Summary
Once the loom was saved and everyone was returned to their timelines Loki finally has a little family of his own. He's put in a lot of work to be the person they need him to be and he's watched the two boys grow and live to the fullest they can. They have some rules though. Rule number one highlighted, underlined, bold, circled in red and glowing with neon was that they never go anywhere near New York. Sean is getting ready to attend college and the allure of a forbidden place cannot be ignored any longer so...he decides he's going to New York. Oh joy.
Note
My friend: Hey you really need to get back to that actual book your writing I really want to find out what happens next.Me: Yeah I know I just finished a fanfic so I should be able to get back to it. *proceeds to write more fanfiction because I just cannot keep ideas out of my head*Hello dear readers, it wasn't my intention to be back soon, but this idea as usual sunk it's claws in and I can't let it go so I'm going to try and juggle working on WIP as well as this strange little story I've cooked up for you guys. Anyways, as it says in the tag I did a thing. I've read a few fics where it's domestic Lokius raising Sean and Kev together while they're young, but I have yet to see any done where they are older and I just thought it would be interesting to play around with that idea. I have four chappies written so far and I'm going to try and post weekly, it might be more than that, but at least a chppie a week and I have no idea how long this is gonna be. I'm just kind of throwing the first chappie out there to see how this does. Hopefully it won't flop. Feel free to comment and let me know what you think because comments are better than crack. Alrighty I'm going to stop rambling now. Can you tell I'm nervous?Oh P.S. If any of you who know my other story are reading this one I apologize the first couple of chappie's might be on the shorter side. I am absolute ass at writing fluff I don't know why, but I am trying to make them a decent length. I usually attempt to hit at least a thousand words for every chappie.

Chapter 4: Gift Shopping

Time seemed to move a little too fast after that for his liking. Loki knew if he truly wanted to he could slow it down, but it wasn't worth giving himself away. They had already been close to the end of the school year to begin with and in just a blink it was coming to an end.

Loki sat in bed that night twirling a pen in his fingertips, a notepad open on his lap making plans for Sean's graduation party although his eyes lifted to appreciate the sight of his husband wrapped in nothing, but a towel around his waist as he moved to the closet to grab something more comfortable to wear. A small smirk tugged at his lips and he silently set down the pad of paper and the pen on the night stand and slipped off the bed.

Mobius was none the wiser and he was able to wrap his arms around him from behind and let his hands run down Mobius's chest before one of his fingers tugged lightly at the towel as he left a small trail of kisses along his neck. "Oops." Loki murmured. Not at all meaning it.

Mobius shivered a little as he let himself be pulled back to the bed and party planning was put on hold for the rest of the evening.

The next morning Loki hummed a little as he was awoken to the feeling of warm lips pressed to his back and he chuckled a little as he heard Mobius's alarm blaring a second later.

Mobius groaned a little at the interruption, but obligingly reached over and turned it off before he rolled back over and wrapped the previously removed appendage back around him. "Morning Loki."

Loki rolled over in his arms and pressed a proper kiss to Mobius's lips. "I don't think I'm ever going to get used to waking up next to you." He murmured.

Mobius smiled at that. Eyes crinkling a little the way Loki loved so much. "That's okay I don't think I will either. So what are your big plans today?"

"I have to finish planning and then probably shopping to get the stuff that we need for his favorite dinner." Which was just going to be stuff on the grill and honestly Loki didn't blame Sean for that.

While he excelled in the kitchen Mobius's skills with charcoal and wood pellets was unmatched.

Mobius nodded as he trailed his hand along Loki's cheek. Still adoring the way Loki leaned into his touch without fail. "I'm still surprised you're letting Sean go."

Loki sighed and pushed down the worry and anxiety that fought for his attention whenever that was mentioned. "He made it very clear that he was going to go either way. Whether he had our permission or not. He made that very clear by applying there behind our backs. I...am not happy about it, but the least I can do is say yes and then do everything I can to keep him safe while he is there.

Hopefully a year or two there and he'll see it's hardly all it's cracked up to be and he'll come back home."

Mobius laughed as he pressed another kiss to Loki's lips before he pulled himself from the warmth of his God and their bed so that he could start getting dressed for work. "Well still, even if you said yes for selfish reasons I'm still proud of you. Three years ago you were still hesitant to even say the name of that city."

Loki nodded as he shifted from his spot still tangled deliciously in the blankets to appreciate the view as Mobius pulled on a pair of boxers. "It's crowded and stinky and loud and obnoxiously expensive.

More property damage than any other state, constant risk of mugging and you can't even see the stars. Plus we have Fireflies. Can New York say they have fireflies? No they can't. He'll be over it in no time."

