Old Friend
Turned out that all I needed to do was say the oath. I repeated the lines of the oath. It didn't take long and was very simple. Before long, I was a Hunter of Artemis.
Artemis took me to a forest on Midgard where the Hunters were. It was the first time that I had been on Midgard since my death. It felt weird to be back. The Hunter's camp was a semicircle of silver tents. In the centre was a campfire. Around the campfire was a group of girls. Artemis and I walked closer. I realised that I knew one of them. She had been one of my friends when I was alive. I knew that she was there. Artemis had told me. Her name was Lucy.
She stood up as we approached. Shock was evident on her face. "Ruby?" she said. "I thought you were dead."
I looked at Artemis. We had talked about what to do in this exact situation that we both knew was coming. I was not tell any of them the truth. the only one who could know the truth was Zoe, who was the oldest, the lieutenant and who already knew about the different pantheons. "It's complicated. Just don't tell anyone. Especially not my mom."
"Ok." I sat down next to her.
