-----------
Yang loved parties.
Parties meant fun and friends to her.
And honestly, it was all he would need to face what would come after the votes.
Friends and fun.
She knew that the life of a great hunter or huntress meant constant danger and little quality time with loved ones.
And despite knowing the disadvantages of her dream, she decided to fulfill it.
She cherished every moment of fun and calm because of it. Especially if Blake was there with her.
Gods, everything was better with Blake by her side.
And sometimes that terrified her, but at the same time it was strangely comforting.
It was one of the main reasons why she had accepted the invitation of the FNKI team, to have a good time with Blake, even if she couldn't hear her well because of the noise and the people.
As soon as they arrived, the FNKI team dispersed all over the place, Flynt went directly to drink and chat with some girls from the drinks bar, Neon went to dance with some guys she found, and Kobalt and Ibori went to talk in a corner.
Yang had sincerely wished that would happen, that they would be away from her and Blake for a moment, perhaps because the FNKI team was terribly annoying, perhaps because she wanted to have a good time alone with Blake.
Whatever the reason, she wasn't really complaining.
Blake next to her, seemed to be self-conscious, her movements were slow and more timid than usual, even her ears showed her insecurity.
Yang noticed that, decided to approach her and grabbed her hand, and with his robotic hand he began to make "8" patterns on her partner's back.
Blake looked at her confused for a moment, it was clear that she didn't expect such an understanding gesture from Yang.
And that hurt so much.
It hurt to see the confusion in her partner's gestures.
It hurt to know that she was still going through difficult times that Yang probably had no idea about.
And what hurt the most was the look Blake gave her.
Her eyes began to shine.
Her eyes were really shining and she was smiling in a gesture that for Yang, did not deserve such a reaction.
Lilac and Amber.
Running into each other again, longing for each other, calming down and understanding each other.
It just felt overwhelming in a good way.
They both looked at each other for a long moment, as if time had completely frozen and they were the only thing in Remnant.
Yang noticed that she looked at Blake for perhaps a considerable time, so she suggested going for some drinks, according to her own words, that would make Blake feel "better" and she would cope more easily in the noisy environment in which they were.
Yang didn't notice, or pretended not to notice, the soft reddish hues that stained Blake's cheeks.
After all, it was probably the shame Blake felt for being so self-conscious.
It definitely wasn't because she was head over heels in love with her.
Yes, that should be it, Yang thought to herself as she ordered two Strawberry Sunrises with one of those little umbrellas that she liked so much.
Yang gave Blake an almost sheepish smile.
Blake repeated the action, before taking her own drink.
Maybe Yang got tired of drinking after her third order, maybe Yang directed Blake to the venue's dance floor. And maybe it was a little more than suggestive when dancing with the black-haired girl.
----
She didn't realize it at first, she thought that Blake had simply gotten enough courage to interact with the rest of the people around her.
She didn't notice how Blake's knees were shaking or her cheeks were redder than usual.
Or how the words seemed to flow with perhaps too much confidence.
Yang actually thought Blake was "in the zone."
Oh, but when Blake clasped her arms around Yang's neck and started blatantly staring at her lips, Yang finally realized that Blake was drunk.
Too drunk.
Enough to scream how beautiful Yang seemed to her.
Yang nearly choked on her own saliva at each statement.
Carefully, she led her out of the establishment, she was sure that Blake would not like to find out that she made a fool of herself in front of a bunch of strangers.
She took a deep breath, trying to calm her racing heart since she never expected to hear such words, flow so naturally, from her partner's lips.
"Does she really think that about me...?"-She thought to herself, while trying to calm her nerves.
She cursed that she hadn't been attentive to the amount of alcohol Blake consumed.
"Yang..."-A whisper. It was just a whisper that caused Yang to almost walk across the street in fright.
"Ye-ye-yes, Blake?"-Yang restrained herself, she couldn't believe the fact that she had stuttered something so simple, but for her almost unwavering pride, it was the terrible cold of Solitas.
Even if that excuse made no sense.
"Are you okay?"-Asked her partner, oblivious to the strong feelings and sensations that caused her partner.
"Doesn't she notice because she's drunk or is she just making fun of seeing me so nervous?...?"-Yang wondered before looking at the small smile that began to form on Blake's face.-"She's definitely making fun of me" Yang sighed completely defeated.
"I'm fine, Blakey"-She answered a little calmer. Blake probably wouldn't remember that night and at dawn, she would only complain about the headache and the fact that her throat was dry.
A pill would solve all this later.
"Are you sure, Yang?" -She asked again, with the smile still present.
Yang cursed in her mind, it should be illegal how attractive Blake was.
"Very sure, are you okay?"-Yang questioned her partner, she wanted to make sure of her well-being.
Blake looked at her and her small smile turned into an even bigger smile.
"Of course I'm fine, Yang."-She responded with a naturalness foreign to what Blake normally was.-"I'm with you"-She continued, getting even closer to her companion's body.-"How could I not be fine?"-She completed his response and completely devastated Yang's cognitive ability.
Yang learned that she had suffered a heart attack, was definitely dead, and was in heaven.
She didn't think of a more logical explanation for the situation she found herself in, for her, at that moment it was the only explanation she could find for how nice it was to feel the warmth that Blake gave her.
Blake once again had her arms around Yang's neck, fitting so perfectly that Yang for a moment compared how well they fit to some puzzle pieces she used to play with as a child.
Yang instinctively wrapped her arms around Blake's waist, pulling her closer.
After all, Blake was shivering, probably from the Solitas cold, and she was drunk and possibly going to fall at any moment and that would be painful and embarrassing for her.
Yang knew her so well.
