Part 3
Today was the day. It would mean either freedom or more subduction. Possibly death. Steven was nervously fingering the chain around his neck as he looked at his outfit for the day. He hated it.

Logan and Wade were getting into their costumes. Wade was deliberately not looking at Logan as he did. Logan was just too fuckin hot when he was only half in his suit and if Wade saw him half dressed he'd definitely jump his bones which no one had time for.
He could tell Logan was still nervous. "Hey, it's gonna be ok peanut, you know that right?" He said finally looking at Logan, who thankfully had his suit fully on. He didn't look convinced.
"Wade," Logan said looking at Wade's beautifully, to him, scarred face, "I've been looking into this Peterson guy, he's been tied to some shady shit. He had ties to Ajax and Weapon X."
"I know Peanut," Wade grabbed silencers for his pistols as he spoke, "that's why, if I get the chance, I'm gonna kill the fucker." The shiny silver was a nice contrast against the shiny gold.
"That may not be the best idea bub, but it's not like I can blame you."

They were standing by the door at the exact time Steve had told them to be by the door at. It was another 10 minutes before the door opened. But that wasn't Steven.
The woman was wearing a sparkly black floor-length dress with a high slit that showed off a lot of leg. The neckline was a deep v showing off a lot of cleavage. Her sleek brown hair fell halfway down her back. She had a chain with a tiny padlock on it around her neck.
"Holy boobies," Wade whispered to himself.
The woman was about to to speak when they hears a man's voice. "Shit hide," she said, panicked and pointing to some bushes.
They had just hidden when Senator Peterson came out. "Sarah dear you know I don't like it when you wander off," the man said watching her like a hawk.
"I'm sorry sir. I just wanted a smoke, the crowd makes me so nervous." She tried to justify why she was outside. He huffed and scrunched up his nose in disgust.
"Ugh fine. But the minute you finish you better get rid of the stench and get back to me right away," he said holding her chin to make sure she couldn't turn her face away before he turned on his heel and walked back into the house.
Sarah's shoulders relaxed with relief. "Stupid prick didn't even notice I don't have fucking pockets," She mumbled before turning back to the bushes, "you guys can come out now."
Wade popped up like a jack-in-the-box while Logan took a little longer to stand.
"Steven?" Wade asked in a whisper and the brunette nodded.
"Well it seems I've bought myself some time so off this comes," he said gingerly removing the wig. It always played havoc with his sensory issues.
"Okay then. I guess we better get on with it," Logan said, "I'm guessing since you got yourself some time you wanna come with us?" He asked the now bald guy in a very itchy dress.
"Oh hell yeah," He said while pulling off his heels, "c'mon it's this way." He said jogging off holding his heels and the end of his dress in one hand while carrying the wig in the other. He quietly padded through the winding halls.
"So why didn't you try this yourself?" Wade whispered.
Steven stopped dead hushing him, there were guards ahead. He quickly placed his shoes on the ground and slipped them on and put his wig back on making sure it looked a bit messy. "I'll distract them."
He walked forward towards the guards blabbering on about falling and looking for a hair brush while Wade sneaked up behind both the guards and banged their heads together knocking them both out. As soon as they were down the wig was back off. Logan walked over, he didn't feel particularly helpful at the moment but like hell was he gonna let Wade go by himself.
"We can't be far now." He grumbled looking towards Steven.
"Nah it's five doors down," he said and then turned to wade, "And to answer your question, I can't crack a safe."
"Fair enough." He muttered.
Logan decided to lead the way past the final five doors. He pointed to a door and Steven nodded. Logan pushed the door open and was greeted with a very over the top ostentatious room. It was full of art and guilded gold.
Steven ran in and oppened a hinged painting to reveal the safe. He turned his head towards his companions, "we gotta hurry. Peterson has got to be suspicious by now."
Wade slid over the desk, knocking off all the useless crap that was placed on top, and came over to look at the safe. He pulled out a long skinny tube with a green light bulb at the end. He pressed a button and it extended and made a whirring noise, "damn its a deadlock." He said as he flung the tube over his shoulder.
Steven looked over to Logan who was pinching the bridge of his nose and sighing heavily. "Did you seriously bring a sonic screwdriver just to make that joke?"
"Yup!" Wade sounded proud of himself.
"Uh guys I don't think we have time for this," Steven said peeking out the door.
"Alright alright I'm doing it." Wade stated as he started to crack the safe.
There were footsteps outside the door coming closer and closer.
Steven had started holding the door shut when the safe finally opened.
His eyes widened when he heard the sound. He ran towards the safe abandoning the door which Logan took over holding shut as someone started banging on the door. Steven's eyes were wide. "Shit gimmie the key. Where the fuck is the key." He muttered handing papers and jewellery boxes towards Wade.
"Could it be in one of those boxes?" Logan suggested which prompted Steven to start opening each box, grumbling when it was just a gem instead of the tiny silver key he was looking for.
"Hey wait is this it?" Wade asked after opening the smallest box. Inside the box was the smallest key Wade had ever seen. Steven fumbled to grab it trying desperately to unlock the padlock from the chain on his neck.
The door was starting to splinter as the wood was failing to withstand the punishment it was being subjected to.
"Here I'll do it. You can't see what you're doing," Wade said grabbing the key and unlocking the padlock.
There was a bang from a gun and then a poof of pale blue smoke as Steven disappeared. The bullet hit Wade's leg.
