Apology Accepted
Chapter 19: Apology Accepted
Loki stayed in his spot by the window and didn't really move. He checked the time on his phone every now and then. Somewhere between forty five minutes to an hour since he had been there and he was ready to just be on a plane already. Every minute he stayed in this city after using his magic had him tenser than before.
"Lyle!"
Loki's head raised as he heard Sean's voice and he looked over to see both Sean and Mobius standing there. Mobius was a little more out of breath than Sean who just ran over and threw his arms around him. "Don't leave. Please don't leave yet. I didn't mean it. I don't know why I said it. I'm sorry I slipped off. Sorry I lied. Please don't leave with things left like that."
Loki felt a bit of the hollow feeling creep away. "I don't want to hold you back and keep you from your fun. And clearly I am. I just didn't realize it." He said quietly. "I shouldn't make my fears your own."
"No! No you're not. Lyle you're actually really brave for coming here and letting me stay here even after yesterday. I promise I want you here until I'm settled into my apartment. Please don't go."
Loki finally wrapped his arms around him and tried to suppress his tears. He was so weepy these days. "You're apology is accepted." He said before he pulled away a little. "I can't stay though. I used a lot of magic to heal your dad. There's a good chance it was picked up somewhere."
"Actually sweetheart, it's been nearly an hour and a half since you did so and no ones come to grab you, I think you're in the clear."
Loki bit his lip a little, but Mobius was right. If it had been picked up and they actually found out it was him then it wouldn't have taken this long for them to come and snatch him. Yet there were no sparking circular portals being opened to drag him through. "Alright." He said quietly as he finally let Sean go. As soon as he stood Mobius had his arms around him tightly and he whimpered a little as he laid his head on his shoulder and just closed his eyes. Being in his arms was the best feeling in the world. To him it was always the safest place he could be.
After a moment he pulled Sean into the hug as well and they all just took a moment to let things settle between the three of them before Loki pulled away a little. "Why don't we go back to the hotel and clean ourselves up a bit and then we could go see a movie. I hear New York has some really cool movie theaters." He said as he looked to Sean.
Sean took the hint and beamed as he hopped on his phone to find a cool one while Loki placed a kiss on Mobius's cheek. "Thank you for coming after me."
"Always." Mobius whispered back as he linked their hands together as they made their way back out to the airport. There was no flight to cancel since both his and Mobius's tickets were open trip tickets so he could get on a plane at any time.
The ride back to the hotel from the airport was what he felt like the ride home from the hospital should have been. Full of jokes and laughs and the enjoyment of each other's company.
"Ooo Loki there's one here in Manhattan that has beds instead of seats...what about that?"
Loki cringed a little. "Sounds very unsanitary. I don't trust those sheets are washed very often."
Sean pouted, but then after he remembered how miserable the lice incident had been in third grade he cringed a little as well. "Yeah you're right. Hey...what about this one? It's got chairs that moves with the movie. It's called 4d!"
Loki looked over to Mobius. "That does sound intriguing. What do you think?"
"Sure why not. I'm always up for a good movie experience."
Sean cheered in the back seat as he leaned back in his seat again.
"Oh, Sean that reminds me. Tonight when we get home you should write a letter to Kevin. You can pass it along to the front desk and ask them to add it to their outgoing mail."
"You're right I totally should. I'll get one of the postcards they have in the lobby of the hotel. He'll like one of those."
"Don't tell him about the explosion though champ. There's no need to scare him or cause him to worry." Mobius said with a glance in the rearview mirror.

Once they got home from the movies they all sat down in the living room to just relax and slow down for an evening. Sean was seated on the end of the couch and Mobius was seated next to him and Loki was laid out on his side in one of his favorite robes reading another one of Poe's stories.
His head was in Mobius's lap so that every now and then when Mobi's hand wasn't being used it could run its fingers through his hair. The sound of Sean and Mobius talking about the different things in the lease for the apartment the perfect background noise.
Eventually though Sean was yawning and Mobius nudged him along to his room since he did still have a letter to write and once his door closed he looked down to Loki. "You've done an amazing job with the boys don't ever doubt that they love you just as much as they do me. You are their father. Capiche?" Mobius said with a stern look.
Loki looked up at him as he rested his book on his chest. "I understand, but I still don't think I should stay in this city after using that much magic."
Mobius sighed. "You're right. You should probably go home tomorrow. I just really didn't want things being left off like that and I didn't want that to be the reason why you left."
"I understand. It's just not a good idea though. I'll say a proper goodbye to him in the morning."
Mobius nodded. "That sounds fair. There's not a whole lot left to do. Just some shopping for the kitchen and bathroom really. He can pick out decorations and stuff once he settles in a little."
"I can call about the desk and the couch tomorrow while I wait for my flight to get here. Have him text me the address for his apartment though so they know where to send it."
Mobius motioned for him to get up so that he could as well and pulled him along to the bedroom for the evening. Loki pulled the door shut and went to put his book back in his suitcase so he could just grab it and go in the morning when he suddenly found himself against the door with lips on his. His let out a surprised little gasp that was muffled by the lips locked against his and slowly his fingers lost their grip on the book.
Only once his lungs were screaming for oxygen and he was a little dizzy did Mobius break the kiss for a moment, but only to move lower along his jaw. "I'm gonna show you just how much I love you tonight and how much I'm gonna miss you sweetheart." He murmured between kisses.

Tony leaned back in his office chair with a triumphant smile on his face and sipped at his fresh mug of coffee. "Alright Fri, sorry about earlier. What did you want to tell me?"
"It's okay boss. I picked up on a very small spike of magic being used earlier and I thought you would be curious to know about it."
Tony furrowed his brows. "Where?"
"Here in Manhattan Boss, across the city."
Tony looked over to the holoscreen lit up displaying both the spike she had detected along with the general location. "Can you narrow it down any further?"
"Negative boss. It didn't last nearly long enough for me to narrow in on it further."
"I hate magic." Tony grumbled as he looked at it again. "Good job baby girl. Keep your eyes peeled and keep an eye on that area. Maybe we'll get lucky and it'll happen again."
"And you go to bed. It's been forty hours since you last slept and eighteen hours since you last ate. I will call Mrs. Stark."
"Whoa okay no need to get hasty there. Let me put a couple things away and I'll head up to bed."
