," the Latin boy confirmed, "Anyway have fun," he winked, looking at the two through his shoulder and taking his bag from where it was laying.
"You too, bye."
And with that, Eriksson siblings left the apartment. Wilhelm took the closest cushion and hid his face in it, groaning.
"What’s up with you two?" Felice asked.
"We almost kissed."
"You what?" a questioning grimace appeared on the girl's face, "how did it happen?"
"Well it wasn't exactly kiss.. kiss," he added.
"Okay, how did it happen anyway?"
And so Wille told her about everything that has happened since they dropped them off and were on the way home. Told her how their lips touched a few hours ago, and Simon was okay with it.
"Anyway, I'm sorry that I'm talking about myself when it was supposed to be about you."
"No, you don't get to be sorry. I'm your best friend and I will always be there to listen to you, no matter what," Felice hugged him tight.
"Whatever, what do you want to do? With the proposal, I mean," he questioned.
"Here is my plan-"
———
"So Simon what did you hear?" Rosh asked as they sat in the nearest café and all made their orders.
"From what should I start? Perhaps from the beginning," he bit his bottom lip, "When Sara and Felice left to say hello to everyone I asked Wille if he wanted a drink, and he said yes so I went for it.
"As I got it to him, we watched the forest and sunset from the balcony," Simon continued, "Then I heard Jenny by Studio Killers playing inside, and started to sing along and that's where Wilhelm said he wanted to say something important to me-"
"What did he say?" Sara's curiosity was beyond her.
"Nothing."
"Nothing?" Ayub repeated but with a question in his voice.
"Felice took him from me, saying she needs the best friend talk. Then Sara came," he laid his gaze on his sister, "asking where her girlfriend went, so I tried to look for them, and when I did," he stopped, looking at his own hands now.
"What happened?"
"I heard- what I heard is that Wille yelling at Felice saying, I quote, 'I almost told him that I like him!' and that was the exact moment when my heart stopped. "
"Wow, dude. But that's the good thing, isn't it?" Ayub commented.
"Yes, Simon. You've been in love with him since Hillerska," Rosh added.
"Shut up! He's my best friend, in the first place."
"Sure he is," Sara interjected and rolled her eyes, "you were literally blushing this morning," she stated, "Speaking of the devil, what was up to you two? Wille seemed a little tense."
"Listen and find out."
"Then tell us, don't make us wait."
"Wille also said he- he said he loves me."
"Oh," two of his friends made a surprising sound.
"I'm personally not surprised, I've known for a while now."
"Can I ask you a question?" the brunette girl said.
"You already did, but sure, go on."
"Why are you here?"
"What?" Simon didn’t catch the point.
"Shouldn't you be making out with your boyfriend right now?"
"HE IS NOT MY BOYFRIEND, OKAY? At least, yet."
"And what happened that you've acted weird today?" Sara questioned.
"We kind of kissed? Like our lips obviously touched, but it wasn't a kiss, was it?" he replied uncertainly.
"A giant WOW. You should have started from this! Have you talked?" Ayub claimed.
"No?" again uncertain answer from Simon.
"You kidding?" Rosh deadpaned him.
"Look, I promise we will talk this out before the-" he realized that he almost outed Felice’s plans.
"Before what?" Sara asked.
"Doesn't matter, I will talk to him tonight, alright?"
———
"Do you remember when we all went camping at Flatenbadet Beach?" Felice asked him.
"Yeah, I think I do. Was it the one where I sprained my ankle while exploring the forest around the lake?"
"Exactly!"
"What’s about it?"
"It was the place where me and Sara shared our first kiss in our tent and became girlfriends," the girl explained.
"Oh didn't know that."
"Yeah, so I want to propose there."
"Nice idea, what do you want to do there? Like maybe some decorations on a beach or something like that?"
"Actually y I want just casual camping and I want you two, Simon as well, to be there not to make it too obvious in front of Sara. How does that sound?"
"I think we can do that, do you have tents or should we go and buy?"
"I think I had two somewhere," she told, hoping he would agree.
"But the thing is that I can't say anything about Simon because he might be working in a studio these days."
"I'm sure he'll want to be there," Felice reassure him, "Don't tell me you are not looking forward to sleeping in one tent with your lover boy," the girl smirked at him.
"Maybe I do, but it's going to be hard if I don't talk to him about my feelings."