"Actually sweetheart you can find Fireflies in New York. Central Park and Madison Square Garden are popular places to see them." Mobius said in an apologetic tone and then laughed at the glare on Loki's face. "You do have a point with everything else though."

Loki just huffed out a sigh before he licked his lips as he watched Mobius sliding on his belt through the loops. Once he had it on and buckled Loki gave a small twitch of his finger and watched as the belt unbuckled and fell to the floor again.

Once Mobius and Sean had been seen off to work and school respectively Loki made his way upstairs to get dressed himself. He donned a pair of black pants and green button down. He gave a knock on Kevin's bedroom door. "Okay all clear you can stop being sick."

He heard a cheer followed by a thud followed by the door being open. "Are they gone?"

Loki chuckled as he motioned for him to follow. Kevin wanted to go shopping for a gift for his brother, but he wanted to keep it on the down low so Loki and him had concoted the plan the night before

for Kevin to pretend to be sick and then they could go shopping together. Normally he wouldn't encourage the kids to pull something like that, but the way he figured it was the last three days of school he could miss one day and it wouldn't be the end of the world.

Kevin tugged on his shoes by the door while Loki collected his keys for his car as well. "What are you thinking about getting him?"

Kevin gave a long thought to that before he shrugged his shoulders. "I'm not sure. I have a couple ideas, but nothing I've decided on. I also only have like thirty bucks saved up though."

Loki waved one of his hands as he pulled open the door. "Don't worry about that I can cover you if you find something more than that you want to get him. Why don't we go to a couple stores and see what sings to you?"

Kevin bounced out the door ahead of him as he locked the door and shut it behind him and then jumped into the front seat once Loki had unlocked the car with the button on the little remote. Once he was in the car Kevin nodded. "That sounds like a good idea."

Three stores and two hours later Loki and Kevin were sat at a table at one of Loki's favorite little cafes. Loki was treating himself to a wonderful croissant and a cup of tea, because he wasn't to hungry. Being out in public for elongated periods of time made him uncomfortable and anxious. He did his hardest not to let it show because Kevin was having a good time, but still. The young man across from was devouring a grilled ham and swiss sandwich with some sort of a mustard sauce. Thankfully he had managed to teach the little heathens some manners while they were still young enough to have them truly sink in.

"Hey can I come to New York to?"

Loki raised a brow. "Pardon?"

Kevin giggled at the overly formal way Loki still had a tendency to speak. "You and dad are gonna go help him find an apartment right? It's all he's been able to brag about."

Loki sighed. "You have summer camp coming up Kevin. The week after school gets out. I do not think there will be time."

Kevin's face fell a little. "Couldn't I skip Summer camp this year?"

Loki smiled apologetically. "You can't Kevin. Because I know how much you look forward to it and it's already been paid for. Hey," He reached across the table and lifted Kevin's chin. "It's only for a month and a half. Then you get to spend the rest of the summer with us. When you get back I will make sure to plan something so that you can go and see his new apartment before you start school again okay?"

Kevin seemed to consider that before he nodded easily and took another bite of his sandwich. "Yeah okay. You're right I am looking forward to it this year."

"I know you are." Loki said as he ruffled his hair before he took a sip of his tea. "Now we have been to three stores already and you still have yet to find something for your brother and we should get home soon so that we can start dinner. What do you think we should get for him?"

Kevin chewed on his lip a little as he really thought about that before he smiled. "Mmm...why don't we go to an art store? Or...you know he's been griping about his desk the last couple of months. One of the drawers isn't opening and closing like it should and the surface has a couple digs in it that he says makes it hard to draw on if he doesn't keep them in mind."

Loki thought about that for a moment then nodded approvingly. "I do remember him saying something like that a couple weeks ago. Alright a new desk it is."

Kevin promptly returned to the rest of his lunch and once he was done he got another one of those grilled sandwiches to go and on their way to procure one really awesome desk for one really awesome kid/brother Loki stopped by Mobius's water craft emporium that was Piranha Powersports and strolled on in.

He looked around, trying to find his husband and spotted him not to far across the room up on one of the machines enthusiastically listing off the new features this one had and came up to the couple

standing nearby.

Loki took a moment to appreciate the sight before he made his way over. "You might just want to agree to to buy it. He'll keep going until you do."

They both laughed and Mobius perked up at the sound of Loki's voice and quickly hopped off the contraption to peck him on the cheek. "Is everything alright?"

Loki nodded as he held up the to go box from the cafe. "You forgot your lunch this morning is all. I don't want you to perish." Loki said as Mobius took the box with a sheepish grin.

Loki gave a wave and chirped a greeting to Mobius's coworker Dale on his way out.
