Summary
At the age of fifteen, Ruby May dies and goes to Valhalla. When she was alive, her biggest dream was to become an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. like her mother. Will she become what she always wanted to be?
Note
You did read the tags correctly. In this fanfic (and in other PJO and AOS crossover fanfics by me) May and Annabeth's stepmother are sisters. It was a very random idea that I had based on her description in The Titan's Curse that I read whilst writing the most recent chapter of Searching.

The Nemeon Lion

Our conversation was cut short when a lion burst into the room. One of the mortal children said something about a 'kitty'. I chose to ignore the mortal child. They would only serve as a distraction. So would the rest of the mortals. Upon closer inspection, I realised that the lion was the Nemean Lion from Greek Mythology. It then made more sense that the mortal child saw it as a cat.

Despite our best efforts, nothing managed to pierce its hide, not even our arrows. Then Jackson had an idea. He ran off in the direction of the gift shop. Idiot. What part of his plan to take down an near impervious monster from Greek Mythology involved a souvenir from a museum gift shop? His plan became clearer when he returned with foil packets of astronaut food and started throwing them into the lion's mouth. Of course! It's hide was impervious, but its mouth wasn't! I didn't like to admit it, but he actually had a good point. Perhaps he was cleverer than I had originally thought him to be.

Percy's plan allowed Zoe, Bianca and I to fire arrows into the monster's mouth. Thankfully, the Nemean Lion turned into gold dust, returning to where it had come from. All it left behind was the pelt. Zoe told Percy to take it. He denied it, but she managed to convince him to take it. I saw what she was doing. He was part of the quest now and he was the one who had come up with the plan to kill the lion. It was his right to keep the spoils of war. When he put it on, it turned into a jacket. the new jacket was probably bullet proof, much like the hide of the monster it had come from.

Unfortunately, we were being followed. Again, this was thanks to Percy. The idiot. We rushed out of the museum, skeleton soldiers following us. I counted twelve of them. Roughly. They seemed to be tracking us by scent. This was not going to end well.