"Indeed, there is that thing. Talk to him tonight?"
"Fine!"
As time was flying, they finished planning on some small details and Felice was showing Wilhelm a ring, she bought for her future wife, they heard the sound of keys.
"I'm back!" Simon shouted.
"Where is Sara?" the curly girl asked.
"She went to buy something, she said she will be there in an hour or so."
"You left my girlfriend alone?"
"Don't worry, she'll be fine. Plus I've wanted to hear your plan as well. So how is the planning going?"
"Good, we figured out the place and some details," Wille announced.
"And? Do you wanna share with the class? At least something?" Simon questioned, plopping onto the couch next to his flatmate. As the other moved, and sat on the opposite side of the couch. It was clear, he was uncomfortable.
"Only if you promise not to tell your sister!" Felice pointed a finger at him.
"I would never," he locked his mouth with imagined keys and threw them away.
"Okay, firstly do you have plans for next week?" asked Felice.
"I do have to work on my new album at the studio tomorrow. Why?"
"Felice wants four of us to go camping and propose there," the blonde explained.
"Okayyy..., I can ask and see if we can start with the album next Monday if you want?"
"Perfect, then we only have the grocery list left to do and we're done!"
"Let's wait for, Sara and decide when we're going."
"Sounds good to me!" said Wille.
"Sure thing! I'll go to my room and make a call, I won't be too long."
Simon got up and went to his bedroom. The girl followed her gaze after him. As soon as he disappeared she turned to face Wilhelm. The expression on her face was hilarious, it made him giggle. But she definitely wasn't in a mood.
"What the heck was that?" Felice whisper-shouted to him.
"What?" he asked with the same tone.
"Why the hell you moved away from him?"
"Just the couch wasn't comfy there anymore," Simon came back.
"So they say we can hold the production of the album for a week, it's not a problem for them," he announced.
"Super!" Feli jumped.
The three of them hung out a little, and planned grocery shoppinglists while watching some romcom on Netflix.
The bell rang and as Simon opened the door, he saw Sara. Stepped aside to let her in.
"Hi, guy," she greeted.
"Hi, Sara," said Wille and Simon in unison.
"Hi, love," Felice tilted head back to receive her welcome kiss.
"What are you up to?"
"We were thinking, what if we go camping for this week on Monday, if you say no, then you must know that Simon already canceled his work in the studio for the next week."
"Oh, okay, Feli. I'm definitely down for that. But where?"
"Flatenbadet Beach," said Wille.
"Oh. OH. That beach."
"Yes, darling, that beach," the girls and Wilhelm were giggling.
"What's going on? What about that beach? Are you all giggling cuz Wille sprained his ankle there or what?" Simon was confused as he was the only person in the room who didn't know yet.
"It has nothing to do with Wille and his sprained ankle," Sara deadpanned him, " that's where I and Feli shared our first kiss."
"And became girlfriends," the curly haired girl added.
"Yeah, and became girlfriends," Simon's sister repeated.
"Oh okay," he looked Wilhelm right in the eyes.
It seemed like they were having a conversation without words. Looking at each other saying something like "So that's why Felice wanted it to be there?" and Wille responded, "Exactly." Then Simon, "You knew about them sharing a kiss there?" "Felice told me a few hours ago, as well."
"That's unfair, you two are aware we can see your too-obvious conversation without words."
"Even we don't use it, and we are dating."
"Well, not our problem that you don't know the ancient eye language," Simon mocked.
"Oh, and you do?"
"Yes we've learned it in our dorm room six years ago," Wilhelm replied.
"I see, whatever we'll leave you two alone for now, you have a lot to do tonight."
"What do you mean, Feli?" asked the blonde boy.
"You know exactly what I mean, Wille."
"We will see you tomorrow at 11 am at ours for groceries. Bye-bye, love birds." Felice said as she collected all her stuff in her purse and headed to the front door, holding her future wife's hand.
"Toodles!" Sara shouted and closed the door behind them.
"What was that for?" Simon stood beside the couch where his roommate was sitting.
"You mean 'love birds' or that we have a lot to do even though we have nothing actually?"
"Both."
"No idea," he said, and the realization that he was now alone with Simon came not so long after, "I think I'll go to my room, if you need anything I'll be there."
"Wait- I think we should talk," Simon grabbed him by the wrist.