Blake looked at her for a moment. As if she was accommodating her every thought, wanting to figure out exactly what to do.
Yang thought for a second about the situation they were actually in.
They had never been this close like that before. At least not in this context.
It was completely new to both of them, and Yang knew very well that new was sometimes terrifying.
Even so, for her it felt right, she did not feel afraid at any time. She wondered if Blake felt that way too.
Lilac and amber. They met again. They showed their feelings once more.
Their hearts beating in unison, cheeks flushed, and Yang aware that this time, it wasn't because of the cold.
Hell, she never really felt cold, it was all some silly excuses she had told herself before.
They contemplated each other calmly, time seemed to stand still and they were completely oblivious to the rest of the world that surrounded them.
They became oblivious to the cold, to the chaos that would come, to the grimm, gods, they completely forgot about the existence of Salem and the socio-political-economic situation of all of Mantle and Atlas.
They were only them in the world.
Nothing else mattered except Blake to Yang and Yang to Blake.
Even if neither of them clearly expected. Blake looked at Yang's lips, with a shyness she hadn't shown after Yang lost sight of her a couple of hours ago.
Yang guessed which place she looked at Blake so closely, enough to frown slightly and lick her own lips.
A sign that Yang recognized meant that Blake was really deep in his own thoughts.
Yang noted the fact that Blake seemed hesitant about the action she wanted to take that had crossed her mind.
Sometimes Yang appreciated being attentive to certain situations.
One of those, previously said, "certain situations" had to do too much with Blake Belladonna, her partner and her friend.
Even if Yang could sometimes interpret every small, seemingly insignificant gesture Blake made, she couldn't foresee the action Blake took.
The not so short distance that separated them was slowly shortened.
Centimeters to millimeters.
They felt their warm breaths.
Amber focuses on lilac.
And all thought passed into the background when the lilac lost sight of the amber and the young woman with amber eyes brushed her lips with the young woman with lilac eyes.
Blake Belladonna was kissing Yang Xiao Long.
And Yang Xiao Long did not turn away.
Blake's soft lips brushed against Yang's lips.
Yang cheekily savored Blake's lipstick along with the faint aroma of alcohol and fruit that the amount of Strawberry sunrise brought to Blake's mouth.
And oh, Yang felt like she had come back to life and died a second time, because this was definitely a higher point in the heaven.
They lasted maybe a couple of seconds like this, long enough and dedication that they both needed to catch their breath.
Yang walked away first.
Her confusion was evident as was her blush. Blake simply smiled at the nervousness of the lilac-eyed girl.
For just long enough for Yang to think that Blake was completely sober and completely making fun of her. Again.
However, that made Yang smile. Seeing Blake smile always made her want to repeat the same action. It seemed that Blake loved her smile, her eyes were sparkling and her own blush was visible from a good distance.
They both kissed again. This time, more daring.
Yang felt dizzy, drunk on the ecstasy that was being kissed by Blake with such consecration, drunk on Blake's lilac scent and the taste of her alcohol-laced lipstick.
Oh, Yang felt so good.
Yang always felt good to be around all things Blake.
At least most.
They separated once more, with a delicate thread of saliva connecting their mouths, trace of the actions of both young and skilled huntresses.
Yang brought their foreheads together, ignoring the heavy feeling that was beginning to bloom in her chest.
Blake wouldn't remember this. And that hurt Yang in more ways than one.
I wish you were sober"-She thought.
The alarms began to sound, alerting both of them, especially Yang.
Yang looked at Blake once more, she couldn't fight the grimm without being...in her 5 senses.
She had a quick decision to make.
And the young huntress decided to secure her partner first.
The grimm would keep coming and she would tear them apart anyway. At least so she believed.
-----
The cold made her tremble, and little by little she began to wake up.
Blake blinked slowly and tried to get some more warmth from the blankets on top of her.
Even so, the cold of Solitas made her shiver.
Her head ached as if a nevermore had hit her against a tree. Her throat was definitely worse.
And yet, all that went through her mind was Yang.
Blake immediately got up and could only find her partner sitting in a corner of the room.
The young faunus girl witnessed some not so soft snores.
And smiled.
Yang was safe. And she was with her.
Blake watched her for a while, before noticing how Yang Xiao Long herself trembled a little.
Probably because of the cold.
As Blake went to pick her up so he could make Yang rest on a bed much more comfortable than a chair, memories from a couple of hours ago came crashing down.
Her cheeks returned to those reddish tones like the night before.
"Fuck..."-She whispered as low as she could. No human could hear her, and that meant Yang wouldn't be able to wake up. "I kissed her,"-She said in a whisper again. "Oh fuck, I kissed her and I...I liked it...and I liked it...too much."-She repeated each time feeling her cheeks redden more.
A wave of thoughts overwhelmed her for a moment.
Oh, Blake had so much to think about, but Yang's slight complaints alerted her more than any grimm.
"Bla…key?”-She whispered her name softly. Blake's heartbeat increased as did the ruddy hue of her cheeks.
"Hey..."-Was all he was able to say after staring at Yang.
"Hey"-The blonde greeted her heart racing. Blake had so much to say, but she felt that maybe this wasn't the best time.
She knew it when she heard the footsteps going to their shared room.
And it was the absence of Ruby and Weiss.
Something had happened in her…moment of unawareness, and it required both her and Yang's attention.
This could wait, yes,of course.
This would have to wait.
"Just a little more"-Blake thought when she saw Yang with a small smile.-"It's just a little more"-She repeated in her mind.
Whereas Yang just continued to smile a bit, looking almost sad.
"She doesn't remember, she doesn't know..."-Were her thoughts.-"I wish you had been sober."-She thought when she saw her.
